Summary
Leisurely, one finger glides up the expanse of skin exposed by the undone buttons at the top of his shirt. It scorches a slow trail up from his stuttering heartbeat, over the bob in his throat, along his jawline, and up to the center of his right cheekbone, where his skin spreads a soft flush.
“One,” she whispers.
Her finger slides a short distance to the side of his nose. “Two,” she says softly.
Toward the top of his nose bridge, near the inner corner of his left eye. His lashes flutter under her touch. “Three,” she continues.
The weightless scrape of her nail drags back down his jaw, over his throat as he swallows dryly, and presses near the racing pulse beneath his neck. “Four.”
Or: Miss Bodyguard becomes Miss Sleep Aid and counts Rafayel’s beauty marks to “help him sleep.” They don’t sleep.

Summary
Evening’s breeze bleeds through the window and chills his bare skin, stripped down to sweatpants after she had insisted he let her sleep in his T-shirt rather than her skintight hunter’s gear. The worn cotton wraps her in his scent—marks her like she’s his—and hangs on her like a dress, its hem riding up enough to expose just a hint of her upper thigh. Caleb’s fingers twitch against the sheets, itching to feel if her skin is as soft as midnight’s haze paints it. A makeshift wall (the hotel pillow he’d placed between them before wishing her sweet dreams) blocks his restless hands from finding out.
Or: Caleb fighting against what he wants, and failing.

Summary
Pirates aren’t known for staying in one place for long — after all, the sea is a sailor’s home. Yet, many moons witness the return of Captain Caleb to a small port town called Linkon, at the old Destiny Tavern. It’s the woman behind the bar who keeps luring him in. Rumor has it: no treasure’s gleam compares to the shine of her smile.
“I’ve noticed something,” she says suddenly, stirring him from his stupor. “You haven’t brought your crew here since the first time months ago. They must not have enjoyed it as much as their captain.”
A slow smirk pulls one corner of his lips. His chin rests on his palm, propped up by his elbow on the countertop, knuckles curling inward near his knowing smile. A heavy feeling settles on his eyelids as he gazes at her under thick lashes.
“Oh, they enjoyed it,” he responds honestly. “I’m the greedy one. Normally, the crew shares treasure equitably. But just once, I want to keep this all to myself.”
Or, an AU: Five times Pirate Captain!Caleb visits MC’s tavern, and the one time she takes him home.

Summary
Sylus remembers his past lives with her vividly: a dragon’s death, a pirate's pain. But in this life, his beloved has forgotten both, forgotten him. Memories manifest as migraines while Sylus carries the weight of nostalgia on his own. Yet, more and more, he swears he sees glimpses of recognition slip through the mosaic cracks of her mind. He aches for it, but he’ll be patient. After all, he’d waited lifetimes for her before.
Or: My unofficial myth of Sylus and MC/you as space pirates (a past life after ‘Beyond Cloudfall’) and how memories of that life affect the current timeline.
“Are they only allies, the two marauders in this legend?”
“Would you call them something else, Captain?” he counters, pecking the pad of her thumb teasingly.
“Well, Captain,” she smiles, pausing momentarily, thinking as she moves her fingers up to comb through his moonlit hair. “What’s the word for two people who are transcendently in love?”
Sylus grins, sweeping low to let her taste the answer on his tongue.

Summary
Born with the cursed technique of Metamorphosis, you know better than most how life relentlessly changes and distorts. Nothing stays the same. People come and go; the marks they leave on your soul, no matter how hard you try to keep your distance, only carve deeper. Nothing ever stays the same. But when you stare into irises of unwavering, infinite blue — a gaze that reminds you of endless skies and sparkling oceans — it’s hard to tell if you’re flying or sinking. And somehow, after years of everything else changing, that feeling he stirs in you always stays the same.
Or: A slow burn enemies-to-friends-to-lovers story spanning years of knowing Gojo Satoru, from your days as students to your days as teachers at Tokyo Jujutsu High.
“Get over yourself, Gojo,” you roll your eyes, standing up so he can’t tower over you more than he naturally does.
“‘Gojo’ is so serious. Let's go back to the pet names, bug.”
You step closer to him, raising your chin defiantly and standing on the tips of your toes. “Stop calling me that!”
He takes a step closer too, that infuriating smirk on his stupidly glossy lips. “Or what?”

Summary
All semester, your crush on Caleb had been easy to avoid. But when a class project forces the two of you together, avoiding him becomes impossible. Caleb is more attentive than you expected, and very good at noticing when you get nervous around him. You thought your crush was one-sided. Caleb, apparently, had been thinking the same thing.

Summary
You understand now, at least a little.
Whatever is happening is bigger than either of you. There are powers at play you cannot see, hands moving pieces across a board you were never meant to understand. Maybe the two of you are only pawns. Maybe Caleb has known that longer than you have. You still wish he would tell you more. You wish he would trust you with the truths he keeps locked inside. You wish he would let you stand beside him instead of trying to place himself between you and the rest of the universe. But if he is truly willing to live in a world where you hate him, if he would rather bear that than drag you into whatever this is, then some part of you has to believe he is doing it for you. Even if it hurts.
