Work Text:
The Angel’s Share was one of, if not the most popular tavern in Mondstadt, people from all over Teyvat making a long journey to taste its ever-popular Dandelion Wine.
As such, Diluc would often find Angel’s Share packed with customers. Though today happened to be one of those days where business was slow. This was usually the norm after Windblume, as people would be staying up late into the wee hours of the morning and would sleep in. Diluc didn’t mind, since it gave him some time to relax. Though this time, his mind drifted towards last night’s events.
In an unexpected turn of events, Eula Lawrence had decided to have a late dinner at the tavern which lead to some playful banter between them. Though that banter would later turn into something more as the night went on until the two of them decided to get frisky with one another at Favonius Cathedral of all places.
Diluc’s pale cheeks turned a light pink as the memories of their… time together came back at full force. Truth be told, he had begun to wonder if it was just some wild fever dream before going to bed last night. But the bruises, bite marks, and the long trail of deep scratch marks on his back pretty much confirmed that his night with Eula was indeed real and not just a figment of his imagination.
Only when he woke up did he realize the full extent of his exhaustion. His back stung from the deep scratch marks on his back, and certain parts of his body were sore. Of course, he also remembered that he and Eula didn’t bother to clean up the mess that they made on the pew and on the floor. They were too occupied with getting dressed and getting out of the cathedral to clean up their mess.
“Damn it. I just hope Barbara doesn’t faint when she sees the mess me and Eula made at the cathedral.”
The redhead pinched the bridge of his nose at the thought. Even he had to wonder why he didn’t have the foresight to at least try cleaning up their mess. It seems like Eula managed to get him to let his guard down and be more relaxed around her, careless even.
His thoughts then drifted to the Spindrift Knight, the last person he thought would be occupying his mind until last night. Diluc didn’t know what it was with her, but she succeeded in breaking through his defenses last night. He racked his brain for answers as he went through his memories, from Eula entering the bar, them walking to the cathedral, and of course, the actions that they did inside the cathedral.
Diluc shook his head, trying to clear the inappropriate thoughts that started to invade his mind.
“Focus Diluc,” he muttered to himself. “Enough thoughts about Eula’s body for now and mind out of the gutter.”
The wine tycoon took a deep breath. He decided his first conversation with Eula would be a great starting point. A small smile formed on his face as he remembered how Eula played dumb to his staring, pretending not to notice him, and then broke the illusion by addressing the looks he had given her. Their conversation seemed to flow seamlessly, and he actually enjoyed the woman’s company. It was a shame that Mondstadt saw her as nothing more than a monster in disguise, trying to
But how their conversation escalated into shameless fucking in Favonius Cathedral, he wasn’t quite sure himself. It alarmed Diluc how easily she made him let his guard down last night, to the point he was emptying his balls inside of her within her in just a matter of hours.
That realization made Diluc pinch the bridge of his nose. Did he regret having sex with Eula? No, definitely not. He enjoyed it to be exact. Did he regret finishing inside her three times last night? He was… not sure himself. It was enjoyable for sure, and Diluc had the time of his life last night. But then there was now the looming possibility that Eula was pregnant with his child. At that thought, images of him and Eula with their potential son or daughter flashed through his mind. He imagined the three of them so happy with one another, not a care in the world as they played in a field just outside of Mondstadt.
“It’s a nice thought.”
Diluc shook his head. He shouldn’t be thinking thoughts like this. To call it silly would be an understatement. It was straight-up absurd to think that Eula would ever want to start a family with him. Sure, they got intimate last night, but he was positive it was a one-time affair, never to be brought up again. He couldn’t even figure out what possessed him to go that far with the Lawrence heiress.
Was it lust? It definitely played a part but it felt like there was something else in the picture. Something he couldn’t quite figure out yet.
“You are something else, Eula Lawrence.” Diluc said to no one in particular. A sigh escaped his lips as he proceeded to clean up some glasses to distract his thoughts from the beautiful outcast.
Just when Diluc was gaining some semblance of peace, the tavern doors opened. The tycoon couldn’t help but shake his head. Seems like whenever he was thinking he could have some peace, someone would come in and break that illusion. He could already feel a migraine forming in his head when he saw who the newest patron was.
