Chapter Text
“Welcome to Townsville again, Princess.” Blossom says as she continues to look at her documents, barely sparing the girl a glance. She rolls her eyes, then walks over to Blossom as the Crown Princess just ignores her and continues on with her work.
Princess Morbucks, the Queen of the Kingdom of Jeweiren was crowned queen a year ago due to her dad's rather unfortunate and sudden death. A funeral was not held, and Princess just ordered for her father to be cremated, just as he had wanted. Then, she had started immediately on her queenly duties, since her father had just died and the kingdom needed a ruler.
So, technically, Princess was supposed to be labelled a rather confusing name actually, and that was none other than-
"It's Queen Princess, darling. It was hard enough getting my staff to call me that, I can't have you messing up as well." She tuts as she puts a finger on Blossom's lips, causing the red haired girl to finally look up at her friend in front of her.
"Fine, welcome to Townsville again, Queen Princess." She says monotonously as Princess smiles contently, then looks around the large room, which the girls call their study room.
Princess, who was just a year older than her fellow princess friends of Townsville, visited the Kingdom of Townsville rather often back when her father was still alive. Her father and King Utonium had been close friends, and had even offered Princess a place to stay when her kingdom came down with a ghastly flu just a couple of months ago.
Of course, Princess being the amazing Queen she was, stayed by her people's sides, and brought them through the flu. Blossom was honestly surprised when she had heard that from Princess' letters, since Princess was always one to run away from her problems when she was younger.
To Blossom, seeing Princess ascend the throne was already shocking enough.
As for Princess, she was confident that Blossom could take on the throne with utmost confidence and power, and lead the Kingdom well. Of course, that was if Blossom could find a husband, of course.
Princess wasn't going to lie, despite her frequent visits to the Kingdom of Townsville, and her father's familiarity with the princesses' father, she wasn't very fond of King Utonium. One main reason was because of the marriage rule .
The marriage rule was a rule that bound all 3 princesses, especially Blossom. The dreadful marriage rule was a rule that King Utonium setup years ago, which stated that a Crown Princess needed to be married by 18 in order to ascend the throne. Princess, even in all her confusion and narcissism, knew that the only reason King Utonium started this rule was to ensure he would be King for a longer time than intended.
He loved power, it was a well known fact. Though Princess acknowledges his love for power, she also acknowledges that that marriage rule was absolutely heartless. She knew Blossom was a hardhearted girl, and she didn't like to open up her heart easily. The fact that her own father was using it against her? It was absolutely disgusting .
"How are you holding up, Blue?" She turns to ask Bubbles, trying to get her mind away from the negativity clouding her mind. Bubbles hums, looking closer at a cross stitch she had just made.
"Wonderfully. Did I tell you that my old friend is coming to the masquerade ball?" Ah, the masquerade ball. The one event she could stand going, and the only reason was because of her girls. They've been friends for a while, it didn't hurt to catch up occasionally.
“Oh, really? Who?”
“Don’t expect too much, Princess.” Buttercup chips in suddenly as Bubbles rolls her eyes at her middle sister, then shakes her head.
“You’re so mean, Buttercup.” she turns back to Princess, then passes her a polaroid. “He’s absolutely lovely. Prince Boomer of the Kingdom of Ethirea.” Bubbles continues as Princess takes the photograph, then tries not to visibly cringe.
Buttercup was right, she really shouldn’t have had high expectations. Prince Boomer, who’s from a kingdom he’s heard of and does trades with, doesn’t seem anything like his older brother, the crown prince of Ethirea, Brick Jojo. Boomer definitely didn’t have looks to his advantage in this 6 year old photograph, but she’s sure he had tons of personality.
Of course, if that was what Bubbles went for in men.
Then again, to give him the benefit of the doubt, this photograph was nearly 6 years old. Surely he’d changed since then, right?
She pauses. Possibly .
Her older brother, like she said before, did trades and agreements with her. While Prince Brick Jojo was unnaturally attractive in a stoic, brooding kind of way, he wasn’t particularly friendly or attractive in the way he acted. Sure, he was handsome looking, but his personality was absolutely shitty , if she was being honest.
He was rude, silent, and only talked whenever his parents told him to speak. She would even go as far as to label him as a ‘mommy’s boy’, only speaking when HIM forced him to. It was absolutely torturous doing business with them.
Her reasoning, that Boomer was the one with the nice personality, was that if Brick had the looks and not the charm, surely Boomer had the charm, and not the looks. But then again, it was just an assumption.
“Princess,” she turns to whoever had called her--Buttercup--it seemed. “Your servants are still standing here. And Nice Shoes over here is oddly close.” she adds as Buttercup shoves one of Princess’ servants away from her.
‘Nice Shoes’, one of Princess’ servants that she oddly can’t remember the name of, steps away from Buttercup, still holding onto Princess’ luggage. Princess lets out an irritated sigh, then turns to her head butler, John, a middle-aged man who has served her since her father’s reign. “John.” she says as John nods, then leads the rest of the servants down the hallway that he knows oh so well.
“How’s my rival?” Princess asks as Buttercup snickers, shrugging.
“Blossom has been the most involved with her recently. She’s been designing our dresses for the ball.” Buttercup states as if on cue, Robin, Princess’ self-acclaimed ‘rival’, enters the room, curtseying before looking up, then immediately locks her eyes with Princess.
A mini scowl crosses her face before she puts on her smile again, moving to Bubbles.
“Your majesty, I have helped to alter your dress. Would you like to see it?” she asks as Bubbles gasps, shooting up from her seat. Nodding, she follows Robin out the hall, the latter barely sparing Princess a glance.
Princess turns her nose up, rolling her eyes as Blossom does the same. “I don’t know what you two are always at heads about.” she says as Princess scoffs, then takes a seat on Bubbles newly empty seat.
“She’s my rival in terms of our relationship with you three. While I’m best friends with all three of you, Mitch is my rival when it comes to Buttercup, and Robin is my rival when it comes to both you and Bubbles. Clearly Robin is winning these few rounds.” Princess mumbles as Buttercup just lets out a scoff.
“You’re definitely winning Mitch though. He’s been out patrolling and training these past few days while dad forces me to stay at home and study, and he’s barely come to visit me during his breaks. So much for being a ‘best friend’.” Buttercup mumbles bitterly as Princess smirks, hiding it badly under her palm.
“Are you telling me you miss Mitchy boy?” she coos as Buttercup glares at her, and Princess immediately stops smirking, bowing her head.
“Apologies, Princess Buttercup. I did not mean to make such an insensitive joke, and I now acknowledge that it can cost me my position as Queen of Jeweiren.” Princess answers sarcastically as Buttercup chucks one of her pillows at Princess’ head, causing the teenager to let out a laugh as even Blossom snickers.
Princess barely contains a smile as she looks between her friends, then down at her hands.
It feels amazing to be back here, since it basically felt like her second home. To add on, she was glad she was here to witness one of the most important decisions of her friends’ lives, especially since it involved boys, one of her many specialities.
