Summary
Seresin men love with reckless abandon. It’s put every man before him in the ground.
Jake refuses to be buried.
He flies like he has nothing left to lose (he doesn’t), a one man army (he is), leaving everyone else in the dust (so they don’t leave him). Admiral Kazansky claps him on the shoulder, says he expects great things from him, and Jake’s smile is feral as the rest of his flight school cohort looks on in disbelief.
Hangman, they all say, like Jake’s entire personality was a long con, and he ranks first in class.
Rooster doesn’t look at all.
(They've got history spanning the better part of a decade and they are absolutely, positively not over it.)

Summary
“He broke up with me.”, Bradley says.Javy stills, one leg already in his jeans, the other in the air. He didn’t expect that.
“Broke up with you?”
“Uhm, yeah.”
Javy tugs the phone between his cheek and shoulder and buttons his jeans. “I didn’t know you were dating.”
“Yeah.”, Bradley says, a weird undertone in his voice, drawing the vowel out. Javy is pretty sure his next words will not improve the situation. “Neither did I.”
Jake breaks up with Bradley, and won't talk to him. so Bradley does the only thing he can think of: He calls Jake's best friend.
