Work Text:
Tom Nook, a professional business owner, a father figure to two sweet children and the person that had originally put you in debt that had you working for more than entire year repaying. Sure, the fact that he didn’t charge interest for his work was nice enough, and he always was so quick concerning any buildings you ever needed — “ you don’t need to lift a hammer ” he always would comment with so much fondness in his eyes every time you offered to help him build anything you needed, bridges, inclines, but yet every time you offered, he said no.
It hadn’t been a shock that Tom had been on board with the concept of allowing more than what you already had allowed on the island, but yet you had found a way to allow for those that wished to set up a semi-permant shop nearby due to your friend Harvy and… Tom was less than pleased. Sure, he had been smiling and saying that it was a great chance to expand relationships between the island and others, but even you knew when Tom was lying; over the year you had come to know him, both working for and crushing on the tanuki silently, you had noticed that whenever he begun to lie to you that his tail would become a lot more bushier, or that his fingernails would rasp against either his leg or any nearby surface, and if he was angry… well, he would do both.
You hated to assume the worst about Tom, but with the way that he had reacted, so cool and calm about the entire situation, it couldn’t help but rub your spine the wrong way; there was no way he was jealous about other people having your attention, right? It was purely a business practice, and even then most of the people that had set up shop on Harv’s island were happy either with their own partners or happily single. Or Sahara, but he was his own special case since he didn’t exactly say much on his own personal life.
Running a hand down your face in order to try and free your thoughts from the predicament that you found yourself in, constantly chasing these thoughts in your head of the what ifs and whats of Tom Nook, your fingers covered in dirt as you knelt by the tomatoes you had planted a few days ago in your garden, half a broken stake between your fingers as you stared down at the crops along side Timmy and Tommy.
Sure, you couldn’t help but love the twins as if they were your own flesh and blood, being one of the only other females in miles that could provide motherly affection, but the damage had already been done to your poor tomatoes due to the soccer ball they had kicked into your garden, turning towards them as they held their ball close to them. They really did look apologetic, but even with their sad eyes, you had to hold strong.
“I know that you two have apologised more than ten times now,” you begun, your sunhat protecting your eyes from the summer sun that threatened to burn your eyes out, your sunglasses already having been shoved into the front pocket of your overalls, “but this time I will have to inform Tom of what happened; I know that you two have offered to pay for new seeds, to help me with the garden, but I can’t keep taking the bribes forever.”
“Please! Don’t tell Mr Nook!” The twins cried, their tears beginning to start up again as you flinched, your tough persona beginning to crack slightly as they spoke about not being able to eat desert for a week, having to clean the plaza and more. Abandoning the ball where they stood, they rushed forward to grip at your overalls, crying hysterically as they pleaded and in that moment sometimes you forget that they were only eleven years old. The boys really should be at school, they really should be learning things such as how to understand the meaning behind books instead of having to constantly worry about money and income.
Placing your hands on their heads, their faces, buried in the denim of your clothes, slowly looked up towards you, their big and shiny blue eyes staring up at you with tears that threatened to spill. “Fine,” you caved, “I won’t tell Mr Nook, but I will expect that you guys compensate me for the damage.”
“We will! We promise to compensate you!” Timmy’s voice was loud and without hesitence, his brother nodding along side him, their paws letting go of your pants as you sighed.
“I’ll bring back the receipt from Leif and we’ll sneak the compensation under Tom’s nose, no skin off your nose.” Bringing a hand up to your nose, you gave the tip of it a playful flick as you spoke. Their tears dried quickly, the agreement settled and made as you lead the boys out of your garden, giving them a head start with the ball as you threw it far, watching the boys as they thanked you and ran away to play their game once more.
Turning back to your garden, you counted the tomato starts that had been destroyed by the ball, your finger outstretched in front of you as you used it to guide your eye. You had planted twelve starts, there were five that were completely destroyed, the path of destruction being clear as day as you took a photo on your nook phone to show Leif when you got there.
Shaking your head gently, you headed inside to clean up a bit and put your tools away. Sure, while Harvey, Leif and the rest of them had seen you at the worst for wear, with mud all in your hair and down your shirt when you and Harvey had to help dig out one of the trailers from mud, but there was something about being around them that made you feel like you should be more presentable than that; washing your hands and face from the mud and dirt that always seemed to be on your skin in your bathroom sink.
Yet there was a feeling like no other crawling down your back, shuddering you to your very bones that you looked out your window.
Maybe you were letting Tom’s recent weird behaviour get to you.
~🍀~
The sky was clear and cloudless the moment that you had stepped on the plane after going through the airport, your overalls still dirty from the garden, your gloves peeking out from one of the pockets as you settled yourself in, knowing that the gloves would be useful when you went back to worry later, the plush interior of the seaplane already having become very familiar to you, even knowing where the leather had been replaced due to mishaps involving eiter yourself or villagers that came and go, the patches always seeming lighter than the original leather as you brushed your hand along the seem, feeling the stitchwork underneath your fingertips as you did so.
