Swear jar-
A new problem presented itself. A challange.
"Everyone." He placed a jar on the desk. "This is a swear jar. Any time any of you curse, a coin will be added to the jar. Each coin represents a punishment that you will all have to endure." Aizawa grinned. The class had a strong sense of foreboding. "I have spoken to your other teachers. They are cooperating with me. If one of you swears, I will find out."
The protests came in a massive wave. Most of which were about Bakugo, who often curses like a sailor. Bakugo's response was to flip them off.
Aizawa added a coin to the jar.
"Punishments will begin at the end of each day. Heroes are often forced to work in teams. One person's actions can affect the entire team and force all of them to face the consequences. You are all a team. You will face the consequences together."
"I expect you to all take this seriously. Each coin represents a mark on your reputation as a hero. I am aware that everyone swears from time to time. Yes Midoriya, even All Might. However, even minor curses can be replicated by young fans and lead to angry letters and a plummet in your popularity. Those of you who intend to make a name for yourselves should be cautious. The media can turn any small problem into a scandal."
And so it began. From then on, people attempted not to swear. As hard as they might try, sometimes it just slipped out. Like when Uraraka stubbed her toe or when Kirishima realised he forgot to bring his homework. Old habits die hard. Bakugo alone swore no less than twelve times. Unfortunately, Aizawa was always around and in the coins went.
The end of the day arrived quickly. "Seventeen. That isn't surprising but still much higher then I would like. You will now have to carry out seventeen punishments. Today won't end until they are all completed." The class groaned. They were in for a long night.
A series of stretches and then it began:
1) laps of the entire school.
2) push-ups.
3) sit-ups.
4) squats.
5) pull-ups.
6) climbing up to the roof of the school from the outside.
7) sparring with eachother.
8) sparring against Aizawa as a group.
9) swimming laps of the school pool.
10) running up and down stairs.
11) jumping jacks.
12) balancing on one foot for five minutes whilst surrounded by caltrops.
13) climbing up very long ropes in the school gym.
14) running up and down a very steep hill.
15) balancing across narrow ledges at a height.
16) trying to capture a selected member of the group until everyone had been captured once.
17) trying to capture Aizawa.
Once Aizawa was captured successfully, they all breathed a sigh of relief. Number seventeen. Finally. Aizawa looked around, all of his students were absolutely exhausted, hungry and ached all over. Those with higher stamina seemed to be fairing better. Those with less looked about ready to pass out from exhaustion.
The corners of his mouth twitched upwards slightly. "Why are you all stopping?" The class froze. "This is the punishment regime you will follow for each coin. You have sixteen more to go." The class all groaned.
They all started again from the top. This was all pre-planed by Aizawa. Yes, having seventeen tasks was a deliberate decision to have them all believe they were done.
Whilst focussed on the main task, this punishment doubled as training everyones physical and mental strengths. Having to start over from the beginning after getting so far was difficult. Working so hard and then feeling relief flood them when they were finally done, only to hear that they have much more to do was harder still. Getting no sleep whilst doing something so physically exhausting sixteen times was torture. Being aware of the fact that this awaits them every time they do something that they do out of habit is soul crushing. But they need to learn to keep going no matter what. It will definetely also make them hesitate before swearing.
They ran, climbed and worked hard until nearly five am. By the end, all of them looked ready to collapse from exhaustion. Satisfied, he allowed them all to leave.
The next morning he walked in to class feeling more cheerful than he appeared. All of his students were barely awake. Some had fallen asleep at the desks and others were drifting, only to snap awake a second later. He allowed them all to nap until their next class began. Something they all found very easy to do.
Later that day, there was an arguement. It was over something small but grew heated. Bakugo swore on impulse, he then cursed because he swore. Jiro cursed under her breath but it was overheard. Three more coins.
When the coins were added, Bakugo exploded, both figuratively and literally. By the end of it, Aizawa added five more coins to the jar, resulting in a frustrated swear from Bakugo. The ninth coin was added. The whole class glared in Bakugo's direction. Bakugo was glaring at Aizawa.
The end of the day came. "Nine swears. Better but still nine too many. Everyone begin." Sero swore. "It has just been raised to ten." They all ran, climbed and swam through all of the tasks. By the end they all looked like zombies. Aizawa dismissed them all. The number was going down.
The next day started off the same. A necessary nap at the start. After a while, there were accidental swears as a result of anger, pain or tiredness. The number had increased to twenty two. The majority of which were caused by Bakugo.
Bakugo was like a tightly wound string. He was boiling with anger, grumpy from tiredness and likely to snap at anyone who dared to look at him, teacher or student. He was frustrated and his usual way too release frustration and anger was through shouting, swearing and exploding.
Kirishima went up to him. "Hey man." The response he recieved was a growl. Kirishima sat next to him anyway, placing his lunch tray on the table. Bakugo glared at him. He wanted to be alone and didn't trust himself to speak. They were already at twenty two coins, he didn't want to bring it up to twenty three.
"You really suck at this no swearing thing, huh." "Fuck you! -Shit!" Aizawa was eating nearby, specifically to monitor his classes swearing. "Heard that." Aizawa grinned. Bakugo rested his head on the desk. He groaned, though it sounded more like a growl.
Kirishima wasn't looking forward to the end of school and wanted to help. "Dude, it's fine... just chill out." Bakugo started banging his head on the table out of sheer frustration.
"Why don't you try using words that sound like curses. Works for me. Just say fudge or sugar or something like that." Bakugo grunted in response. The rest of the day passed in silence.
"Twenty four. I don't think we will have time to complete this before class in the morning so whatever isn't completed today will be carried on tomorrow." Already thoroughly exhausted, the class began. They were too tired to object and complain and had to be woken up and spurred on several times throughout.
The next day the jar started off with four coins in. All were left over from yesterday. The class were all asleep before Aizawa could even begin. Aizawa let them sleep.
Halfway through homeroom, Kaminari woke up. He noticed the four coins in the jar. Frustrated, he stormed over to Bakugo who was asleep. He grabbed Bakugo by the collar and punched him. "The fu-?!" Bakugo forcefully bit his own tongue hard enough to draw blood. "This is all your fault!" Kaminari shouted. Bakugo punched him back, his hands aflame. By now everyone was awake.
Following this was a lot of brawling and shouting. However, not a single curse was uttered. Aizawa didn't intervene, sometimes people needed a release. Twenty minutes later, the classroom was trashed and everyone was too tired to continue.
The day passed quietly. No one swore and everyone was careful. The end of the day came and they all went outside for punishment. Four coins in the jar from yesterday.
"Fifty swears in total. However you have all managed to go a full day without swearing. Well done." Aizawa was proud. Not a single curse was said throughout the whole day. Bakugo had even stopped himself from swearing after being punched. "Help me fix the classroom and then you can all go home."
"We still have four coins left. Shouldn't we finish those?" Iida pointed out. "Don't remind him!" Ashido complained. Aizawa put his hands in the jar and removed the coins. "Do you want to do the remaining four?" "No!" Was the unanimous response. "You went a day without swearing and can refrain from doing so when necessary. The lesson is over."
And so they went inside. Aizawa placed the jar on the table as a reminder for all of them. They all began to clean. Izuku was moving a table when dropped it on his toe. "Fuck!..." He shouted. Everyone stared, stunned. "Did Deku just?-..." Uraraka asked. " I-it's Bakugo's fault!" Izuku defended, flustered. The bad influence in question responded with his usual: "Shut up! Stupid nerd!" Everyone laughed.
