Shane inhales deeply, taking it all in. Ilya comes back, holding a tray with various breakfast foods, drinks, and one singular lily in a drinking cup. Shane smiles, surely looking like a lovesick fool. “How early did you get up to make this?”
Ilya places it beside Shane, before sliding back into bed. “It was nothing. It is your first birthday and your first daddy’s day since our precious babies came into our life.”
(Or: Shane’s 35th birthday falls on Mother’s Day aka “daddy’s day” in the Hollander-Rozanov household. The day is blissful thanks to their 10 month old twins, surprisingly emotional thanks to his mom, and of course, a little kinky thanks to his husband. He wouldn’t have it any other way.)
