    “Well, wouldn’t you like to know,” you teased. You watched as his shoulders bounced with a less-than-audible scoff as he turned back to you, passing you your crafted cocktail. He gave you a certain look that was reserved for you and Volt.

    “It’s one of those kinds of nights, then?” Eddie asked, returning to making his own drink. You took a long sip of your drink, licking away the foam on your lips as the whiskey burned smoothly down your throat.

    “I have no idea what you’re talking about,” you mused, watching the man shake his head. He acted grumpy, but you couldn’t miss that ghost of a smile on his lips.
