"Kissing bug" is the common name for triatominae, a family of blood drinking insects. They're known mostly for spreading Chagas disease, a parasitic illness which remains asymptomatic in about 60% of cases and causes complications including sudden cardiac death in the remainder.

Slowly Vincent reaches into the folds of his skirt, extracting a pair of scissors from between them. He makes a show of flaunting them to his brother, saying yes, these are the real deal, before conspicuously placing them on a cabinet behind him, lifting his open palms and showing them to his brother with a smile. “I’m unarmed.”
A joke, probably, but Vincent’s sense of humor always struck Gil as rather tasteless.Vincent helps Gil out after a problem when he moves rooms. Basically a Vincent character study from Gil's perspective when they're 14-15 and 16 respectively. Happy birthday gay little rat
