Chapter Text
Katsuki walked into his apartment, hearing sounds of laughter erupting inside. He swiftly kicked off his shoes, tossing them aside before following the noise.
“I'm home,” Katsuki yelled, as he walked into the living room watching his long-time friend play with his daughter. Even if Katsuki didn't talk to Kirishima as much since he and Mina got together, he could always rely on his red-haired friend for emergency school pick-ups.
“Kats, your back!” Eijirou smiled standing up to greet him.
“Papa!” The young blond girl cheered, jumping into Katsukis's arms.
“Kimi!” Katsuki cheered with the same amount of enthusiasm his daughter gave off. He quickly picked her up in his arms, pressing a small kiss to her cheek before turning back to Kirishima.
“Thanks for picking her up, had to finish that dumbass report before they let me go,” Katsuki explained
Usually, Katsuki was pretty good about picking up his daughter but there were some days he couldn't make it on time. Some random villains attack, making him late, paperwork, and god forbid hospital trips. Hero's work would get in between him and his fatherly responsibilities.
“It's all good man. She was telling me about her day at school, and it turns out she made a friend.” Kirishima explained his finger pressing on the young girl's stomach making her howl in laughter. “I'll see you guys later.”
“See you later, shitty hair”.
Katsuki turned back to the small blonde smiling girl in his arms, looking at him with the brightest eyes.
“So? You made a new friend?” Katsuki asked knowing she would want to start talking about it as soon as she could.
Katsuki was never one to believe in Karma but he didn't know how else to explain the current situation he was in. When Katsuki first got the news Kimiko was quirkless he laughed about it. Nothing was going to change his perception of his daughter. He still loved her, with all his heart quirk or no quirk. But the irony of the situation was uncanny.
Pro hero, single dad, father of a quirkless child.
The universe did work in stupid mysterious ways, how in the hell did he go from the bully of a quirkless kid to his quirkless kid getting bullied?
Katsuki did his best to protect her from the discrimination but there's only so much he could do. He moved Kimiko schools 3 times throughout the year but every school was the same. The same little blonde joyful girl came home crying because no one wanted to play with her on the playground. Calling her a freak and a weirdo for being the daughter of a pro hero but yet having no quirk herself.
After dozens of times of watching his daughter come home crying he decided to place her in a private school. Sure it was better than any public school but she still had no friends. The teasing wasn't bad or at least that is what Kimiko said but no one wanted to befriend the broken quirkless child.
“YEAH!” The young girl cheered, gesturing for her dad to put her down.
“She's so cool! She's new! She transferred from America! Her dad was working over the ocean! But now he's back in Japan! She's staying here!” Kimiko exclaimed excitedly using her hands to narrate the story
“Her dad was working overseas?” Katsuki asked guessing that's what his daughter was trying to say when she said 'over the ocean'
“No I'm pretty sure he was working over the ocean but that's not important! I told her I wanted to be a hero like my papa! And you know what she said! You know what she said! Papa guess what she said!”
“Did the brat say something mean?” Katsuki asked a little wary about the new classmate his daughter was talking about. This had happened before, kids were nice and would befriend Kimiko before knowing she was quirkless. Once they found out they would drop her.
“No! She asked what my quirk was and I told her I didn't have one. I thought she would say something mean like everyone else but Papa! She said it would be scary if I was a hero by myself so she told me she'd be my sidekick!” Kimiko said, tripping over her words because of how excited she was.
“I like this girl already,” Katsuki said smiling, he shouldn't be getting his hopes up over this one 6-year-old kid, he still hadn't met but Kimiko was just so happy. Hell, he was happy his daughter finally made her first friend. What parent wouldn't be happy about that?
“She didn't tell me I couldn't do it or I was broken! No papa! She told me she would be my sidekick. Then I said she should be my partner and she said yes! We're gonna be superhero partners! The world's best superheroes!” Kimiko said jumping towards Katsuki
Katsuki picked her up and swung her around before settling her on his hip. “You think you and your new little friend can be better than me? You're gonna have to train super hard firecrackers.”
“We will! She's soooo cool. She has red eyes like me! I told her we were like sisters and she said yes, but only if she got to be the older sister so she could protect me from the bullies.”
Okay, Katsuki was starting to love that kid, she respected his brat's dream, didn't talk shit about her and she said she would protect Kimiko. Katsuki needed to give that unknown brat a pat on the back or something.
“So what's her name?’ Katsuki asked, realizing he's been listening to Kimiko talk about his girl but she still had yet to mention her name.
Kimiko stopped jumping around excitedly staring at the floor, her expression becoming sad. “I-I I don't know! I forgot to ask!”
“Hey, stop that, don't get all depressed on me now. You can just ask her tomorrow right?” Katsuki asked
“Yeah!”
The rest of the afternoon, Katsuki listened to the story of how the unknown girl saved his daughter from being bullied by her classmates.

“Mom, I know. Don't worry so much. Yeah. Okay got it. I need to go pick up Yuki from school. No, I start hero work in a few days.”
Izuku was waiting outside the school gates, he had got the times mixed up which meant he had shown up way too early, and since he was already at the school he couldn't do much besides wait until it was time for the children to be let out.
It's been about 8 years since Izuku had run away from Japan going overseas and it's been 6 years since he gained a daughter from a one-night stand.
Izuku heard the school bell, watching as all the children walked out to meet their parents. Izuku watched the sea of children looking for green bouncy curly hair trying to spot his own.
As soon as he saw the green curly hair he waved his hand yelling out “Yuki!"
“Daddy!” The girl yelled back running towards him before stopping to look back and waving goodbye to a little blond girl he could only assume was her classmate.
Izuku spread out his arms letting the little girl run into his arms. “How was your first day sweetheart?” Izuku asked, grabbing onto her hand as they began their walk to the apartment.
Izuku had made a big name for himself in America breaking into the top 10 before the age of 20. But that was in America sure some people might know who he was if they kept tabs on heroes from different countries but as far as Izuku knew he would have to start all over. That meant a new debut, new fans, and new interviews. As for right now, Izuku enjoyed walking on the streets without being bombarded with cameras and fans.
“It was fun! I made a friend.” Yuki Announced “People were bullying her. I don't think she had any friends.”
Izuku gave her a puzzled look. “What makes you think that? Why were they making fun of her?”
“She was quirkless, people were calling her names and being so mean! But it's okay Daddy I set them straight!” Yuki said, slapping her fist to the palm of her hand.
“Yuki I'm so proud of you for sticking up for your classmate!” Izuku cheered, picking up his daughter and spinning her around before quickly setting her down. “As much as I love that, please don't make me go to the office because you got into a fight........but if you have to fight a few 6-year-olds to protect your friend, don't hurt them too badly.”
Yuki smiled, agreeing with Izuku's statement.
“You know she wants to be a hero?” Yuki said
“That's awesome! I bet she'd make a really good hero!” Izuku smiled.
“Yeah, I told her I'd be her sidekick. She looked kinda surprised when I said that though, she's a crybaby, and kinda clingy.” Yuki continued “You like her?” Izuku questioned
“Mhm yeah, she's nice. Kimi and I are going to be best friends.” Yuki Announced “Even if she is a crybaby. She cried like 100,000 times! But that's probably because people were always mean to her so Imma forgive her.”
Izuku rolled his eyes, he had no idea where his daughter picked up the confidence and stubborn attitude. It certainly wasn't him.
