Everything was looking up for McKayla Newton. She gave valedictory addresses at Forks High and the University of Washington. She expanded Newton's Olympic Outfitters by opening its first branch, located in Seattle's hip Ballard neighbourhood. She even accidentally met and reconnected with her high school crush, Beau Swan. Sure, he was with two attractive—and mildly threatening—women, but McKayla was never a quitter.