“Well, well Master Diluc. Slow day hmm?” Kaeya said with his infuriating grin, eye swimming with mischief.
“What do you want Kaeya?”
Kaeya placed a hand on his chest, feigning hurt. “Ah, you wound me Diluc. Can’t I just drop by to say hello to my favorite brother in the whole wide world?”
Diluc scoffed at his adopted brother’s sarcasm. It seems like whenever Kaeya was around, things would never get peaceful.
“On a more serious note, I’d like a Death After Noon,” Kaeya said as he made himself comfortable on one of the barstools.
Diluc gave him a grunt before heading off to work on his brother’s drink. As he got to work, he took notice of Kaeya’s blue hair. “Huh. Blue. Just like Eula’s. But hers is way lighter in color…”
There it was again. Eula Lawrence was once again invading his thoughts. Diluc let out a growl as he shook his head desperately trying to think of anything other than the Spindrift Knight. He hoped that Kaeya didn’t notice him acting weird, but alas it wasn’t the case. The Cavalry Captain was now looking at him with a raised eyebrow. Diluc grits his teeth, trying to act like nothing happened a while ago, and placed Kaeya’s drink in front of him. His brother was now staring at him, curiosity apparent in his uncovered eye.
“Something appears to be bothering you Diluc. Care to tell me what it is?” Kaeya said after taking a sip of his drink.
Another sigh escaped Diluc’s lips. “It’s nothing you should be concerned about.”
Kaeya shrugged. “Whatever you say.”
The redhead stared at his brother but elected to say nothing. He leaned against the counter, staring into space and content with the silent atmosphere between him and his estranged brother.
“Business is slow today, huh?” Kaeya said attempting to break the silence.
“Yeah. You’ve already mentioned that a while ago.” Diluc said nonchalantly. “It’s always like this the day after Windblume.”
“Hmm. You’ve got a point. So what did you do last night?” Kaeya asked before having a mocking look on his face. “Wait, wait. I already know what you did. You just stayed in your bedroom with a glass of grape juice and read a book. Gods, Diluc, learn to live a little. You might remain a virgin for the rest of your life”
The redhead sent a glare at his brother who now wore a smug grin on his face. “If only you knew what happened last night.”
Diluc clicked his tongue at his brother, his annoyance with him growing with every passing second. “What does it matter to you if I get laid or not? I never pester you about your bedroom life. I’d appreciate it if you’d do the same.”
A laugh erupted from his brother as he wiped a tear from his eye. “Ah, Diluc. You might as well be a saint with how innocent you are. You’re missing out, you know? Why, me and Rosaria did the deed last night and it was incredible.”
As much as he hated hearing Kaeya’s intimate encounters with the nun in graphic detail, he had to admit that it was helpful. How else did he know how to proceed with Eula last night despite being a virgin? Despite that, Diluc was in no mood to hear the vulgar stories of Kaeya today.
“Damn it, Kaeya. I’ve got no interest in what you do with Sister Rosaria, or frankly, with anyone you bed.” Diluc said through gritted teeth as he felt his temper slowly rising. To his dismay, Kaeya only laughed at him some more.
“Ah dear brother. I pity you, I really do. Maybe if you actually went out of your shell, you’d finally get a taste of a woman’s touch.”
“Kaeya…” Diluc warned in a dangerously low tone. The captain raised his hands in surrender, having decided that he had had enough of teasing his brother for now. The bartender sent one last glare at his brother before shaking his head and busying himself with whatever he could do to distract himself.
Silence once again filled the tavern as Diluc got to work on cleaning some of the tables, but the familiar sound of opening tavern doors caught the attention of both men. It revealed another regular at the tavern, Sister Rosaria herself.
Seeing his new customer, Diluc wasted no time to get back behind the bar. Diluc waited for Rosaria to take a seat before he asked her what she wanted.
“Some Dandelion Wine would suffice,” Rosaria said as she sat down on the barstool, a look of annoyance on her face. Kaeya was quick to notice this and wasted no time asking her what was wrong.
“What’s with the sour look on your face?” Kaeya said as he turned his body to face the nun. Rosaria let out a deep sigh at his question.
