Summary
“Aventurine? What brings you to call me at this hour?” Her tone was the same as always — smug, confident, and a little condescending. “A lady needs her beauty sleep, you know.”
“Don’t worry, I wouldn’t dream of keeping you held up for long.” He toweled off his face, taking with it excess product from his skin routine. “I was just wondering if you could send me the doctor’s contact info. He ghosted me at the eleventh hour!”
Jade was silent on the other line for a few moments. “You’ll have to be a bit more specific. Which doctor are you talking about?”
Aventurine paused. “Uh… who else? You know, Ratio?”
“Who is ‘Ratio’ supposed to be, exactly?”
The toothbrush clattered as it fell into the sink, slipping entirely from Aventurine’s grasp.
That was when he knew something was wrong.

Summary
Crushes weren't for people like Aventurine. Love certainly wasn't. No, Aventurine couldn't afford to be in love, he had more important things to get to. Investments to make, assets to liquidate, missions to do.
Except, one thing was for certain. That he, Aventurine, had a crush on the good doctor. And he has no idea what to do about it.
(This was bad. This was really bad.)
Aventurine realizes he's in love with one Veritas Ratio and goes through the 5 stages of grief.

Summary
Aventurine awakens with a jerk of his reconstructed jaw. Gold-brown metal gleams where synthetic skin once stretched. His lips twitch experimentally and his eyes are still so, damningly red but they refocus on Ratio and Aventurine's back online again.
Ratio knows Aventurine won't like this—knows it in the marrow of his weary bones—but still, the apology stumbles from his lips like a child unsure of its first steps. “I’m sorry,” he murmurs, and in this moment, Ratio feels the true beginning of the end.
Aventurine simply tilts his head with the inevitability of a conclusion. His voice, when it comes, is calm, devoid of accusation. “Sunday won’t let me stay, will he?”
It isn’t a question.
Or:
Ratio rebuilds Aventurine again. And again. And again.

Summary
Aventurine snorted, though the sound quickly turned into a soft sniffle. He glanced up at the night sky, where faint stars peeked through the haze of festival lights. “It’s beautiful out here,” he murmured.
Ratio followed his gaze, the sharp lines of his face softening. “Yeah, it is.”
