Summary
“Scared?” Louis asks, punctuated by a deep drag of his cigarette. With his other hand, he brings his thumb and index finger to his chest and undoes another button. The bare skin is somehow still amber and aglow, decorated with small hairs. Harry wants to catch them in his teeth and pull.
He drinks. “I’ve always been scared of unpredictable people. But I get over it.”
Louis leans back and smirks. “Now you’re scared of yourself. You’re afraid you’ll fall in love with me.”
“That wouldn’t be hard.”
In fact, it would be nearly effortless. It’s everything else that’s been taking him a lot of effort these days.
Louis lowers his head just to look up at Harry through lightning-rod eyelashes. “Careful.”

1946. WWII has just ended, but there's still work to be done.
To help bring Nazis to justice, U.S. government agent Harry Styles receives a new assignment: recruit Louis Tomlinson, the American son of a convicted German war criminal, as a spy. Neither knows the full extent of the task they're asked to complete nor the full impact they will have upon each other.
The stakes are quite high.

Summary
The tiny microphone picks up the sound of rustling sheets behind him, and Harry’s smile changes to a confused frown as he looks back, camera still in place. His face, only visible in profile now, visibly softens, and when he turns back around it’s to prop the camera up on the side table to catch the moment. There’s a smaller figure curled up on the other side of the bed, fluffy brown hair sticking out from where the blanket is pulled up over their face. Harry rolls back over and pulls the blanket down a bit, and big blue eyes squint up at him in the sudden light.
Harry and Louis' first year as a couple, as captured by snippets of home movies.

Summary
Helene smiled, the wrinkles by her eyes and mouth flattering her face. “That sounds lovely. And you didn’t even fool around? Isn’t that the whole point of spending the night with a friend with benefits?”
“We’re not that, we’re just…we’re just friends.”
“Who sleep together. Literally and figuratively.”
“Yes.”
“How is that not being friends with benefits?”
Louis huffed. “Keep your voice down, please. I do have a class going on, if you didn’t notice. And I don’t know, but that sounds so…immature and sleazy, and that’s not what we have.”
Helene leaned closer and aggressively whispered at him, “Because you also have romance and meaningful feelings for each other and everything a real relationship has, sans the label.”

Summary
Louis heard humming, soft and melodious, and the scribble of a pen on paper, before he blinked into awareness, his vision focusing gradually to make out the person standing at the foot of his bed.
It was a young male nurse, dressed in light blue scrubs. The morning autumn sunlight streaming in through the window lit up the hair that escaped from his bun like a halo.
“Hi,” Louis croaked.
The nurse’s head whipped up from his notes. “Oh, you’re awake—” When he looked at Louis his voice broke off and his face went slack. “You’re awake,” he repeated.
