“I want to go back, too.” Kaiser dissociates, retreating from the sting of rejection by someone he didn’t know could cut this deep. “This world disgusts me.”
“Why? Because I see you?” Ness is firm but kind, crawling across the tangled sheets to close the space between them. “Because I know you?”
"Shut up!"
Ness falls silent, but there’s a fire in his eyes that lets Kaiser know this version of Ness is dangerous. Maybe his Ness is, too. Because, under Ness's gaze, Kaiser is completely-

Summary
It had been ten months of realizing how poisonous Kaiser was, how that poison saturated every aspect of Ness’ life like a drug. Ten months of Ness desperately trying to survive alone after the lifeline that supplied him had turned out to be chains. Ten months of trying to forget, because that was the only option where Ness didn’t go to bed wanting him back.
And in walked Kaiser, like none of it mattered to him at all.
Or, after almost a year of no contact, Kaiser shows up at Ness' doorstep in the middle of the night.
