Summary
In a kingdom fractured by a civil war between the forces of light and shadow, Princess Mafuyu yearns for a life beyond her gilded cage. Her only solace is her loyal knight, Shinonome Akito, but even that is cruelly ripped away. At her own birthday ball, a dark sorcery possesses Akito, forcing him to commit a horrific massacre that leaves her mother, the queen, and countless nobles dead. In a final moment of clarity, Akito begs Mafuyu to end his life to stop the spell's control.
Now, as the newly crowned queen, Mafuyu abandons her grief for a cold, determined fury. With her kingdom in shock and her own hands stained with the blood of her closest friend, she vows to not only avenge her fallen knight but to annihilate the dark magic that stole everything from her. With new allies, including Akito's fellow knights, she must navigate a world of forbidden magic to find the source of the evil that changed her life forever.