“Barbara fainted a while ago. While she was cleaning, she found some fluids on the pew and a nearby pillar. Upon closer inspection, it was cum and Barbara screamed her lungs out and proceeded to faint. Apparently, someone decided it would be a great idea to have sex inside the cathedral of all places and Sister Victoria forced me to clean up the mess.” Rosaria finished with an annoyed huff.
Diluc was thanking Barbatos that he was facing away from the two cryo wielders because he was sure his face was the same color as his hair. The bartender took some time to cool himself down first before serving Rosaria’s drink. He had no intention of approaching them while looking red as a strawberry.
Once he had deemed himself calm enough, he returned to serve Rosaria’s drink. The nun gave him a nod of thanks for her drink and took a swig, savoring the wine’s flavor.
“Nothing like a chill glass of wine after an annoying day at work.”
Kaeya laughed at the nun’s words. He was clearly amused by the situation at Favonius Cathedral. He also took a sip of his drink before he started conversing with Rosaria.
“Well, I find this situation to be hilarious. I don’t know what could have crossed the minds of the couple to decide Favonius Cathedral would be a great place for sex. Even I’m not that daring, aren’t I right Rosie?” Kaeya said as he wiggled his eyebrows.
The nun rolled her eyes, but her mouth slowly curved into a small smile. “I don’t know. Just thinking about it is pretty amusing in its own right.” Though Rosaria’s smile disappeared as she let out a groan.
“But I also had to be the one who brought Barbara into one of the rooms so she could recover right after cleaning that mess. Sister Victoria went crazy and kept screaming that Barsibato would smite whoever did this. Today was such a drag.” Rosaria finished as she buried her face in her palms.
Kaeya sent her a sympathetic smile as he gently rubbed her back, a gesture that Diluc guessed Rosaria was thankful for. The pleased sigh was a good enough sign. Diluc was content in letting Kaeya and Rosaria act like this in front of him if it meant no attention would be thrown his way.
The sight of his brother and the nun acting like this never failed to put a smile on his face, as small as it may be. Kaeya looked at Rosaria with a fondness that he never shows to anyone else, a sentiment that Rosaria shared. Diluc thought they looked good together, and he appreciated the fact that Rosaria looked after Kaeya’s back.
Diluc paid no mind to the banter that they were now sharing. As long as the pair stayed well-behaved, he saw no reason to keep an eye on them. The redhead closed his eyes as blue once again invaded his thoughts.
By this point, Diluc had just given up trying to steer his thoughts away from the Lawrence woman. He just accepted that he would have to go on with his day, with Eula living rent-free in his head.
Despite being business being slow for today, it didn’t stop the influx of customers. Soon enough, more and more patrons arrived and Diluc was thankful for the distraction. Eula Lawrence was soon pushed back in the farthest reaches of his mind as he got back into his bartender routine of cleaning tables, refilling drinks, and serving food without missing a beat. Just like he had trained himself to near perfection.
Fortunately, it proved to be a good enough distraction for him, and he hoped it would distract him until his shift ends.
*****
The tavern was calm once more, most of Diluc’s previous patrons having left already. Right now, there was exactly one patron and he seemed to be finished with his drink. As expected, the man stood up, complimented Diluc’s mixing ability, and paid his tab before leaving with a wave. Once again, Diluc was left all alone in his tavern.
Kaeya and Rosaria left a few hours ago to return to their respective duties but not before handing over their tabs for their drinks and strangely enough, Kaeya telling him to take care of himself. Seems like his distracted state was very obvious to his adoptive brother, and he let out a sigh of frustration.
Taking out his pocket watch, Diluc noticed that it was only 8:15 in the evening. Now that public service amenities were back on their regular schedules, Diluc still had a few hours left before closing time. He decided to busy himself with tidying up the tavern now that he knew not many people would be arriving.
The bartender got to work on mopping the floor and cleaning the tables with some water and soap. In times like this, Diluc found peace, helping him relax after a long day of work. He savored these times as it allowed him to think about important things, like how he could best defend Mondstadt and such.
Again, he found himself thinking about Eula. He found it alarming how he failed to tear his thoughts away from the beautiful blue-haired woman, and it frustrated him. As far as Diluc was concerned, it might simply be a one-time affair, never to be spoken of again. But despite that, Diluc was well aware of the consequences of their actions last night. He couldn’t help but sigh at his current predicament.
