“Are you stalking me?” Hyuntak asks through gritted teeth.
Seongje scoffs. “Don’t let it get to your head. It’s just business.”
Hyuntak sees the glow of the embers out of the corner of his eye as Seongje inhales, sees his arm stretch out and his fingers flick the cigarette across the asphalt. He keeps his gaze pointedly forward.
“Business I don’t want to be a part of,” Hyuntak says sharply. “So stop asking.”
Seongje scoffs again, or maybe he laughs. “It’s not a request.”
“I don’t care what it is,” Hyuntak snaps and stops in his tracks. He looks at Seongje. “Just leave me the fuck alone.”

Summary
There was a reason Hyuntak was capable of pushing so much about Baekjin under the rug. Because he blamed someone else more, way more than he thought possible. Someone he thought he would cherish forever, the person who stood and watched his knee become shattered and ruined, despite knowing he was an athlete. An athlete with dreams and aspirations he used to support.
Geum fucking Seongje, the person he hated, feared, thought about way too often at times.
The person who read so much manga in 10th grade he proceeded to go around telling half the school he and Hyuntak-ie were tied together by the red string of fate.
(or hyuntak and seongje used to be childhood friends before one went to eunjang, other to ganghak)

Summary
Seongje hadn’t heard the name Go Hyuntak in five years, and he was fine with that. He had a set routine—consisting of recruiting fighters and filling a quota to keep the bettors happy—and he didn’t deviate from it. It was all perfectly fine.
Except that he was getting a bit bored.
So when the boy in blue starts turning up in the one spot he’d promised to never show his face, Seongje can’t refute the way his heart rate picks up in a way it hasn’t in years. But this Hyuntak isn’t the boy he once knew—and Seongje is determined to figure out what it is he’s hiding.
