Distantly, his brain tells him that JJ probably has bruises all over his body, but John B can’t take this all at once, so he focuses on JJ’s face for now. And fuck, up close, JJ’s eyes are so, so blue. Even battered and bruised, he’s fucking beautiful. No, John B thinks, and shoves those feelings, whatever they are, into the same dark corner he’s been putting them in for months. It’s not like that, it’ll never be like that.