“No point in worrying right now.”
Now that he was done cleaning the table and washing the glasses and dishes, he decided to return back to his place behind the counter and took out the same book he was reading the previous night before. Diluc scanned the words, trying to focus on the story but scowled when he couldn’t as his thoughts stubbornly kept going back to Eula. So he tried, and tried, and tried until he just set the book back in his coat pocket in defeat.
He stared at the ceiling, trying desperately to think of anything other than Eula, but the opening of the tavern doors broke him out of his thoughts.
Diluc felt like the gods were playing games with him right now because the woman he had been thinking about all day was walking straight towards him, a small smile in place of her usual haughty expression on her face. Eula gracefully pulled out a stool and sat down, resting her arms on the counter.
The bartender swallowed the sudden lump that formed in his throat and cleared it, shifting back into business mode. “Good evening, Miss Lawrence. What can I get you today?”
Eula raised a brow at him before telling him her order. “Dandelion Wine please.”
Again, Diluc got to work as he prepared Eula’s drink. He grabbed a cup from one shelf, a bottle of dandelion wine on another, and scooped up a few ice cubes, and put it inside the cup. With a few swift movements, Diluc had placed Eula’s cup of dandelion wine without missing a beat. The knight proceeded to thank him and took a sip of her cup. With nothing better to do, Diluc leaned back against the between the two shelves and crossed his arms, making sure to look at anywhere other than Eula.
“I’m going on a 3-week expedition.”
Diluc turned his head to Eula, who was now looking at him. He had no idea what to say to her words as he tried deciphering her mood. What exactly did she want? Was Eula speaking without her vengeance facade or not? He really didn’t want to make assumptions right now. The bartender found himself increasingly getting frustrated at his sudden inability to read Eula’s body language. So as a result, he opted to say nothing.
Noting his reaction, Eula frowned. Why was he cold all of a sudden? Did last night mean nothing to him? Regaining her composure, she decided to question him again. She had no intention of dropping this, not until Diluc gave her a solid answer at least.
“Aren’t you going to say something, Diluc?”
“...”
Diluc’s continued lack of a response earned him a frustrated sigh from the noblewoman. She stood from her stool and moved to one that was positioned right in front of Diluc. Eula proceeded to lean on the bar counter, her chin resting on one hand as she simply stared at him. The bartender felt tense under her gaze, almost like she was scrutinizing every fiber of his being. He still avoided eye contact with the knight, but he was starting to wonder how long he could stand her continued staring.
Letting out a sigh, Eula suddenly got up from her chair, an action that immediately caught his attention. His eyes followed the knight as the clack of her heels made his heart start to race as she got closer and closer. Within moments, Eula was standing right in front of him, one hand resting on her hip as she stared him down.
“Diluc.”
The mere mention of his name was enough for Diluc to give Eula his full attention. She tilted her head as she looked at him again, her arms moving from her sides as they started snaking around his torso. He had been so distracted by the sensation of her arms that only now did he realize what was happening. Eula was once again within his personal space, the distance between their faces mere centimeters from one another. It took him a moment to realize that said distance was slowly decreasing.
It doesn’t take long before he feels the familiar sensation of her soft lips planted against his own. It almost makes Diluc give in completely as Eula gently kisses him, her hold on him getting tighter. The knight’s tongue makes its way inside his mouth as they exchange saliva with one another.
Eula moaned against him, the sound reverberating through his mouth. Diluc’s still conflicted mind screamed at him, but his body moved on its own and got even more intimate with one another, the blue-haired woman’s hands traveling across his body with her right hand settling on the growing tent in his pants. At this Eula breaks away and grins at him.
“It’s going to be so lonely for the next 3-weeks, wouldn’t you agree?” Eula asks him as she skillfully undid his belt and pants, her hands making their way inside his underwear. She buried her face in his neck, softly sucking on his skin and inhaling his scent. The knight found his smell to be quite pleasant, loving the way Diluc’s cologne mixed quite nicely with his natural musk.
Eula then guided his hand on her breast, letting it settle there. Diluc swallowed a gulp as he felt the soft mound within his palm, and he squeezed gently much to the blunette’s delight. She cupped his face with both hands and sent him a seductive grin.
