Her face, while rugged, still has warmth to it- maybe it’s the freckles, or the tiny upturn at the corners of her lips. Her pity makes my blood suddenly boil. I point the gun at her and she raises her hands, her face dropping, and the flash of fear in her eyes churns my stomach. I grimace and huff.
