Summary
Jackson is supposed to be home.
It has walls, patrol routes, warm meals, horses in the stables, and enough routine to make people believe they are safe. Eve has lived there long enough to know better than to confuse shelter with belonging.
She keeps to the stables, speaks when she has to, and lets the horses know more of her than most people ever will. Her prosthetic leg, her scars, and the past that left both behind are things Jackson has learned not to ask about.

Summary
You were very much out of your comfort zone. Impulsively reserving a spot for a month-long backpacking trek was not something that fit into the normalcy of your typical 9-5 lifestyle, but why did it feel so right?