Yet fate did not want to meet you halfway on your wants and desires, noticing how the plane wasn’t taking off, your gaze drifting out the window as you watched Orville and Wilbur discussing something with someone you couldn’t see, your face pressing against the window slightly as you attempted to make out who it could possibly be.
Sure, they were mostly hiding behind a wall, but their brown paws were enough clue to know that it had to be one of two people, and as the person rounded the corner and towards the plane you couldn’t help but duck away from the window slightly, your heart pounding as you listened to the voices come closer and closer from where the plane door remained open.
“If our residents are spending more and more time travelling to and from this island, I might as well scope it out and see what the major fuss is about, yes, yes.” of all the people you had wanted to see in that moment, hearing Tom’s voice on the outside made you swallow. Sure, you were sure that Tom would never get angry, but with the way he had been reacting towards the other island as of late this almost one-eighty in behaviour was strange.
The plane dipped slightly with the new weight found on it, the aircraft rocking slightly with more motion than what the sea had been providing as you watched the tanuki climb in, followed by Wilbur. You really did try to make yourself small, you did, but yet as the tycoon master’s eyes roamed the cabin, you could feel his dark blue eyes focus on you as you pretended to busy yourself with your phone, hearing the sound of his footfalls come closer, and closer, and closer until he sat across from you within the cabin, resting a small bag between his own feet, yours sitting daintily in your lap.
“Surprised to see you on the plane at this time of day,” Tom chuckled, your eyes flickering up from him and back to your phone, “then again, our island representative has been making good business decisions as of late.” You could feel one of his legs gently brush against yours, the tanuki’s size almost taking all of the two seats as much as his head almost touched the roof in which made you seemed dwarfed in size compared to him, and that you were.
Flashing him a half-hearted smile, you placed your phone flat on the table, the screen hidden from his view as you looked up at him, “It wasn’t really for business; it was just helping out a friend.” Watching as Tom’s eyebrows rose slightly, his long nose giving a slight twitch, your smile soon became fond, laughing as you pushed your phone gently around in front of you, “he really had helped out a lot, and me helping him out with his whole business prospect was just my way of helping him back.”
Harvey had really grown more to be a brother to you at this point, even with the way he had a habit of stealing your food whenever you came over, or the one time he had filled one of his rooms with squeekloids on one of his bright business ideas just days before he had invited Harriet to come and live with him — the sound of their singing still haunted you now, even weeks later after the incident, your fingers gently lifting your phone to look at the picture of you, Harvey and Harriet that you had set as your phone screen. A fond little family in your mind.
“I see, I see…” Tom muttered, flipping open the pages of the notebook that he had pulled out during your thoughts, a pen clicking in his paw as he began to write something down, “so it just happened to involve a business boom, correct?” A simple nod seemed to satisfy him, Tom muttering something softly under his breath, both of your hands bracing your belongings as you felt the plane begin to take off, the gentle buzz of it vibrating under your fingers as the island you called home grew smaller, and smaller the further you flew away.
Tom didn’t say anything for the rest of the flight, even when you landed, the tanuki excusing himself from the plane as you gathered your things, stepping out of the plane with the help of Wilbur as he usually did, though he didn’t let go of your hand once both of your feet were placed firmly on the ground.
“Be careful, rep’.” Wilbur never called you by your name or your title, so hearing that coming from the young dodo you couldn’t help but step back slightly in alarm, the pier groaning slightly under your weight as he let go of your hand.
“Uh… I will.” Starts, you needed the tomato starts, waving to the pilot as you walked off the pier, you could hear the chatter of the plaza residents as you got closer, though out of the corner of your eye you could see Harvey talking to Tom, the canine giving lazy smiles and what seemed to be idle chatter to the tanuki as you passed.
You slowed your pace as you passed by them, attempting to hear anything that was said with the way that Tom was taking down notes, but yet their talking was so hushed and quiet that the wind carried it away before it could reach your ears, even as you paused to give a wave of greeting towards Harvey, the male stopping his conversation to do so back with a smile.
“Good afternoon, cousin!” Redd greeted once he had gotten sight of you, the fox dropping what he was doing, rubbing what seemed to be paint off his paws and onto his apron, the blue stained with yellows and reds as Redd lead you by the small of your back towards his stall, holding out an open paw to the work that was on display today, “beautiful, aren’t they? And your cousin discount will count as per usual.”
“Redd, while I appreciate the offer,” you gave a light chuckle, stepping away from the fox and turning around to look at him, “I only came here for Leif today, I promise next week I’ll have a look at your stock.” Watching as Redd’s ears flattened slightly against his head like every other time you told him no, you couldn’t help but smile and reach up, pressing a hand against a furry cheek and rubbing a thumb against it. Affectionate and caring is what you were to most, and watching as Redd nuzzled slightly into our hand, you could hear him purr.
