“Thank you,” she says softly, almost a whisper, before turning toward the waterfall, planning to venture past there, further into the forest.
“You don't have to thank me,” a voice said softly, slightly deeper than Dina's own voice, and stronger, somehow. Dina froze, letting out a small gasp, because she smelled that. Steady, calm, strong, alpha. Scent as strong as wood, the forest smell that has been washing her with calm since she got here.

Dina is stranded in the woods; alone, tired, and hungry. The lanky alpha in the trees thinks otherwise.
