How I wish it were only a dream
Even now I still dream of you
I brush the dust off from old memories
Like returning home to retrieve a forgotten item
Vergil revisited Julia’s old apartment home in Fortuna. He remembers his old forgotten memories that he never wanted to discard. Until now, he still dream of his supposedly future fiancée
In the end it was you who taught me that
Some happinesses can't be reclaimed
My dark, hidden past I dared not speak of
Without you, they would have remained forever dark
Julia taught him that there are types of happiness that don’t come back due to pain, loss, and trauma. Vergil prefers to keep his dark past hidden and unsaid to Julia. But was relief, that a woman who is headstrong is also open, kind-hearted, and understanding. He honestly said to himself that if he didn’t met Julia, his life would be completely dark
I know there is no way I could ever hurt
More than I do now
He knows that as a Son of Sparda.. pain and sadness will come. It’s a curse who inherits his blood. His childhood trauma still linger

He still remember the painful and saddest last memory he had with Julia, when he was about to leave Fortuna. He doesn’t want to leave her since majority of his happiest memories was with her being with her side, and Vergil loved every bit of it. In his heart, there is still a bitter feeling that he can’t let go which is his childhood trauma that happened 10 years ago. Even though, he promise to Julia that he will come back. He is not sure, until he defeated his family’s nemesis. He reminded to himself that Julia is still his light.
In the darkness I traced the outlines of your back
I remember it's contour so clearly
Every time I encounter something that's all too overwhelming
It's the tears that won't stop overflowing
When Vergil arrived in Julia’s bedroom, he remembers the time both of them naked lying in her bed. He traced her back, he vividly remember its outline very well. His encounter with Julia thru love, and comfort is something he can't fully accept, since these feelings he have will not last long
What were you doing, what were you watching
Your face in profile, with a look I'd never seen
He doesn't understand, and decipher what Julia is feeling, since he never seen her face look sorrow, and in pain

Lost in the same tears, the same loneliness as I

He wonders where Julia is with his missing pieces of his memories.. At that time, both couple miss, and thinking about each other. He is hoping that Julia would have move on after he left her in Fortuna.

But I will never forget That is the certain truth
3 years.. 3 years of him staying in Fortuna. He realizes he was in love with Julia until now. He can't breathe easy, and thinks it's not real. He will never forget, but still wondering why she was always there by his side.

One of the last missing piece of his memory that came crashing down again, when he came back to Fortuna. He still has bitter feelings on that day. He regretted that he didn't save Julia against the demons. He still loves her, but he sorrowfully can't back home due to this painful and sad memory that still lingers. If he will come back, it's after he got his revenge.
He has his son to be protected at all cost.. his last chance, and whenever he sees Nero. He still reminded that this is their son, and Vergil's light thru Julia's love for saving their son.
