Sin of Wrath

Summary:

After joining together to save the missing seven people, the Survivors of Sin decide to investigate why they seem to be acting so strange.

Work Text:

It’d been a few days since the formation of the Survivors of Sin, yet no progress had been made to figuring out what was causing Nenes strange behaviour. Mizuki was with Kanade, and the others were all on call with them.

“The only lead we have is that strange key Miku told Rui about, but how could a key cause someones entire personality to change?” Akito asked, but none of the group had any answers. The five all sat in silence as they continued their search, when Honami found something.

She didn’t tell the others initially, since it was just a book. The Evillious Chronicles it was called, depicting seven relics on its cover. A sword, a wine glass, a mirror, a doll, a pair of scissors, a spoon… And a key. “I’m gonna share my screen, Rui, can you get Miku?” Honami asked, and Rui got Miku out on his phone. “Miku, do you recognise this key?” Honami asked, as Miku had a shocked expression on her face. “That’s the key Nene had!” She shouted. “Honami, send me the link to that book. I can pirate it in no time.” Rui said, as Honami sent the link to him.

Only a few hours later, the five got all the information they needed. These relics were the Vessels of Sin, each containing a demon of the seven deadly sins. The sword was lust, the wine glass was gluttony, the mirror was pride, the doll was sloth, the scissors were envy, the spoon was greed and the key was wrath. Seven sins, seven disappearances. Although Miku confirmed the sword wasn’t seen in any Sekai, the others were still seen.

“Me, Mizuki and Rui will go after Nene. Akito, Honami, can you two go after sloth?” Kanade asked. “Hang on Kanade, you’re rushing. We don’t even know if they can be unpossessed without killing them.” Akito replied, not wanting unnecessary harm to come to the others. Kanade apologised, but that raised a new question. How can they stop the sins from possessing them without killing the others?

The group tried to think of any possible way to stop the possession, but came out short. “Let’s try destroying the vessels. Me and Akito can try it on the vessel of sloth, we’ll call you if it works.” Honami said, and Akito agreed with her. Kanade told the other three to meet at her house so they can start their search.

They arrived late that afternoon, but before they could begin the search for Nene and the one possessed by the demon of sloth, Mizuki made them all wear the outfits they specially made for their search, based on Mizukis favourite fantasy movie. The outfits were those the knights of Sunrise and Sunset wore, with the colours changed to fit the group. Luckily they all fit, and Rui handed out the model swords he made thanks to Mizuki begging him to make them. Akito and Honami left to look for the person possessed by the demon of sloth while Kanade, Rui and Mizuki started the search for Nene. Rui was able to locate Nenes phone at the Phoenix Wonderland, and the three set off to save her.

Shortly upon their arrival, the park was called for an emergency evacuation. An attacker was in the main stage, attacking the members of the troupe that was performing. The three managed to sneak into the stage, hiding behind some benches.

Nene stood over Sakurako, the star of the troupe that was supposed to be performing. Now, she laid unconscious, beaten up by Nene. “I’ll block her way, you two take the key.” Kanade whispered to the others, unsheathing her sword. She blocked Nenes way as she was about to leave through the door, and Mizuki and Rui surrounded her. “Rui… I’ve been looking for you.” Nene said with a smirk, turning around and punching Rui right in the face, causing him to tear up. “You humiliated me, performing with a robot? That’s just stupid.” She said, but her second punch was blocked by Mizuki.

Kanade saw the key that hung off her belt, and was about to grab it, but was interrupted by a punch. Her nose started to bleed, but she didn’t give up. Nene turned back to Rui, grabbing his wrists and slamming him onto the ground. “Mizuki, get her away from Rui!” Kanade shouted, as Mizuki dragged Nene away from Rui.

Mizuki managed to grab the vessel of wrath, the key, on Nenes belt. They used their sword to destroy the key, as there was no time to wait for Akito and Honamis call. Nene fell unconscious upon the keys destruction, as a voice called from the stage.

“Bravo, what an excellent performance!” Mizuki and Kanade looked at the stage, seeing two people on stage. The two looked alike, the same blond hair that faded to pink. “That’s Tsukasa and his little sister, what’re they doing here?” Rui said, barely being able to stand. Kanade went over to help him, looking at the two. “You know, that was such a good performance I think I shall spare you just this once.” Tsukasas sister said, with Tsukasa silently standing on the side.

The two walked towards the other four, but something was clearly different about Tsukasa. Rui felt himself shudder when he came close, but why he didn’t know. “Tsukasa, are you-“ Rui was interrupted by Tsukasas sister. “How dare you speak to my servant without permission!” She yelled, when Mizuki noticed the mirror she held. The same mirror from that book, the vessel of pride.

The two left after that, as the security finally entered the area. Kanade explained the situation as best as she could, not mentioning the possession. The security understood and took Nene and Sakurako away to hospital, leaving the three alone. “I’m going after Saki and Tsukasa, you two go meet up with Akito and Honami.” Rui said, standing up properly.

“We’ll come after you once we confirm that Honami and Akito are alright.” Mizuki said, as the two left the stage. Rui saw all the missed calls from Akito, texting him to update him on the situation. He knew he had another sin to deal with, one he’d have to deal with alone. This was for his troupe leader after all, he wouldn’t let him down.
