There was a strange sort of beauty about the way Chuuya's eyes gleamed in the midst of a fight, the way his mouth would split open in a grin as he knocked people away left and right, the way his eyes would occasionally flicker over to Dazai, if only making sure he wasn’t getting himself killed.
Not that Dazai thought Chuuya was beautiful, because that would be a bit much. He was attractive, objectively. Not that Dazai was attracted to him.(Or, more accurately: Dazai was, in fact, very attracted Chuuya.)

“Cut it out,” Chuuya grits between his teeth. “Stop trying to fucking—read me, or whatever. I know that face.”
Dazai blinks, and a sparkle of amusement replaces the blank, calculating stare in a manner of seconds. Chuuya vaguely feels like throwing up. “Don’t flatter yourself,” he replies cheerfully. “As if anyone wants to read you.”
Chuuya gnaws on the inside of his cheek for a while. Thinking. “Stop fucking lying,” he settles on finally, because he’s too tired to come up with anything better.
“I never lie,” Dazai says immediately. His eyes are dark. “That’s more your thing.”

Summary
“As if,” Atsushi snapped, and Akutagawa began to regret making that no-killing deal. “I bet you don’t even know the first thing about wooing someone.”
“Of course I do,” he retorted, because there was no way he was backing down now. Let alone admitting that the weretiger, of all people, was right about his inexperience.
“Prove it, then.”
Or, five times Akutagawa tries to prove that he’s the better protégé, and the one time he realizes Dazai's acknowledgment might just be an excuse.