“Won’t you make love to me before I go?”
In one graceful move, Eula’s hand travels back to his undone pants and frees his rock-hard cock, pumping it as she resumed making out with him. He let out a moan that only served to encourage Eula as she increased the pace of her pumping against the rod.
Their lips caught each other in another heated kiss as their bodies started getting hotter. Eula had already started the process of removing her accessories starting with her cape. Just as she was getting in the mood and started undoing her leotard, she was promptly stopped as the flustered redhead broke apart from her kiss and gently pushed her away. Eula sent Diluc a confused look, noting the conflicted expression on his face.
“Diluc?” Eula inquired as he slid his cock back inside his underwear and fastened his pants.
“Eula... “ Diluc breathed out as he gently pushed the woman away. A frown graced Eula’s lips, feeling disappointment which was soon followed by irritation.
“Why did you push me away?” The woman asked him. Diluc suddenly felt like he was treading on thin ice right now. Something in the back of his mind was telling him things weren’t going to end very well, but he steeled himself.
“I…”
“I what, Diluc?”
The redhead let out a long sigh that he had been holding for in for far too long. Eula had a very expectant look on her face which intimidated him but he gathered his nerves.
“I… I need time to think about this.” Diluc offered to her, but from her reaction, she was not satisfied with his answer at all. Once again, she cupped his face with her hands and stared at his eyes intently.
“Damn it, Diluc. I want this, I want you right now so bad. We won’t see each other for three weeks. So please tell me, what’s stopping you?”
Eula’s eyes barely hid her disappointment and frustration as she told him these words. She made her way back to him and placed her hands on his chest, slowly dragging one hand along his chest and sending electricity up his spine. Diluc swallowed the lump that had formed in his throat as he willed himself to look at her eyes.
"Don't you want me, Diluc?"
He simply looked at the knight for a few moments, nothing being said between them. Within that time, Eula attempted to kiss him again but he grabbed her shoulders in time to stop her and place some distance between them. This earned him a whine of protest and a cold glare from the woman.
“Eula please, don’t make this any harder for me.” Diluc told the knight with a sigh. The Reconnaissance Captain crossed her arms, and let out a sigh of her own. Diluc decided to take this as a chance to tell her his thoughts.
“About last night… to be honest I have no regrets. It was an amazing experience, especially since we gave each other our innocence.” Diluc looked at Eula with a fond smile as he said this, asking for her permission to continue. She raised a brow at him but beckoned for him to continue.
“I… I— damn it, Barbatos help me.” the redhead sputtered out as he tripped on his words and turned away from Eula to regain his cool. After a few deep breaths, he regained his composure and faced the female knight again.
“What happened last night, again, I have no regrets. While I am flattered that you came back to me tonight, I’m still very much unsure about our relationship. I… need time to think and sort my feelings out. So please understand.”
Upon finishing his explanation, Diluc hoped that it would be a good enough explanation to Eula. The woman in question kept her arms crossed but had her eyes closed. Every second that she remained silent nearly felt like an eternity to him. The longer he waited, the more anxious he got. So, he decided to speak but Eula beat him to it.
“Three weeks.”
Diluc blinked at Eula as she spoke. He watched as Eula set a hand on her hip and continued speaking.
“Like I said, I'll be gone for three weeks. That's more than enough time for you to sort things out, don't you think? You have that time period to get your act together. But once that time period is over, I shan‘t give you any more time. I will get what I want, Diluc Ragnvindr.” Eula said as she stopped mere inches away from him, her eyes set as an intimidating glare.
She looked him down head to toe one last time before deciding to make her way out of the bar and towards the tavern door. He couldn’t help but follow the sway of her hips at her every step, but he shook his head to clear his dirty thoughts.
“Your transgressions for tonight simply cannot be ignored. Mark my words, Diluc Ragnvindr, I will have my vengeance on you when I return.” Eula finished with a huff and opened the tavern doors. But before she exited the tavern, she decided to turn around and gave him a sickly sweet smile that made his stomach churn.
“Good night, Master Diluc.”
Diluc could do nothing but watch as the Spindrift Knight left and closed the doors to his tavern. He let out a breath that he didn’t know he was holding and his heart felt like it was hammering a hundred beats per second.
