Summary
The first time Regulus met the Dark Lord, he was fifteen years old. Sirius had run less than a week before. Looking back, Regulus can only be grateful for that fact. If he had stayed, still been the Black heir, with his unruly hair and a feral edge to his eyes, would the Dark Lord’s obsession have turned upon him instead. The idea makes Regulus shudder. He can’t imagine his stubborn wild brother brought to heel by this monster, but there would have been no other option, not even death was a suitable escape.