“You’re too kind to us, cousin.” Redd muttered under his breath, though as you turned to walk over to Leif, you couldn’t help but let out a squeal as a clawed hand came up and slapped your behind, “but that’s a promise! Next week I promise I’ll have something you haven’t seen before.”
“Love to see that, you cheeky shit.” You laughed, gently pushing the fox’s hands away as they came at you once more, laughing as you ran over to the florist nearby, Redd hot on your heels as you ducked and weaved around the man, desperate to avoid his furry hands as Leif held the pot he was holding above his head.
“I’ll show you how cheeky I can be.”
“Be careful of the sproutlings!” Leif cried, the game of human and fox ending soon enough as Redd jabbed rounded fingers into your sides, laughter escaping your mouth as you attempted to push the fox off, though his grip was tight as he brought you in, blowing a raspberry against your neck as you squealed.
“ Redd ! I’ll get you back — I swear!” You cried, finally breaking free from the fox yet again, hiding behind the sloth behind you as you caught your breath. “You’re so mean , you wouldn’t do that with Tom.”
“Tom’s just a stick in the mud, you’re much more fun, cousin.” Redd chuckled, though as he placed a gentle paw on your head, he returned back to his own caravan, your eyes travelling with his form, catching the sight of a fuzzy tail behind one of the caravans. However, that wasn’t what caused for you to stop and state; it was the fact that he seemed to be staring at you, even as you turned your gaze away to look at the sloth.
“Is that… Mr Nook ? I thought he didn’t like this island.” Leif questioned once he had followed your gaze, turning to you as he lowered the sprout he was holding from above his head. Though as you shrugged in response, Leif’s face warped slightly as he looked between you and Tom. Shaking his head, Leif’s smile soon returned, “but anyways, how can I help you on this fine summer’s day?”
Catching Leif up to speed on what had happened, showing him the photo as Tom making his way around the vendors with no sense of order, Leif understood your plight as he mourned the early passing of the starts, even shedding a few tears in dramatics before laughing, talking lowly as he talked about the twins; even Leif couldn’t find it in himself to be mad at them, as he pulled out five tomato starts and bagged them up in exchange for your bells, Leif made small talk about the other plants on your island; had you been watering them daily, had you used the mulch that he had ordered in especially for you as well as many other questions, the conversation continuing as Leif wrote down the total for the tomatoes, stuffing it inside the bag before anyone else had the chance to see.
“Please remember to tell the boys that my offer still stands to send them crops I’ve grown myself.” You nodded in response, smiling at the male as you said goodbye, heading in the direction of the sea plane, passing by Tom as he seemed to almost grill Redd about his business based on the way that their hands were flying about, though their voices remained low for the sake of everyone else around them as you left the plaza area with your tomatoes.
You would’ve told Tom you’d wait for him, but the last thing you wanted is to be stuck in the middle of a conversation about ethics, especially in an area that was surrounded by people you wanted to maintain good friendships with — Tom may not have the best relationship with them given they came by rarely, but that did not give him the reason to be rude.
Huffing softly, you looked over to the pier to see that Wilbur wasn’t there. ‘ He’s probably asleep in the plane ’ you thought to yourself, remembering the few times you had caught Wilbur sleeping in the plane while out on mystery islands, and softening your eyes slightly at the memory of seeing the dodo reclined back, his shades tucked on top of his head and sleeping in the pilot chair, you decided not to disturb him, turning towards Harvey’s home and staring at the front door.
Harvey probably was inside, right?
Walking up to the front door like you had many times before, you left the tomato starts by the front door in the shade before you walked in, the home oddly silent as you flicked the light switch on and off, the light bulb above head flickering for a moment with reserved power before it went dark.
“Harvey?” You called, cupping your hands around your mouth as you called the male’s name, and hearing a voice from what you could presume to be the upstairs, you left your main bag on the rack that you had helped him install the week prior, climbing up the stairs until you saw Harvey in view, though seeing Harvey holding up what seemed to be some sort of chandelier that frightened you, it was the fact that he was not only standing on a chair, but that chair was on a table, Harriet holding the legs of the chair as the two looked over to you.
“ Are you two clinically insane?! ” You screamed, rushing forward to stop the chaos before it got worse. “Where’s your ladder?”
“In the basement, we were too lazy to get it out.”
These two were stupid, and luckily for these two stupid canines, you just happened to have a license to install things on ceilings and connect electricity yourself. Forcing Harvey to hand over the chandelier and climb down and off the chair and table, you placed the chandelier on the floor before grabbing the chair, nearly tossing the item across the room as you told them to wait, you were getting that ladder yourself.
Now, you were thankful that they had enough brain cells between the two of them to turn off the power to the house before they had started, but it didn’t take too long before you had the ladder all set up, having gone through their crowded basement in order to find it, a toolbelt fashioned around your waist as you connected the chandelier to the roof, mumbling softly under your breath about how the wiring in their roof probably could be using a touch up all the way.
“Harvey, who did your wiring when you got the house?”
