Before I knew, his lanky figure pressed against mine. And then his hands and his neck. Pause. He's actually hugging me. And damn, it feels… good? It's not just a shit hug, like the one he'd half-given me at the airport months ago. He's actively diving in, bringing me closer and closer. A mix of sweat and whatever was left of his deodorant filled my lungs, his jacket gently easing its way to suffocating me. I'd wish it would. Then he pulls back, his warmth leaving me.

A whoosh was heard, as a tall, scrawny figure rushed by various shops and cafe's, with a gym bag full of money on his left shoulder.
"I'm sorry!" A squeak of an apology was rushed out, as a broad, lanky, teenaged boy, sprinted over bike racks to catch the mysterious figure, who was running way faster than him.
"Pardon me! Excus-"

"Watch where you're going kid!" A groggy voice complained, sounding like it was filled with smoke that's been built up for twenty-some years.
"I apologize, sir!" The same voice yelled, echoing in the streets, changing abruptly every few seconds. "How. is. this. guy. so. fast?"
Just as he passed onto the next street, he looked back for a split second and bumped into a frame of someone.

It was enough for Mike, however. Seeing just the slope of his nose and the curve of his lashes broke his heart into a million and one pieces, over and over again. As Will prepared to respond, Mike’s gaze flickered down to his pink, dampened lips, stained from the cherry Icee he'd had earlier. He was incomprehensibly, ineffably, beautiful.

"Tears stained the end of the letter. The Love flowed out. Mike didn't plan to write it. He had to reread it to even realise that he couldn't just sign off the letter like that. On another reread, Mike had also decided he couldn't send it to Will. And Mike stood by it. This was too much. Mike just wanted things to stay the same. Just to be normal.
So Mike tucked it between two cushions in Castle Byers and left, trying not to let the tears flood out. He didn’t want to have to explain that to Holly. This way, by fixing by Castle Byers, and by leaving the letter there, Mike would’ve fixed their friendship. At least, to himself."
