Summary
The wolf beneath Shane's skin is not some committed leader, intent on controlling others. Yes, his designation fits well with his need to protect those he loves. To protect innocents. But, his alpha status is not the same caliber as Ilya Rozanov's.
In this moment, it's both good and bad news. If Ilya manages to do what his brother has tasked him with, Shane won't suffer too much in changing designations. The pride in him is attached to his accomplishments, not whether or not he can pop a knot. But on the other hand, his flexibility practically guarantees that, with enough time and effort, Ilya will succeed. They will end up permanently mated.
