Work Text:

It was chilly, a bit windy, not so perfect for a winter day. The trees bare of leaves and a bit of snow on the side roads. He tugged at his brown long coat, trying to not shiver from the cold. The sky appeared cloudy, maybe it might snow.

Jisung liked how his day had been so far. His boyfriends were at home, preparing to celebrate. Nothing too special, he'd say. He had given in his latest and most important pieces of music. These ones he held so dearest to his heart and he had submitted it for the world to hear.

His lovers knew that he'd be able to easily get these submitted and accepted to be aired. They never doubted his abilities. Along with being a lunar witch, music has helped so much. Half of his life had been because of music. The other being his lovers.

He walked out the building and towards the parking lot, into the car, strapping the seat belt and just then his phone rang.

"Hey!" He connected the call with the car on Bluetooth.

"Hey sung! How'd it go?"

Minho's excited voice rang and jisung could hear the rattling of utensils and the rushing. His grin grew bigger knowing how they were preparing to celebrate his success in getting his precious song to be aired.

"They got accepted! Both of them! They'd air them in two days!" He giddily started the engine. Still careful as he got out the parking lot and on the road. Not like there were many cars around for danger. But jisung usually had his anxiety turn things good to bad.

"We knew it would get!" Chan voiced out.

"How much is it of believing in me and of propheting from our oracle?" He teased, knowing that they believed in him enough and that they also did see into future.

"Hey!"

"We believe in you, ji!"

"Ok, ok. Yea I know." He drove trying to keep in his excitement to reach home fast.

He settled with just listening to them and not talking. It was almost theuraptic for him. Unconsciously his mind replayed of how well his day had been.

He had woken up, feeling refreshed and not like the usual, sleepy or at times anxious. He had felt refreshed, like all his worries had vanished away. It actually felt amazing. He rarely felt like this. He felt like he could conquer the world. Nothing could stop him.

And then at breakfast, he was drowned with the kisses. He actively felt the love in his soul. His magic easily picking on the love, making him euphoric. His magic won't start on it own like this, which should be worrisome but jisung didn't mind it. Not when it was absorbing the love given and making jisung feel more alive. Thank god his magic didn't ooze out causing trouble, like it would have before.

Minho had sat beside him and just quietly took care of him. Giving him food or silently asking if he needed anything. It made his heart warm whenever Minho tried to get some praises out of him and then smile shyly or proudly when jisung did complimented him. Whether it be vocally praising or giving a satisfied hum as he ate the food.

And then he relaxed around with his lovers, watching movies or playing games. He even won a couple of games and he never did play the games and always sucked at them. So he was also rewarded with some kisses, from Felix. They were really nice.

He didn't even feel the nervousness of submitting his song today. And thus jisung would regard this day as a beautiful miracle. His anxiety often didn't let him rest well.

And when he got in the building, he only had a little anxiety during the meeting. And then his song got accepted!

"-nnie? Hannie?"

He got out of his thoughts and focused on minho's voice.

"Yes hyung?"

"U zoned out on us." Hyunjin giggled.

"Sorry, hyuni. It's tough to drive while talking. Not a multitasker you know."

"Yea we know your suckass. But you have definitely did this a couple of times before so that's a lame excuse." Hyunjin teased.

Jisung could faintly hear Chan shout 'language!'

"Tell us what you were thinking abt." Seungmin asked.

"Nothing. Just how amazing my day has been. And how much I love you guys."

"That's cheesy as fuck!" Hyunjin giggled.

"Yea. Well you love it. You all do."

"That's not wrong too." Chan faded in.

"Anyways what are you guys exactly doing?" He could hear the chuckles and giggles, making him smile.

"You'll have to find for yourself, hyung." Jeongin spoke, his smile quite present in his tone.

"Aww, man. Can't you guys have some mercy on me?" He pouted as he took a left turn.

"Nah. It's more fun as a surprise!" Felix burst in.

Jisung reached an intersection. Red lights. He hummed and looked at the right side road. By the sidewalks of the right side road was a daycare van. The kids getting inside, small, little fairies they were.

His signal turned green and he started to move. But just as he had travelled a small distance, his eyes fell on the arriving truck from the left side.

His heart skipped a beat, his breath hitching. The truck wasn't slowing down and jisung could only assume that there was a break fail, also that he could sense a dark spell on it. But the thing was he could easily dodge the truck but that would mean the daycare bus. The little creatures, that were hopping inside.

"Wha- No, no, no. Not again. Not now." He mumbled with a lump forming in his throat, his chest heavy and sped up breathing.

"Sungie? Ji?" He can barely guess that it was Felix talking.

"If-if I dodge then th-they..." He frantically looked at both sides.

Tears were in his eyes and he was shaking so hard. Their fate was in his hands. He gripped at the steering wheel hard so to stop his trembling hands and have some support.

"Jisung? Baby? Why aren't u saying anything?" Is it Minho? Or Chan?

But Jisung kept on driving and just stopped in the middle of the intersection. Blocking the path of the truck.

His heart hammering against his chest. He tried to suck in a breath, promptly choking on it.

"Jisung!" A frantic voice arose from the call. He really like their voices, always calming him down.

"I'm so sorry." He whispered and just hoped that his whisper was loud enough for them to hear.

"Hannie, where are you?! What's happening?! Why can't I get to you?!!"

He hated to make them worried. He's always made them worry and feel pain.

"Y-you know that I love you all, r-right?" He tried to keep a stable voice and a smile on his face as he looked forward. People had gathered around on the sidewalks, whispering and frantically pointing at his stopped car.

He knew what they might be talking abt. He had just stopped in the middle of the intersection with an incoming truck.

But when he looked to the left, the truck much closer now, his smile melted away and he let out a sob, tears running down so freely.

"Hannie! Jisung baby!! You're scaring us all! What's happening?!"

"I love you all, so so much." He choked out and then closed his eyes, looking down, his hands still gripping the steering wheel so heard, his hands turned white.

"Jisung-"

And then the truck hit.

He could feel the violent blow, his car rolling away. His body being shook so hard and then everything was hurting. The seatbelt was digging in his shoulder and chest. The car now laid on its side. Jisung's side, facing the ground. The truck finally stopped.

And in his fainting condition, he could recall everything, now with what it all meant.

He was meant to have such a perfect day. He was meant to wake up refreshed so he could easily get out of bed. He was meant to get that love, since it would be the last time. He was meant to win those games, because it was going to be the last of his memories. Last of him with them. He was meant to be less anxious so that he arrives at this time in the building. All alone, without any support to make him feel lighter. Without any other life to lose. He was meant to have his songs accepted so that he could get out the building fast and excited to tell his lovers, his family. He was meant to have it all because he had to arrive at time to stop the truck. To save the kids. To lose his all.

In his fastly fading vision, he could make out the people rushing towards him. But all he could focus on was the snow that slowly started to fall. Snowflakes falling inside the crushed window and onto him but he barely feels the tingle of them landing and melting on him.

This was his destiny. Dying in the snow.

He mournfully wished he could see his lovers for the last time as his eyes closed. His heart slowly dying.

But atleast, he recalled for the very last time, they each had a piece of him that he gave them. They'll surely remember him till he comes back. Again.
