Chapter Text
Schlatt was a busy man. Always bouncing between meetings, paperwork, and planning, he never really had time for himself. It was exhausting, of course.
He leaned back in his chair and glanced at the clock, before looking at the calendar. No meetings. The paperwork was done, no upcoming conferences, nothing had to be done.
This was… new. For once he actually had time for himself, to do as he pleased.
After wasting a couple minutes deciding on what to do, he settled on admiring his country, and got ready.
--
False smiles covering blatant fear kept greeting Schlatt. Each time he returned the gesture, giving a wide cocky grin and wave. He loved seeing the fear in people's eyes, and chuckled to himself at the way they speed-walked away.
Although, it was getting old. It wasn't as fun anymore.
It's so predictable. It happens every single time a resident spots him. He was already sick of the mundane routine of work, he didn't want his free time to become like that too.
The scowl lost in thought plastered on his face softened as a sweet smell wafted through the air. It smelled like cinnamon and sugar, causing him to lick his lips. His ears perked up at it, turning his head towards the source. A quaint little bakery stood in front of him, with brick walls and little windows. A small wooden sign hung on the wall, reading 'Niki's Bakery'
Niki… that name sounded familiar. Shrugging it off, he pushed the door open and strolled inside. The scent intensified, fueling his hunger. Cute little shelves protruded out of the walls, holding baked goods on each one. A polished counter, with a glass case displaying cakes and biscuits beneath it, sat in the back. But, the most eye-catching "thing" stood behind it.
She had shoulder-length pastel pink hair with cute little clips decorating it. A messy white apron laid atop her yellow plaid blouse tucked into her jeans. A sweet, genuine smile was spread across her face as she handed a customer their order, before turning to the register.
He quickly averted his gaze once he realized he was staring, cursing himself under his breath. The door shut behind him. The customer was gone, and she was now humming while adjusting the delicacies inside the glass display.
He strutted towards the counter, leaning on it with one arm. Her head perked up, opening her mouth to greet him until her charming expression distorted into disgust.
"Get out."
Schlatt was taken aback by her harsh words, to say the least. His sly smirk faltered, "'Scuse me?-"
"You heard me, prick. Get out of my shop."
Her pretty little eyes peered at him, a clear disgust filling them. Cute nose scrunched up, mouth tugged back into a scowl.
A blatant disregard of consequences, prioritizing her morals and dignity. For once, someone had the balls to stand up to him. He knew it would happen eventually, but he always thought it would piss him off. Yet, she looked so cute while doing so.
"Oh yeah? Whatcha gonna do about it, princess?" He taunted her, loving her intense gaze fixed on him.
Her back straightened, gripping onto the countertop, seemingly trying to hold herself back from doing something she'd regret. She replied through gritted teeth, "I won't serve you, pig."
He hummed, "Listen sweetheart, usually I'd kill somebody for the way you're treatin' me. But I'm feelin' good today, so I'll make an exception just for you." She opened her mouth to respond only to be immediately cut off by Schlatt raising his pointer finger and continuing, "But- only if you spend the afternoon wit' me."
"I will not have sex with you, creep!" She shouted, taking a step back from said creep. Her breathing became faster, hands started shaking. "Hey hey hey- who said anything about sex?"
Her face turned a bit paler as she gulped. "Listen doll, all I'm suggestin' is a nice dinner. Y'know, candles, fancy silverware, expensive grub, the whole shebang."
"What do ya say?" He slyly smirked, waiting for her response.
'How could she possibly say no? It's either death or a nice meal. You'd have to be pretty stupid to-'
"Over my dead body."
Was it stupid? Absolutely. Was it still hot? Most definitely.
A wide grin crept up his face before he quickly covered it with a frown. With a dramatic sigh he turned on his heel, "Whatever ya say, princess."
Opening the door, he stepped outside and walked out of sight of the bakery's windows.
That was the most interesting event that had happened in a while. The repetitiveness of his life stopped, but only for a second. And the 'thing' that stopped it was that lady, Niki. He just had to see her again.