“It was all set up when I got here, so I don’t know.”
“Well, you know what that means?” You questioned once you were sure the chandelier was installed correctly, sliding down the ladder with a gentle thump on the attic floor, “looks like I’ll be coming by next week to check your wiring; it looks like it needs a check up.”
Your feet landed gently against the floor, jumping from the second rung once you had climbed down far enough, running a hand through your hair as your overalls were in disarray, and one of your bra straps had slid down your shoulders more than once during the entire struggle with holding the chandelier and you had become far too annoyed to continue pushing it upwards and back under the covering of your tshirt, letting it slide down your arm as you handed Harvey back his tools, the dog taking it in his paws as you started to be on your way, the stairs creeking under your weight as you went, the two dogs behind you chatting and laughing the way out the front, the afternoon breeze hitting you almost like a truck as soon as the door was opened, collecting your bags from inside and outside, noticing the tanuki sitting at the table nearby, seemingly staring into nothing before the door had opened, shifting his body to look at you.
“I’m sorry Tom, were you and Wilbur waiting for me?”
“Couldn’t leave you behind, could we?” Tom didn’t speak for the rest of the trip home.
~🍀~
Tom didn’t speak for you personally for two weeks. He had to attend to business outside of the island concerning other assests he owned.
Within that week, Harvey also went missing and only found out when you travelled to his home the next week, surprised to see Harriet being the only one home; she had thought he was spending time with you like he did every fortnight but as soon as the two of you had put together the pieces, you two could only assume the worst.
Isabelle had handled all the needed arrangements for building projects as well as printing and hanging up missing posters on both islands and the mainland that wasn’t too far off. The twins had spent that week with you under the orders of Tom himself, Tom having left the key to his flat above the resident services in your mailbox for you to use so then you didn’t have to worry about the boys not being comfortable as well as a note saying that you could use whatever was in their home to make breakfasts, lunches and dinners, and that you were allowed to use his bed if you so wished.
The smell of him didn’t help in the lonliness that seemed to follow. You weren’t his lover, but the fact he was comfortable with you in his home, using his things, even sleeping in his bed, it left a warm feeling in your stomach every time that you thought about it, your heart fluttering and overwhelmed with such happiness.
Sure, you were still scared shitless about where Harvey was, but even in that moment, you could appreciate those sort of sappy feelings that brewed in yout gut, that bubbled and fizzed and exploded with every bit of happiness.
Timmy and Tommy certainly kept you busy as well, as when they weren’t running the shop that Tom had passed down to them they had decided to use that time to be with you. Sure, they still felt guilty about ruining your garden, but when their eyes had sparkled and shined and glittered with wonder when you had offered them the chance of making their own little garden next to yours, you knew that you had lifted their spirits as well as their paws. Given that they were so used to handling fragile objects that no eleven year old should be handling, they took to gardening quite easily as they learnt how to prepare the soil, plant and take care of little flowers that you had found seeds for lying about, Tommy taking intently to the windflowers whilst his brother taking interest in the hydrangea, even asking if they could grow more flowers in the future if their flowers turned out well and how exactly could you even say no?
Long days running the shop and spending time with you proved to be helpful in the long run, as the twins were easier to get to sleep when they were properly tuckered out.
Breathing through your nose as you carried Timmy to his room after he had begun nodding off on the couch, Tommy already tucked in due to him having gone to bed earlier, you could feel his little paws grip at your nightgown loosely, his head gently sitting on your shoulder as if he was a newborn, blue eyes barely able to keep open even as you gently rocked his body back and forth, hearing a tiny yawn in your ear as the door to their room opened, Tommy asleep with a book half open on his lap, though it slid to the floor as you walked over to his twin’s bed, Timmy’s covers already pulled back as you laid the child down.
Even when looking the same, the twins had surprisingly opened up about their own interest over the time you spent at their home with Tommy showing you all his bugs he collected for fun and Timmy with his interest in superheroes that saved the day, the way they were happy to split up to spend time with their own interests when it was time to wind down.
Pulling the covers over Timmy, you gently grabbed the superbunny plush that sat on one of his shelves and passed it to him, watching as his paws went from clining onto your nightgown to the plush as he nuzzled into the pillow. “Remember, I’m helping you out in the shop tomorrow.” you whispered, brushing the fur on the top of Timmy’s head as he looked up at you through half lidded eyes, the boy letting out half a mumble in response, though it wasn’t watching him fall asleep that had melted your heart in that moment. No, children falling asleep was already such a cute thing to witness, but it was what he muttered that made your eyes water in fondness.
“Good night, mummy.”
He had called you mummy. He thought of you as his mother. Containing the squeal that threatened to escape from the back of your throat, tickling it as it threatened to leave pass your lips, you sneaked away and outside of the room, shutting the door behind you as you went but not before catching one last glimpse at their sleeping faces before doing so.
