Zoro remembers them dancing too close to each other, and he remembers Sanji unceremoniously saying, “I kinda wanna fuck you”. He remembers choking on his own spit, unable to say anything for ten whole seconds that felt like a lifetime, but then Sanji kept talking, only making things worse, “and I kinda think you want to fuck me, too.”
“Yeah,” Zoro could only say, trying to make it sound like a question and failing miserably.
“I really fucking hate you,” Sanji sighed. “You don’t get it, do ya, Mosshead? It’d be a terrible, terrible idea, you and me.”

Summary
Sanji liked to stay on the positive side when it came to other people and their odd little behaviors and quirks, but it didn’t seem quite right to do it for his own. It was easier to think in terms of debt and survival and penance than focusing on the positives.
The mouse sitting on his shoulder, observing his meal prep, squeaked at him, and Sanji smiled.
This indulgence was done in honor of all the poor mice friends who had been killed because he showed them kindness. When Sanji reached his hand up to offer scraps too small to save for Luffy, the mouse nuzzled his fingers.
No other reason.

Maybe there is something to be said that the first time they kiss, they kiss on a sinking ship. As if to say: this too, is inevitable. The waves are gnashing above the sea’s bottomless maw, and the timbers of the sinking galleon groan their own dirge – as far as this space of sea is concerned, the world is ending. Then there they are, balanced on the cusp of it, concerned only with how they exist relative to each other.
There’s an awful devotion to it, and it shouldn’t be romantic. But Sanji is hopeless. He’s always wanted a love like this.
