Summary
He looks at Ronan up on that stage, and it's like high school never ended, like they're sixteen and he's still in love.
But they're not in high school anymore, and Adam has a job and a boyfriend and sure their relationship is rocky but Ronan left without looking back to see if Adam was following. He can't just show up and expect everything to be the same as he left it.
And he definitely cannot drag Adam into some ridiculous escape/road trip. No way.

Summary
It starts with little things.
One day it’s Ronan doing Adam’s laundry for him because he was late for work. Then it’s coffee in a flask at school because Ronan made too much with breakfast. Then it’s offering to drive him to work.
They’re all little things. So little that Adam doesn’t even notice them at first. He’s so busy. There’s only twenty four hours in a day, but it’s never enough for all the things he has to cram in, never enough for studying, homework, socialising, sleeping. He’s so caught up in his little whirling bubble that he doesn’t get a chance to notice the small things.
That is, until they’re not little any more.

Blue spoke with her head half in the pillow from where she'd landed face down, 'I was nearly late to hand in my final because of the freaking rain. Some dick lent me his umbrella. Then he wasn't there when I went to give it back.'
'Gosh, sounds awful.' Orla mocked, and Blue turned her head in the pillow to glare at her.

Summary
Something pulls taunt behind Adam’s breastbone. A confusing emotion that’s close to envy but stops somewhere near blatant admiration. As Gansey tilts his head back and back and back, spreading his arms wide to this night and this life, Adam has to convince himself that the Gansey before him is real and a part of his attainable world and not simply a mirage of all he’s ever envisioned in his greatest aspirations.
In which Adam thinks Gansey belongs to the stars and Gansey wants Adam to understand something very important.
