Mack opens the app because he knows he shouldn’t, and because apparently knowing better has never stopped him before.
The profile is faceless and shirtless, all broad shoulders and bad lighting, but it’s the thin gold chain at his throat that makes Mack stop scrolling. A cross. A Saint Christopher medal. He has seen that necklace before, on Aiden’s teammate, and the last person Mack should be thinking about when he’s alone in his room.

It's written all over Will's face. His eyes shine differently as well. Mack feels that he might die staring at those ice-cold blue eyes, looking back at him frightened.
