There’s this… incessant beeping. It pierces your ears, and your jaw sets with annoyance.
Beep. Beep. Beep.
Another call, another duty to fulfill. Isn’t that what it always has been?
Beep. Beep. Beep.
You love them. You do. But there was truth beneath your friend’s words. Where you go, destruction and despair is in it’s wake. Even if you had killed the avatar yourself, you know it better than anyone else:
To live is to die. To suffer is to be human. To be human, is to be divine.
Though the worlds hold true, you can’t help but ache towards something… beyond this grandiosity.
Beep. Beep! Beep!
A little is left in the reservoir of your strength. You use that last drop to commit the first, selfish action, since your journey begun so long ago.
You push away the console.
Beep! Beep! B-
You hear reality warp as the remote is sent away through the aether. Your eyes close. Finally, what you have always wanted, but were never given the opportunity to indulge in.
Silence.
