“Dad,” Chris says, dragging out the word to Eddie’s chagrin. “People do a lot on Tik Tok. There’s cooking, too, you should really watch those. They can teach you a lot.”

But Eddie’s never considered who's missing from the stories until it’s pointed out to him: Buck’s parents. They should have been there to reassure him, to hold his hand. But they weren't. Buck was alone growing up. All alone.
