"Odysseus walked straight up to Patroclus, a smile playing on his lips. “I want you to train Neoptolemus,” he said, gesturing to the boy.
“What?” Patroclus blinked, bewildered.
“You’ve been trained by Chiron, the great teacher of heroes, and you’ve lived among Achilles, the best of the Greeks. Who better to shape this boy into a true warrior?” Odysseus pressed, his tone coaxing yet weirdly insistent.
Patroclus felt an uneasiness in his stomach. He looked at the boy, with wide, blue-green eyes like sea glass, and a hazy memory came back to him. The last time he had seen Neoptolemus was when the boy was a tiny infant, held in Achilles’s arms and still sucking on Achilles’s breast, fragile and helpless. Now, standing before him, Neoptolemus was older; he had grown into facial features reminiscent of Achilles’s, yet still seemed far from mature."

"Patroclus hadn’t had an "exciting dream" in the past three days. He had chalked up the kisses to one of his lipstick wearing friends giving him a friendly goodbye that he’d forgotten to wash off. Maybe his subconscious was hinting that it was time to step back into the dating scene via his imagination conjuring up a vivid fantasy of a hot blonde with a whip calling him “good boy” and riding him like a jockey.