The warmth in your chest spread and multiplied, closed fists coming to rest over your mouth as you silently squealed, the grin that spread across your face being one that none could compare as you finally let it all sink in. If Timmy called you ‘mummy’, then most likely Tommy thought the same given how they tended to think on the same wavelength, and if that warmth couldn’t of spread further, it did.
Rushing silently to your phone that sat on the coffee table, you stepped over legos and toys as you saw it come into sight, snatching it from the cool glass and unlocking it quickly, paying no mind to the blaring time of eleven at night that greeted you as you scrolled through your phone, tapping on the message icon as soon as you saw it, your eyes softening as you looked at where you last left of.
Since you and Harriet had noticed that Harvy was missing, you had been sending daily messages to the canine in hopes that he may respond, your hands shaking softly as you slowly scrolled through the messages. Sure, the mainland had been helpful in sending out search parties to search the waters, and everyone had searched everywhere on the islands, your eyes watered slightly as you began to type your message.
You told him about how much you and Harriet missed him, you wrote about how everyone had been looking for him for the past week and a half, and even though your heart had hurt to know, you told him that people had begun to lose hope that he was ok. You told him about how you had been keeping the twins busy so then they didn’t question why there was posters with his face around, you told him about the time you had spent with them.
‘ And Timmy called me “mummy”, can you believe that? He thinks of me so fondly that to him I’m a mother. ’ Letting out a sigh, you didn’t notice the small tears that rolled down your cheeks and onto the phone screen, ‘ we miss you, Harv, just please tell us you’re ok. ’
You sent the message.
Glancing at the time, you hadn’t even noticed that time had slipped by while sending the message, the message long enough that you had to scroll in order to read most of it — given Harvey’s terrible thumbs with technology, he most likely had to scroll for much longer on his old phone and the thought of that made you softly laugh; if he was ok, he most likely would chew you out as soon as he got a hold of you, telling you that you shouldn’t send him those long messages since they caused for his phone to freeze up, or something along those lines.
You were beginning to lose hope that he was alive.
Pressing the phone to your chest, you reached for the remote and turned off the television, the credits of the hero movie that Timmy had begged to stay up for being cut short as the screen switched off, leaving you in near silence in the minimalistic home, your reflection in the window seemingly staring back at you sadly before you turned away, leaving the remote on the cushion as you made your way to the room Tom had told you in his note that you could use, turning off all the lights in your wake as you did so and being guided by your phone light.
His room was simply massive compared to you, with dressers and wardrobes fitting of a eight-foot tall and large tanuki as standing by one of the bedside tables made you feel oddly tiny in comparison. It smelt like pine and wood, it smelt like determination and that cologne that he always seemed to wear whenever the two of you were together, but most of all it smelt like and breathed like him.
His room overall was rich , and yet your tiny suitcase of clothes you carted to and from your home felt plain compared to the gradure, the sheets made of silk as you slid yourself in after plugging your phone in and making sure that the alarm was set to wake up before the twins, feeling where he had created impressions in the mattress as you felt yourself curling up into them and pretending as if it was the tanuki holding you very still, your tears still going as you found your eyes shut.
Yet your eyes did not stay shut for long, as the sound of a door down below opening and shutting kept you awake enough to listen, your eyes half lidded as you listened carefully — you had learnt that Isabelle had a terrible habit of working late into the night early on, having ran into her multiple times during the nights in your pajamas given that the toilet was situated in her ‘apartment’, her dressed in her day clothes and holding a coffee as she would nervously giggle and tell you that she just couldn’t sleep. You had offered to help ease her load, to help her cover the work that Tom had left for her in his absence, but she always had declined and said that it was ok, that she could deal with it just fine.
But as you could hear the footsteps rise up the staircase, with each foot fall your sleepiness faded, finding yourself lying there with your eyes trained on the door, hearing as it opened and shut behind the faceless figure, and yet as you stared, your heart pounded, hearing the steps coming up the hallway.
Then the light flickered on in the hallway. Shutting your eyes from the sudden light change and willing yourself to not cover them, you feigned sleep, laying there with your eyes closed as you listened to the ruffle of clothing, to the sound of a bag being put down, a deep grunt as the bed near your feet dipped under the weight of the mysterious presence, and opening your eyes you saw a familiar silhouette of Tom Nook himself, the male running a hand over his face and snout, most likely having flown all the way back from what he had been focusing on for the past couple of days.
His suit was in a ruffle, creased and crinkled in places where they shouldn’t be, his fur was as in a mess as the suit, sticking up in places where it shouldn’t be, ears pinned flat against his head — this was an odd contrast to the Tom Nook you knew whom was always well put together and groomed.
Seeing him turn towards you, you closed your eyes again, hoping that he had not seen your eyes staring at him, pretending that you had been asleep the entire time, hoping to the lords above that he wouldn’t notice your flushed face or the fact your eyes were racing underneath your eyelids as you tried to steady your beating heart. You had to still yourself from jumping when you felt a paw grasp at your leg through the sheets, a thumb rubbing across your upper thigh so easily.
