Those few days under Darth Sidious’s complete control were not so different. The more he thinks about the years since he was a young boy under his influence, the more shame writhes in his stomach and eats away at the flesh like maggots, for how could he be so stupid? So gullible?
With Obi-Wan, it’s not like that.
Fear is replaced by a safety so complete and all-encompassing that it brings tears of relief to his eyes. It’s a safety that comes from knowing He will not let you waste away in your shame. He will forgive you your endless list of mistakes. He will not let you hurt anyone else.
