    He’s ethereal under the stadium light. It falls like white water over his dark, messy halo of hair, caresses the edges of his tensed jaw and the anguish etched into his face, outlines the curve of his full, trembling lips as he looks down at Ilya, trying to hold Ilya’s gaze with his own.

That he had to pull over to cry in his car on the way back to his apartment that night in Montreal after seeing Ilya dance with another girl in the club.