“No one makes me feel this way…” His voice was laced with the same honey and wine like feeling that you were used to, your hand under the pillow gripping onto it tightly as his hand continued to roam your leg, “I can’t lose that… never, ever . You’re too precious to me.” Was he talking to you or at you? You frankly couldn’t even tell, feeling the presence on the bed disappear, the sound of fumbling fabric soon following and deciding to crack an eye open to see what was happening, you almost lost all your will power to be still in that moment.
Holy shit, he was hung . Even from your position on the bed, you were thankful that the dresser he was at made him have his back towards you, but even with the view, you could see the outline of his nakedness in the dark, the light from the hallway reflecting off him just right that it left nothing to the imagination. Tanuki had always been well endowed, but seeing it like you were now was better than than listening to it in class like you had so many years ago. In fact, you were practically sobbing on the inside when he pulled on a fresh pair of briefs and pyjamas, wanting to ogle the view for longer, but yet as he turned back around, you closed your eyes again.
You heard him first go to his bag, the zipper making a noise as it unzipped, then the hallway, the glow disappearing as it shrouded the two of you in darkness and the door shut, then the bed.
Feeling the bed dip behind you, your temptations finally gave in, rolling over to look at the man behind you, his back faced away and covered by bright blue pyjamas that almost reflected the glow onto the ceiling as he messed with something on his phone, watching him, waiting, as he soon plugged his charger in, hearing his nookphone make the tell-tall noise that it had connected before it was placed on the night stand, providing enough light for Tom to climb into bed without fumbling.
It was enough light for Tom to see your eyes staring at him.
“ Fuck -!” A hushed and rare curse left the Tanuki’s mouth, watching as he fumbled a bit to turn on the beside lamp and illuminate the room, your eyes taking a bit to adjust against the bright light as the tanuki seemed to be frozen in shock, his large body staring down at you as you looked up at him, almost seeming to take in the fact that you were awake. “How much did you hear?”
“That apparently I’m precious and you can’t bare to lose me.” leaning on your elbow that was cushioned by the pillow, you stared up at the tanuki for a moment before forcing yourself onto your knees to face him, watching as his eyes shifted from shock to horror as he listened to the words that rolled off your tongue. Looking at the time on the clock that was across from him, it was thirty minutes until one in the morning, meaning that you had only been able to sleep thirty minutes.
“I’m sorry–” Tom started, beginning to climb out of the bed, “I’ll go and sleep in the lounge and–.”
No, you weren’t having that. Grabbing onto his sleeve, you used your own weight to force him back onto the bed, the movement unexpected as Tom found himself with his butt back on the matress, using his stunned silence to climb onto the leg that was on the bed, the other being half off the side, and planting yourself firmly on it, looking up at him as if he was a child in trouble.
“You can’t just say that and not expect me to want to ask you what you meant!” You whisper yelled, fully aware that the boys weren’t too far away, separated by only a few walls as you firmly placed a hand on his chest, the fur that stuck out from his night shirt soft against your hand as you spoke, “Tom, what’s going on with you and why are you acting like this?” Pushing your body weight further on him, you could feel him resist slightly, though his eyes remained focus on you, paws resting on your hips and thighs as he seemed to drink you all in.
“Tom Nook, if I don’t get my answer I swear–.”
You didn’t expect him to kiss you, you didn’t expect to feel his paws dig into your waist, his claws being felt through the flimsy nightgown as he pulled you close, you didn’t expect to feel your covered cunt be dragged across his thigh due to how you had decided to ‘restrain’ him and giving you friction that almost made your eyes roll back at the suddenness, gasping into his mouth as your fingers, formally flat against his chest practically curled into his shirt and fur.
As much as you were stunned, as much as you wanted to push away from him and yell at him, the feeling of his paws roaming your body through your shirt, the way he kissed you as if he were a man dying of thirst, those and the heat that was sent to your core due to his previous words and it made you melt.
“Seeing you like this…” Tom muttered as soon as the two of you pulled apart, “in my bed, wearing something so thin , it drives me wild.” His mouth began to wander the exposed skin of your neck, your mind battling your desire as you watched him, breath heavy and quick as he gently bit on your pressure point. “Now, tell me the truth,” his teeth were so close your ear now, “did you fuck Harvey, resident representative?”
Oh god, not only did you have a horny tanuki on your hands, but a jealous one? Rushing through thoughts as quick as a car through traffic, you pushed Tom away, watching as he leant against the backboard and looked down at you, hungry, like a predator wanting to pounce on their prey.
“I have no clue where you got that idea from, but Harvey’s nothing like that.” Watching as he leaned closer, his grip tightened more on your waist, flinching slightly in his hold as you swore you felt blood circulation cutting off slightly to your legs; he looked like he wanted to eat you alive. “I haven’t even been with anyone , Nook, not even Harv and–.” Your breath hitched as you felt something twitch against your leg, your mind almost short circuiting as you realised that you had just felt the cock that you had been drooling at minutes ago against your thigh, and not only that, it had twitched at the fact you were a virgin.
