Summary
This is the end of the fifth season. That’s it, we’ve finished the series. I can hardly believe it when the director shouts, “Cut!” That's a wrap. Everyone is hugging each other, emotional cheers echoing through the studio. Aryan pulls me into a tight hug, and then Charlie hugs me too. We’re still holding onto each other when Walker’s blue eyes find mine and lock in place. He’s hugging Aryan, but our shared look doesn’t break. I’ve looked into his eyes so many times. Over these past seven years, my character tried to decipher the intensity behind them, stepping closer, staring into the restless sea that overflowed from them. I never truly dove in, because that was the boundary between Annabeth and me, between fiction and reality. But now it feels different. Everything seems to go quiet, and I feel myself sinking. Walker’s blue eyes are pulling me in.
Charlie says something, something about us finally being done filming,but I can’t focus. Then a loud pop cuts through the moment. Someone has opened a bottle of champagne, and that’s when I realize I’ve been hugging Charlie for a long time. We pull apart. Charlie heads toward Tamara. Aryan runs off to a glass. There’s nothing between Walker and me. Nothing.. -