Her appearance tonight made that fragile line that held his feelings together unravel. Now, he felt like an emotional mess as he tried to figure out what would happen next between him and Eula.
“Archons help me..." Diluc said as he leaned against the bar counter and covered his face with his hands, somewhat dreading and anticipating what was to come when three weeks were finished. The Spindrift Knight was once again in his thoughts, her mental image seemingly taunting him.
"What have you done to me, Eula Lawrence?"
*****
Kaeya looked at the sleeping woman right next to him with affection in his eyes. He absolutely adored watching Rosaria sleep peacefully after an intense round of sex. For all her coldness, Rosaria was a good woman at heart, and he loved that about her.
The Cavalry Captain had slept with a good amount of men and women already, but if he were to be perfectly honest, none of them compared to Rosaria. For whatever reason, all of his previous partners seemed to lose their confidence when they felt his touch. Rosaria on the other hand? She knew how to take control, how to drive him wild with pleasure in ways no one else can do.
Of course, she was also one of, if not, his closest confidant. He was pleasantly surprised that for all her aloofness and attitude, Rosaria was a surprisingly good listener. For that reason, he never hesitated to be vulnerable with her, something that he rarely did with anyone else. The woman had even seen him drunk plenty of times for crying out loud.
Kaeya continued to watch the rhythm of her gentle breathing. The sight calmed his nerves and seeing her sleeping figure was something he would never get tired of. Though the sudden movement signaled to him that Rosaria was stirring from her sleep. Soon enough, he was looking at Rosaria’s pale magenta eyes.
Kaeya gave her an affectionate smile as he softly stroked her cheek. Rosaria closed her eyes at the affectionate gesture, humming in approval of his action. Feeling slightly mischievous, Kaeya decided to give her a light pinch on her cheek which got him a soft smack on the chest from the nun. Kaeya’s smile widened as he did it again with a bit more force. Rosaria responded by giving him a stronger smack on the chest.
“Kae, do that again and I swear to Bartobas I’m going to punch you.”
The Cavalry Captain chuckled. “Alright, alright. I’ve got no intention of getting punched or stabbed today, Sister Rosaria.”
Rosaria simply raised a brow at his response, but the slight turn of her mouth signaled that she found his words amusing. Kaeya simply watched as Rosaria moved and got on top of him, the captain lying on his back to accommodate her. The nun grabbed his hands and held them atop his head as she started kissing him roughly. Kaeya sighed in pleasure as their tongues danced with one another. They went on like this for a few minutes but eventually stopped when they needed oxygen.
The two of them laid back on his bed in companionable silence again, Kaeya slowly moving his hand to the crown of her head and gently stroking it. Rosaria let out a content hum, but as if remembering something, she stood up abruptly. Kaeya simply shot her a raised eyebrow, a sign that he wanted her to elaborate.
“Oh, that reminds me,” Rosaria said as she got off the sheets and walked over to her clothing. Kaeya’s eyes trailed her bare ass, the sway of her hips absolutely mesmerizing to him. The captain shook his head as he watched Rosaria bend down and take something from the pocket of her uniform. She produced what seemed to be a small zip lock bag and returned to him.
Kaeya looked at her with a raised eyebrow, though nonetheless curious. “What’s that?”
Rosaria smirked at his question. “Just two strands of hair I found on the site where our mystery couple had sex.”
The nun handed the plastic bag to Kaeya and observed it carefully. He turned on the light to the room to get a better look at the item. Taking a closer look, inside the bag were indeed two strands of hair, one blazing red, and the other a light shade of blue. He felt his jaw drop slightly and his uncovered eye widen at the realization.
“There’s only one man in Mondstadt with red hair like this and exactly one woman with this shade of blue hair.”
“So, what do you think?” Rosaria said as she sat down beside him.
“Rosie, are you thinking what I’m thinking?”
The woman raised a brow at him, but the unmistakable smirk on her lips told him that they were on the same page. Kaeya laughed as he decided to lay back down on his bed, inviting the nun to join him. Rosaria followed suit, making herself comfortable by lying her head on his chest. The two of them said nothing, content with each other’s company.
“Seems like my adorable brother isn’t such a saint after all.”
