From this realisation, hot, embarrassing shame crawled up Henry’s spine, neck and ears at those words. This wasn’t the first time a woman hadn’t been all pleased with Henry’s efforts either, this shame was far too familiar.

Hans is a grown man. He can take care of himself perfectly fine, could shave his own face, wash his own hose like he did when he was stuck camping outside Trosky. He’s capable just like Henry says.

Hans’ grin sharpened. “Blonde,” he repeated, writing it down.
“…Thin,” Henry added, clearly wishing he hadn’t started, “Well… more muscular than thin.”
“Are you looking for a wife or a shire horse?”
“…Small…” Henry made an awkward, vague gesture at where a woman’s breasts would be.
Hans snorted. “Noted.”
Henry exhaled sharply through his nose. “Long legs. Usually.”
Hans finished scribbling, then leaned back in his saddle, looking entirely too pleased with himself. “Well. That’s more like it.”
