Summary
After dying heroically, Jinu is reincarnated as a tabby cat — because karma’s a comedian. The celestial condition? He can only return to his human form if he finds the place where his soul truly belongs — his “true home.” Problem is, no one tells him what that actually means, so he thinks, “Maybe I should go back home to the village?”
Naturally, this leads to him getting chased off unfamiliar grounds, kicked out of a fish shop, and mistaken for a demon cat (twice). With each failed attempt, Jinu gets more dramatic, more confused, and a lot more flea-ridden.
But when he ends up staring at a giant ad board with Rumi’s face on it — smiling like how he remembers it — Jinu starts to wonder… what if “home” was never a place at all?

For with each tearing of his inner walls with her words and charm and care, the rubble repaired the masonry of his heart. Each step of the plan mended and broke to her in ways he hadn't even realized until far later when he realized just how incredible she truly was.

Jinu’s mind, again, supplied how stupid this all was, and he quieted it, smiling as she lifted the bear high in the air, spinning and nearly stumbling headfirst into a trashcan.
Affection was comfortable. Despite all of the difficulties the fallout of fondness brought, affection was…easy. A steady, gentle thing. Everything she did now, he simply felt the thing in his chest stir, giving it name, and moved on.

A series of moments in which I write another side to most of their meetings and give us the aquarium scene we deserved, all told and explored through the emotionally dismayed POV of Jinu.
