“I’m fine, you seemed like you needed it more than me,” he says, going to grab Chris’ abandoned cereal bowl on the counter. He takes it to the sink to pour out the remaining milk and continues, “this sleeping situation is catching up with you, old man.”
“You’re probably right, tin man,” Buck chuckles, “looks like you need an oil change with all the creaking and groaning you’ve been doing lately.”
Chris chooses that moment to re-enter the room. “You’re both old. Dad, we’re gonna be late,” he says, then turns towards the foyer again muttering under his breath. “A bunk bed would be easier at this point.”
Buck and Eddie turn back to each other, both wearing a face of utter bewilderment at that kid's attitude.
“Teenagers,” they say at the same time, both chuckling.-
Or, Chris makes a joke that his dad takes too seriously.
