Summary
“You know, this name might be on both our uniforms some day,” Buck says, barely thinking, because, obviously it will. One day. But then his own words catch up with him and he freezes, staring unblinkingly at the grimy, really-needs-to-be-hosed-down side of the ladder truck.
Buck wears the wrong jacket.

Summary
“Are you okay?” Eddie asks. Buck has dark shadows under his eyes and his hair looks unwashed. He knows Pepa’s been watching Christopher for him while he was holed up in the hospital, but Buck looks like he’s been stuck in his own elevator.
“I’m not the one with a fresh set of stitches and orders for bed rest,” Buck says. He reaches across Eddie’s body to grab the edge of the duvet and tugs it over him.

Summary
"And they're looking for us, they know we're missing, they're--"
"Buck." Eddie says, because he loves to hear Buck's voice but he needs him to listen. Buck's lips fall shut. He looks at Eddie with the kind of wild defiance that precedes preemptive grief. Eddie takes a breath, another. It surprises him every time, how easily he forgets that he's never guaranteed the next. "They're not gonna get here in time."
9x18 spec: Eddie and Buck, in an elevator, dying.

Summary
Eddie lounges on the bed, idly scrolling on his phone, listening to Buck’s off-key singing in the shower. It’s always the same, Buck likes his showers hot enough to scald, coming out of the bathroom in a cloud of steam, pink and scrubbed, and Eddie knows tonight will be no different, waiting as the water shuts off and Buck comes into the room, backlit by the bright lights of the en suite, naked and still dripping as Eddie watches and enjoys.
To the casual observer it might seem like Buck moves aimlessly about the room, flitting from nightstand to chest of drawers to laundry basket but Eddie knows the routine, the steps plotted out in Buck’s head. He’s not complaining about the view he gets either; Buck’s broad shoulders and strong thighs, littered with tattoos chosen by a Buck Eddie didn’t know, the softness of his belly and hips, his strength, right to the core of him. Buck is fastidious with his waxing routine, water still dripping from his hair, running slowly over his collarbones and quickly down his smooth chest. Eddie watches a drop all the way from Buck’s neck to his hip. He wants to chase it with his tongue. He wants to suck the water out of Buck’s hair. Lap at him until he’s damp with Eddie’s spit instead.
