Lambda wasn't entirely certain Ange would take the bait to help her win her latest battle against Bern. So, she decided to come up with a new solution. One that would exploit Ange's obvious weakness in her brother, and would hopefully sort out any issues with unbalanced sides at the same time.
It was remarkably effective.

Puberty in the wasteland is hard. Vash makes do.
It’s better when he moves, and the heavy thing between Nai’s legs only gets harder as he does. The progress is slow. It gets better, and better, until he can hear that his breathing is too loud. When he reaches the peak, he falls right off it.
In the morning, Nai’s gaze follows him with an odd set to his mouth. But if he knows what Vash has done, he doesn’t say.

“Ah, you really think she looks like me?” Vash is quiet a moment, staring intently at the stretch of gauze he pulled from his pack. “I’m happy. Actually, she’s mine.”
“Your what?”
“My daughter.”
Vash’s smile is too damn bright and too damn fake except maybe it isn’t all fake. It’s the way he pulls the gauze a little too tight as he ties it off that tells Roberto he’s as close as he gets to scared about what he’s said.
“You have a child?”
