Summary
Manhattan, septembre 1990, Will et Mike sont colocataires de dortoir. Will étudie dans une grande fac d'art tandis que Mike étudie dans une fac littéraire dans la même ville. Will fait tout pour oublier Mike, mettre un terme à cet amour non réciproque qui dure depuis des années, il se met à sortir avec un garçon de sa fac, Julian. Mais Mike agit de plus en plus bizarrement, quand il apprend que son meilleur ami voit quelqu'un, ce qui déstabilise Will.
Mais un soir où Mike le surprend, entrain d'embrasser un garçon dans leur dortoir, tout part en vrille, une dispute éclate, mais alors que les mots deviennent incontrôlables, Mike fait une "proposition" qui laisse Will complètement sous le choc.

Mike takes his hand back, but doesn't move away.
“Let me help you with your jacket.” Mike requests.
Will's brows shot up his forehead.
“Help, how?”
“Like, help you take it off.”
Will lets a beat pass, just looking into Mike's eager eyes.
“You want to help me undress?” he smiles suggestively.
Mike falters in his movements.
“I–” his eyes search Will's face, his gaze settling down on Will's lips. “Yeah.” he breathes out.
“Okay,” Will looks at him from underneath his eyelashes, blinking up at him. “Go for it.”***
Will and Mike go off to college together, just like they always planned to do.
They share a dorm, past traumas and love for each other.
While Will is trying to find a certain steadiness and sense of comfort in the life ‘after the Upside Down’, things with Mike get gradually more complicated (in a good way).Bookmarked by waveringirl