Suddenly your nightgown felt rather too warm to wear.
“You… like that?” Your voice wavered, his thigh pushing up against you and causing you to gasp, already feeling your panties beginning to soak through.
“ I like that a lot ,” he muttered into your ear, lifting your hips up and then back down again on his thigh, “If I had known you were going to be this willing, I would’ve worn nothing to bed.” Yep, your panties were definitely going to be soaking now. The way he growled, the way he gripped onto you.
“ Shit ,” you couldn’t help but gasp under your breath, Tom watching your every move as you moved your hands to his wrists, trying to move your hips to get more friction, letting out a cry of frustration as Tom pulled you away from his thigh, your legs shaking as you were forced away from his leg.
“As much as I want to completely rip this off of you,” Tom’s paws pinched at the fabric of your nightgown before resting on your exposed thighs, “I should probably allow you to take it off yourself… if you want to continue.”
You couldn’t take off your nightgown fast enough, the flimsy fabric being thrown somewhere half hazardly onto the floor, the summer’s breeze coming through the window being oddly warm against your skin, a deep groan escaping from Tom’s throat as a paw slowly ran over your middle, a claw just barely scratching the underside of one of your breasts.
“Tom, kiss me.” You didn’t need to ask twice, feeling your body be pulled forward once more, his kisses more soarching and breath taking than they were before, your hands grasping at his buttons of his shirt, shaking hands as you forced them open one by one, though as his kisses trailed down your neck, you didn’t think that waiting was something he wanted to do.
Forcing yourself away from his hold, his pupils were blown, his paws roaming your flesh in a gentle caress, his kisses still scorched on your lips in aftermath and leaving you almost drunk as you tugged on the hem of his pants. Tom seeming to get the message as he hooked his thumbs underneath the waistband, helping you slide off his pants that he had put on only minutes earlier, your heart almost bursting with how hard it was pounding when you saw his cock bob in the air.
Shit, it was huge — practically half as long as your forearm and just as thick, the head flared and a dark red colour that faded into the same brown as the rest of his fur and was that a knot ? You’ve never seen something as large as this, even with the dildos you had stashed at home for nights when you were lonely and wanting, and yet it made your cunt clench and throb in anticipation as you could already feel the stretch and it wasn’t even inside you yet.
Shit, you were going to need a lot of lube.
Tom was ahead of you, reaching over to one of the bedside tables as he opened the drawer, pulling out a half empty bottle of clear fluid as he passed it to you, the lube being cold in the palm of your hand as you uncapped it and squirted a generous amount before rubbing it in your hands, one hand reaching and wrapping around Tom’s weeping dick, the bead of precum that had budded at the tip watching you lube up your hands breaking and rolling down the skin like a sinful show, your other hand joining the next as you began to stroke him.
“S-shit.” That was the first time you had heard Tom stutter, yet as your hands kept stroking him up and down, gauging his face as you watched his reaction, his eyes focused on your hands as they just barely circled around him, one of his paws covering his mouth as his chest heaved. “Compared to the dreams I’ve had about this,” he muttered, just barely removing his hand to speak, “I think I prefer the reality.”
“Glad I’m better than your hand.” Even in the heat of the moment you couldn’t help but find yourself laughing silently, your shoulders shaking slightly with the movements of your chest, though as a paw laid on top of your hands.
You found your hands forcibly pulled away and forced on your back on the bed, the matress where Tom had been sitting before warm as Tom loomed over you, pulling your underwear down your legs and bringing a shudder up your back as you felt the air hit your folds, hearing your underwear fall on the floor somewhere before the cap of the lube was heard once more.
His touch was like hot lightning up your spine when his paw made contact with your neglected cunt, your hands coming up to cover your mouth as he rubbed teasing circles around the outside, knowing that if the twins woke up you didn’t want them to hear you. He kept on just missing the bundle of nerves, reaching down and bringing his finger to ghost over your clit as you looked at him. “Here, rub here.”
“Oh, here?” Feeling as he applied pressure to your nerves, you couldn’t help but let your legs shake, feeling yourself clenching around nothing as he rubbed circles into your clit with the guiding motion of your own hand, “you like that…” groaning into your free hand, Tom began to alternate between pressure, his fur providing a friction that was far different to your own hand, the damp fur against the skin of his paw pads causing for your back to slightly arch.
As he slid one finger in, you gripped a hand around his wrist, your hips girating up towards his hand as he experimentally pumped a finger in and out. “This is the first time I’ve touched someone in a long time…” came low from his mouth, yet as he curled his finger inside of you, as if beckoning you, you couldn’t help but let a loud gasp escape past your lips.
“Well, for someone that hasn’t done this in a long time you’re good.” Tom let out a chuckle as you spoke, nuzzling a kiss against your forehead as he pushed a second finger inside, spreading his fingers wide.
