Logan comes into the world sideways on tile in the darkness. It smells overwhelmingly of piss and his mouth tastes like blood. The world tries to spin away from him when he opens his eyes but he forces his pounding head to tilt so he can orient himself. Yellow cabinet, ratty taupe bathmat, tiles, blood. He’s in the bathroom. Footsteps. Logan turns his face into the cold tile as the door creaks open.
There’s a pause.
“Hey, bud, had a little accident?” the words are far away, “really bob-rossed my bathroom. Thanks.”
Logan tenses even though he knows he isn’t dreaming anymore. He swallows around a dry throat and says nothing.
