Tonks is happy!
Yesterdays Order meeting had her again partner up with Remus for today's mission.
Ever since they meet, she was taken by him. The way his eyes lit up when he told stories of the Maurader's adventures in Hogwarts or the way he looked at her had her captured every single time.
And tonight would again be spent in each other's company. Tonks couldn't wait to learn more about the bookish Professor and was trying to gain enough courage to ask him out on a coffee.
Simultaneously Remus was nervous!
For weeks now, he couldn't stop thinking about the colorful Auror, who was so fiercely demanding everyone to use her last name. The way she seemed to fill every room she walked in had him stunned again and again. When she laughed and her nose inflated, he couldn't stop his staring. Indeed he was pretty sure that because of this, she by now had him put into the category: creepy and insane werewolf. He was still wondering why she hadn't asked Mad-Eye to stop putting them together on the mission's plan. Although he had an internal celebration every time, they were.
So on only half an hour later, Remus heard the sound of Walburga Black's portray coming to life, indicating that he and Sirus weren't alone in the old house. Before he could even react, Sirius was on his feet to help whoever had the unfortunate run-in with his mother. And as Remus had predicted, Sirus was followed by the very same person he couldn't stop musing about.
Tonks greeted him with a nervous 'Hi' and sat down on the other side of the table. 'Sirius, why haven't you moved the umbrella stand by now. I mean you, live in this house for what three weeks now and, I can't be the only one, who is constantly tripping over that rudy thing.' Tonks demanded. 'No Tonksie Only, you were clumsy enough to do that so far.' Sirus returned, which left Tonks glaring at him, 'Call me that one last more and, I might let loose some hexes onto the dame portray so that it doesn't stop shrieking!'. 'Please, don't that, would punish me as well, dear Nymphadora.' Remus joked. To both his and Sirus's amazement, his use of her first name wasn't commented.
Tonks was morphing so the boys, especially Remus, couldn't see the blush creeping into her face when he used her first name. The same word she found enraging whenever someone else used it sounded enjoyable from his lips. Her mind directly thinking, how it would sound mumbled from the same lips in the heights of passion.
Before she could notice that she hadn't scolded Remus for it, or Remus could think more about the lack of comment, Sirius asked what they had planned on the mission.
Shortly after explaining to Sirius what they had planned for the night, Remus and Tonks stood up from the table to leave. They were keeping tabs on a known Death Eaters house tonight and had to be there when he came home from work which would be in about 20 minutes.
They left Grimmauld Place and moved into the park on the other side of the street. ' Wanna go side-along with me' Remus asked Tonks and offered her his arm to take. With a small smile, she took his hand, and in the next second, they were in the woods next to their target's house.
Tonks going upfront, they went to a group of bushes in front of the living room windows, where they had planned to settle down to make sure no one would notice them they put up a couple of charms before they took a seat next to each other.
For a while, they just sat there, looking into the night sky, waiting for their target to arrive, but after a couple of minutes, Tonks just couldn't take the silence any longer. 'So, why exactly is there no Mrs. Lupin in your life?' she asked, wanting to make sure that she hadn't missed anything. Remus attempted to laugh, 'Are you serious? I mean, you must know that most girls aren't really into poor, bookish werewolves. And anyway, I never really was interested in any girl enough to ask her out.'. This statement had Tonks slightly discouraged, 'Had she missed that he wasn't into girls and read all signals wrong?' so instead, she wanted to take up a safe topic for both of them, Sirus. ' I never thought that someone who had to spend as much time with Dementors as Sirus would be as sane as he is.', she said. 'Where was that going now' Remus thought, 'Was she into Sirus?'.
'I mean, he's still handsome, isn't he, even after Azkaban?', Tonks explained. 'He always got the woman.' Remus answered he was disappointed she seemed to really have been falling for Sirius. 'Are you mad? You'd know perfectly well who I've fallen for if you weren't too busy feeling sorry for yourself to notice.'. 'What exactly was that supposed to mean?'. Suddenly Remus's mind was overflowing with images of the last couple of weeks, analyzing that she indeed was always seeking him out.
Tonks watched his face change from a frown into a slow smile and found that he suddenly looked younger than his age, happy free! Out of a sudden spike of bravery, she closed the distance between them and let their lips touch. After a second, Remus responded which nearly as much vigor, lips opening under each other, tounges sliding against each other. Both had never expired something like that at, a first kiss the synch they had was fantastic. When they finally separated, they were both gasping for air. ' I think we should stop!' Remus said, watching a now pouting Tonks. 'No, no, no, not because I didn't like it, but I don't fancy telling Mad-Eye that we don't know what the Death Eaters did tonight because we were too busy kissing! Let's talk about it later because I will not stop doing that with you any time soon. What do you have planned for tomorrow night? I mean, you are probably busy, but I really would like to spend time with you.' 'No, no, tomorrow is perfect! I couldn't imagine spending my evening with someone else.' Tonks stopped his rambling.