“Going to have to stretch you wide, yes, yes, otherwise I’m going to hurt you.”
“Takes an idiot not to gu— oh !” Two claws inside you and a pad on your clit, your head lolled backwards on the pillow, biting down on the flesh of your lip to contain a moan. Even without looking at him you could tell that he was giving you one of his business smirks, the type that he gave you every time you had to expand your storage or build a bridge, but in this situation, with sweat rolling down your body from the heat of the summer air and the passion ignited deep within your gut — or was that just your orgasm creeping up on you? You frankly couldn’t tell, but yet as you kept a grip on Tom’s wrist like a lineline, hips girating up like a life line, that coil grew, and grew.
Such simple and sinful touches had you moaning into your arm like a sinner at church and yet you relished in it, those nights spent alone and wanting catching up on you as you removed your arm from your mouth, fisting the pillow underneath you as you let out small whimpers and whines.
You came hard and fast on his fingers, hearing a surprised noise from Tom as you did so, the blinding white behind your eyes being the only thing you saw as you tried desperately to be quiet. Chest rising up and down, you felt paws on your face as you came back down from your high, Tom’s blue eyes shining in the yellow light from the lamp as he stroked back your hair.
“Well, shit .” Your legs were still shaking, the ringing in your ears doing nothing to help as Tom brought you back down to earth, but even in such a state you noted how empty you now felt, you noted about how Tom’s chest rose and fell.
“Tom, if you don’t fuck me in the next five seconds , I will pin you down and use you myself.”
Tom didn’t need to be told twice knowing you were ok, ministrations now gentle as he helped you wrap your legs around his hips, feeling a pillow being shoved under your hips and a gentle caress as your hips found themselves angling upwards, feeling the heat of his cock just barely graze your opening, your pussy fluttering with the near feeling.
“Are you sure?” Tom questioned from his spot, “I don’t think I’ll be able to stop if we continue.”
“Tom, I will fuck myself on you if you don’t.”
Leaning down to press a kiss to your lips, you felt the tanuki enter you, one paw firmly grasping the pillow beside your head as the other guided his cock in, soon sliding up your body to grasp at your hip once he knew he was in, the stretch being like nothing else you had felt.
“Better be quiet, the boys are asleep.”
That fucking shit. Opening your mouth to say something back, your words died within your throat at the first thrust, your arms flying up to secure themselves around Tom’s neck, gasping as you felt him slowly pull back and snap his hips back, the pattern repeating with each draw of his hips.
Slow and gentle at first, but feeling a particular thrust of his hips that caused for you to let out a particular whine, Tom began to pick up his pace, his claws on your hip digging in slightly and causing for small droplets of blood to mix in with your sweat as it trickled down your hip, no doubt staining the silk sheets underneath as he used you as if you were nothing more than a fleshlight.
Manhandled like a doll, already overstimulated from how he touched you before, it wasn’t much too longer after that you found your thighs quivering again, your heels digging into what fur you could as an orgasm chased you, and as you bucked your hips to try and chase it, a hand reaching down to rub at your swollen clit as the knot just barely kissed your cunt with each force of his hips, it wasn’t too much longer that you found your second orgasm overtaking your brain — if the first one had you seeing stars and non responsive the first time, this one had you on the brink of passing out as you buried your face into Tom’s neck, a cry of his name being the only thing you could hear besides the sound of blood rushing through your ears.
You must’ve bucked your hips at the wrong time as you suddenly felt fuller than before once you came down from your high, the stars fading from your view enough as you pulled away to see Tom’s eyes screwed together tightly, your name coming from his lips in a chant as you felt yourself be filled to the brim.
“ Holy shit , you actually took it…” you could just barely hear, your legs beginning to lose their feeling before Tom rolling the two of you over, your front pressed against his, your head laying on his chest as his paws rubbed soothing circles into your back. “So fucking tiny and yet you took me so well, yes, yes.”
Shifting slightly as you felt his cock twitch within you, his cum escaping from around the seal that his knot had created, you struggled to look up at him as your entire body basically felt like gelatin and you already knew you’d be hurting in the morning, “Tom… you owe me breakfast in the morning.”
“Already sorted, I owe you for looking after the twins,” Tom’s breath began to even out again, his touches gentle and soothing as he placed a kiss to the top of your head, “they didn’t cause you any problems, did they?” He muttered, his voice becoming tender despite literally still having his dick still inside you, but shaking your head, he sighed. “Good.”
“I did ask for them to take longer breaks from the shop during the day, that way they weren’t cooped up inside all day.”
“Fair, you were their guardian for the week and they know how business works.” At least he understood.
“They also called me mum.”
“... seems like they were already ahead of me.”
As your eyes shut, the conversation continuing the flow it had before as you filled him in on all the things the twins did despite the exhaustion taking over you, Tom’s eyes shifted towards the door.
Maybe he didn’t have to get rid of Harvey afterall.
