    Summary

Olruggio wrapped his arms around Qifrey’s waist and pulled him close. He rested his chin on Qifrey’s shoulder, warm and real and solid. Qifrey returned the gesture, his eye sliding shut. He let out a breath. They remained that way for a long while, leaning against each other. This could not ease Qifrey—he’d managed a delicate balance that allowed him to indulge in these small ways while retaining his ever-present fear—but Olruggio’s weight became heavier and heavier as he relaxed into it.

Qifrey could do these things for Olruggio; he could take care of him, though it would never make up for everything that he had done.

Qifrey and Olruggio build themselves a home. The days pass in the closest thing to domestic bliss that Qifrey can manage. It cannot last.

    Summary

Joseph looks down at his watch to check the time and if he needs to make a very special appearance tonight, but suddenly, there’s some shouting in the distance and Joseph looks back up only to see a pair of shoes careening toward him as someone dives into the car through the still-open passenger window, shouting, “Drive, idiot!"

Joseph, fortunately quick on his feet, does as he's told. Peeling out of his parking spot, he speeds down the road as Caesar adjusts his position to actually sit in the passenger seat and begins to load his pistol. “Hey, I was just going to check on you! How did it go?”

Caesar glares at him as he forces the cartridge in. “It was going great before you commed me, asshole.”

“Oh,” Joseph mutters, taking a sharp right toward the industrial district, “is that why you hung up?”

    Summary

Joseph had always dreamt of flying—being regaled with stories as a kid of the incremental march towards flight, and the veritable explosion of flying machines that happened after, instilled in him a sense of wonder at the infinite world aloft. So, naturally, when the war in Europe broke out in ‘39, he took advantage of his father’s position in Britain’s Royal Air Force and hopped the first ocean liner to Southampton, eager to finally take to the skies.

But when he’s shot down over the Alps and finds himself beaten to hell and back with a guarded (and frankly grumpy) Italian pilot who claims to be just as stranded, he’s forced to work with the very enemy he’s been fighting for the past 12 months. Can they put aside their differences to survive the dead of winter and get back home?

    Summary

In a future taking place about twenty-five years past Vento Aureo, Guido Mista runs into his long lost love, Giorno Giovanna.

"Mista swallowed down pride and anger, not wanting to sour the reunion with his long lost friend. Mista scoffed at himself: friend. They had kept their secret for so long, that even his own mind was starting to censor what they had shared. Friends. Coworkers. The don and his bodyguard. They had been forced to skulk in the shadows, but it had been the brightest thing Mista had ever experienced. First love. Young love. Forbidden love. It had been blinding. Mista felt a blush creep up his cheeks, as the memories came crashing over him."
