……………………………………………
It’s been a long few months for the band. Concerts, fan-meet ups, parties, after-parties, rehearsals, and more. It was rare that the band members got some personal time to even relax and to be honest, it was exhausting. They’ve been going mainstream and it was getting even harder, but they still managed with their manager, Faruzan.
Now, Scaramouche, or his real name, Kunikuzushi, finally had free time. Since the group all moved in with each other before even debuting, they decided to still live with each other. It wasn’t like the house was huge, it was just everybody here shared a room with their partner. Heizou and Kazuha, Xiao and Venti, and Kunikuzushi and Aether.
Aether.
Kunikuzushi missed Aether dearly. They’ve barely had time to interact or talk since mostly they’ve been on time schedules and sleeping at hotels. The band members weren’t really together most of the time even too. A lot of them had their own business to attend to so they all were busy and only met during the important schedules. The only time Kunikuzushi got to talk to Aether was when they texted or called but even then it couldn’t beat Aether’s voice, Aether, Aether’s touch, and even the way Aether behaved. He was so glad to be home though, to relish in his and Aether’s shared room.
He put down his backpack and luggage, finally relieved to be home and not at some hotel or in the public eye. From the looks of it, nobody else was home and in this sense, Kunikuzushi was glad nobody could bug him.
Usually, when everybody was home it would be loud. Kunikuzushi really didn’t want that whatsoever. Venti and Heizou were the loudest of the bunch. Venti usually making every night eventful to say the least. Heizou just indulged Venti on his shenanigans and Kazuha liked to pass his joint around which caused even more ruckus.
All the lights seemed to be off in the house as Kunikuzushi made his way to his bedroom. He opened the door and witnessed Aether sleeping in bed. One of their lamp lights were still on meaning Aether wasn’t sleeping for long or he just went to bed. Kunikuzushi didn’t actually expect to see Aether home. It was a relief to at least share the same bed again.
He went over to the lamp in the room, turning it off, and going to lay down with Aether. Aether was wrapped in the blanket completely in which hiding his whole body.
Kunikuzushi grabbed the blanket but was pulled away by Aether. So he wasn’t asleep and he didn’t even greet Kunikuzushi once somebody came home. It was unusual to say the least.
Aether got out of the covers as he wiped his face and sniffed. He wouldn’t face Kunikuzushi. It didn’t feel how Aether normally acted whatsoever. It made Kunikuzushi worry.
“Ae? I didn’t expect you to be home.” The dark-haired male whispered to Aether, keeping his voice low.
“Is it true?” Aether’s words wobbled. His fist grabbing the sheets, still facing away from Kunikuzushi. He grabbed his phone and looked at Kunikuzushi, “The dating rumours?”
Kunikuzushi’s face fell. Aether’s face drenched in tears, a stuffy nose, and redden eyes from what he could see in the dark. Who knows how long Aether was crying and thinking these things. And no wonder Aether ignored Kunikuzushi when he walked in. Aether had thoughts Kunikuzushi was cheating on him. It was such a sorrowful sight to see.
The male looked at the phone for a split second before his attention couldn’t help but be focused by Aether’s quiet sobs. He grabbed the phone out of Aether’s hand, throwing it to somewhere else, and leaned into Aether, giving his partner a well needed hug. Aether hugged back instantly, burying his face into Kunikuzushi’s shoulder, and using it as a tissue for his nose.
“Stop listening to those dumbass articles and newsfeeds. All they do is create rumours for clout.” Kunikuzushi said rubbing circles on Aether’s back with his thumb. He mumbled under his breath where Aether could hear, “Who even came up with that? Me with Calx? That’s ridiculous.”
Aether sobbed in the hug as he wrapped his whole body around Kunikuzushi. “We just haven’t talked much and I was- I was just-“
“Afraid you’re going to lose me?” Kunikuzushi finished the sentence for Aether, also pulling Aether closer as much as he could.
Aether nodded and tried wiping his tears away but they still overflowed him. Kunikuzushi leaned into Aether’s head and kissed his lover’s whole face. He would rather die than give up Aether. They’ve known each other for the longest of time compared to the other members but only recently got together 2 years ago after they debuted together. It didn’t matter in Kunikuzushi’s mind because Aether’s was always his to begin with from the very first moment they knew each other when they were kids. Aether was the one he was going to marry and nobody else.
After Aether’s sister left, Aether has always had the issue of fear that Kunikuzushi would leave him. When Lumine left in their teenage years, Kunikuzushi was the only one Aether had. Ever since then there was always the issue. Kunikuzushi wasn’t any better but he learned that later that Aether was the one who wouldn’t leave him. Thus, he also was completely drained being without Aether.
Kunikuzushi inhaled deeply as he finally settled into Aether’s arms. The one he so longed for after all this time apart.
“I missed you so much…” he flustered.
Their time apart from each other really never helped. In some couples, it would be benefiting to relationships to sometimes have privacy away from each other but to Kunikuzushi and Aether this never worked. One of them always worried over and over again and they simply liked being around each other at a constant even when they were fighting and being stubborn. Their relationship was always difficult due to how hardheaded each of them were but it was soon figured out that they couldn’t live without each other. Every fight always ended so sensual.
“You’re so cold.” Aether mumbled, his tears coming to a stop after he finally stopped indulging himself in his thoughts and other rumours.
Kunikuzushi let out a small laugh and kissed Aether’s forehead and under Aether’s jaw. Aether held onto the male as he was pushed back onto the wall, loving how Kunikuzushi kissed him so well. It was comforting.
Aether wiped his tears, “I really missed you too, Kuni.” His words softened. Comforted by Kunikuzushi being there, always the only one to be there.
Kunikuzushi never really said anything sweet but his actions were more than enough for Aether. To the tender kisses, to small bites, to making food for the two, or even packing Aether food before he left when they were together, putting the blanket on Aether when he was asleep, their love making, or even protecting Aether’s name no matter what situation. It was enough and sweet. Even if Kunikuzushi liked calling Aether an idiot, insulting his cooking, insulting him in general, moments like this brought comfort to Aether. He was the one Kunikuzushi needed.
They both enjoyed the silence of the house together. Only them together and the sounds of Aether’s sniffles and Kunikuzushi’s littered kisses. Aether felt relaxed but worry was still stuck inside of him.
“Tell me you need me.” Aether said.
“I need you.” Kunikuzushi repeated after him.
“Tell me you won’t leave.”
“I won’t leave.”
Aether grabbed Kunikuzushi’s face and leaned into the other’s. “Please, Tell me you love me.”
“I love you.” Kunikuzushi hummed and kissed Aether.
It was soft and sweet, a kiss needed, and wanted in the moment. The kiss sharing and burying each of their worries away as it comforted each other. They needed to share themselves with each other, as if they would die being apart for so long, that them being closer made it so they would live longer. They longed for each other.
It was cut off from Aether’s sweet smile and laugh as they sunk into their bed together. Comfortable at last. Kunikuzushi was more relaxed as Aether was finally back to being the usual. Aether grabbed a hold of Kunikuzushi’s hand and held onto it tightly, letting it rest on his stomach, and Kunikuzushi towering over him. Both of them in a comfortable position.
“I can’t believe you came in here and didn’t even kiss me first before turning off that light. You have you’re priorities wrong.”
“I’m not going to touch you when you’re sleeping, freak.”
“Maybe you should.”
“Don’t even- this is not a fight you can finish.”
“Try Me.”
