Work Text:
Astarion looked around the campsite, his eyes trailing over his companions. He didn’t bother hiding his undead hunger, his lips curled into a smile as his fangs glinted in the dim moonlight. He took a sip of wine deep in thought, his nose wrinkling at the taste. He looked up as you began to approach him and he instantly sat straighter.
“Hello darling.”
It had been a while since you had caught up with Astarion. The tiefling party still fresh in your mind among other things. Pent up emotions hung heavy, and you noticed certain tension throughout the group but declined to do anything quite serious about it yet.
“Not to your liking, I presume?”
You notice the face Astarion makes as he sips his wine, it seems almost funny but you dare not make too snarky of a comment at him.
“The vintage could be better.” He said coolly, the look of distaste evident on his face as he swirled the red wine in the cup. He tilted it up as if to drain it in a gulp and paused. “Actually darling, I’m not thirsty.”
“That’s a surprise.” You say while crossing your arms across your chest, almost mockingly. A small smirk grows on your face.
“I do surprise with great frequency.”
Astarion’s voice sounded almost purring as he spoke. As he looked at you he almost seemed to be trying to distract you, as if he were a cat trying to catch the attention of a bird.
“I take it you want something? I’m not here for your company.” He said.
“I’m hurt. Can I not just talk to my companion in good company?” You placed a hand over your heart, acting hurt with a pitiful look on your face.
Astarion stared at you for a few moments in silence, his eyes almost piercing with their intensity. As you held to the act he sighed, then chuckled.
“You’re a terrible actor darling. So dramatic. But fine. I’m willing to give you my attention for a moment.”
You throw your head back in annoyance but don’t say anything at first, sighing to yourself. “That stung a little but I’ll let it slide I suppose.”
“I’m glad I have your oh so gracious forgiveness.” Astarion rolled his eyes and swirled his wine again. “But really, darling. What is it you want? A drink, a laugh?”
“To be honest I was rather bored and wandered over here by mistake I suppose.” You cross your arms across your chest again, swaying from side to side. “Maybe that was a mistake.”
“Darling.” Just as before he imbued his words with the same purr he always used. “Do you have nothing better to do with your time than speak with me?”
You shrug your shoulders slightly. “Suppose not. Karlach and Shadowheart are busy doing something else at the moment. And Gale is who knows where..” You pause. “Is my company not wanted?”
“Darling, your company is welcome. I can never turn down the sight of something so charming. And as entertaining as your little acts are, I am sure you have more important things to do than to simply be my audience.” He raised his eyebrow and looked at you coyly.
“I have nowhere else to go at this time of night, why not spend it with someone else?”
“Then you shall have me as your companion.” Astarion paused for a moment considering. “As long as you can keep the conversation interesting, that is.”
“I suppose that’s rather fair.” You breathe in a sigh before speaking again. “Then what shall we talk about? Anything of note you’d like to discuss?”
“You. I am a naturally inquisitive creature and I know so little of you.” His expression softened somewhat, still tinged with a touch of arrogance. “Tell me about yourself, or whatever is bothering you,”
You blink your eyes a few times in surprise, not expecting that blunt of an answer. Maybe it was the wine talking, or maybe he had something else up his sleeve. You weren’t quite sure.
“Is there anything in particular you’re interested in? That’s a rather broad topic.”
“If I were to be picky I would say tell me about your past. Before you came to the camp and the things that led to you joining this… motley crew. I know more about the others combined than about you. Their mouths never stop talking about their putrid lives.”
“You’re always picky.” You say with a laugh before continuing. “But alright. Mine isn’t quite as interesting as the others I’ll say. I lost my parents when I was young. Well, young as you can expect for an elf, and had to fend for myself for quite a while.”
“Oh, poor thing. Did you have no one willing to take you in?” Astarion decided to take another sip of wine after all, his voice softer as he listened. “To my understanding elves were always a tight knit group within their community.”
You sat there in silence for a moment, unsure of what to say. The past had a funny way of working its way into one’s mind. You bit your lip, lost in thought and eyes spacing out further away as you did.
“I… wasn’t quite welcome by my people.”
Astarion’s smirk grew wider. “What did you do to be shunned?” The look on his face was almost teasing, though the glint of curiosity still remained in his red eyes.
“I’m too curious for my own good I suppose.”
Astarion hummed thoughtfully. “You do strike me as someone who is not willing to listen to authority. How did your curiosity lead to you being shunned? Did you disobey your elders?”
“I was looking into forbidden knowledge.” You look off into the distance as to not meet Astarion’s eyes. “About the Abyss.”
His expression darkened. “And what did you find?” His voice sounded dangerous, like a snake slithering around your feet.
“I’d rather… not discuss it to be quite honest. It wasn’t very pleasant to learn.”
“Of course. I wouldn’t want to force you to speak on anything that makes you uncomfortable.” He sipped his wine again for a moment while contemplating. “I do have to wonder then. Did this forbidden knowledge have an effect on you? In all forms of fantasy, knowledge about demons tends to be cursed.”
You give a strained smile, trying to express that you were okay at the moment. “Let’s just say it’s separated from the mortal realms for a reason. I’m glad it only affected me mentally…”
Astarion almost downed his wine before responding. His eyes narrowed as he considered what he had learned. “Why would you want to know more about such a… foul place, darling? To me, knowledge of the Abyss would only inspire fear.”
“Mm. As I said before, I’m too curious for my own good. I have a thirst for knowledge that is quite limitless, it just reached the wrong place.”
“I like that about you, darling. It’s a rare trait.” He set his wine down on the ground and looked back at you over the top of the cup. “What else do you enjoy, besides knowledge?”
“Wonderful food, great drinks, and good sex.”
“Now that is something we have in common.” Astarion smirked widely, he couldn’t help but think about the night you spent together before. “But what about the non-essentials? Likes hobbies, other insignificant things?”
“I suppose I have a soft spot for the arts.”
“I believe that is an understatement. You have been responsible for so many of the works I have seen over the past few weeks. Your paintings are quite impressive darling. I almost wish your talent didn’t have to go to waste.” His lips formed a cruel mocking smile as he spoke.
“I feel like that is both a compliment and an insult.”
“I meant what I said. You have the potential to create greatness. But being with this group is going to hold you back from truly reaching your full potential, or at least that is my personal opinion.” Astarion paused for a moment as if expecting you to respond.
“It’s not like I can do much with my work. As much as I enjoy painting there’s not too much I can do for others with it.”
"But if you were to strike out on your own... Perhaps after all you could travel to the nearby towns, sell your paintings, maybe even write a tome for others to learn from." The purring was back with his next sip of new wine. "You might even be able to find a place to make the paintings you want to make. The camp is holding you back, not allowing you to explore your craft fully."
You stew on his words for a moment. Did he really think so highly of your work?
“Why are you so interested in it?”
Astarion smirked at this as he leaned back in his chair, as he looked you over. "Darling, don't sell yourself short. You're skilled, with a knack for the arts. This is clear. That can be valuable in and of itself. But why am I interested? It's simple. I am curious. About you, about your past, about your hopes and dreams. Though I doubt I'll ever get much more from you on that last topic."
“And why do you think you won’t?”
"I've tried to get you to open up to me before. Every time I do you seem to change the subject." A sharp edge creeps back into his tone of voice.
“I… I wasn’t sure I could trust you.”
"So now you trust me enough to talk to me about... forbidden knowledge? But not your own past." Astarion's voice hardened as he asked the question.
You feel the harshness of his words, but are curious as to why he’s so sharp about you. You weren’t sure if he was interested in something more.
“I… I’m sorry, okay? I’m not used to people wanting to be close to me.”
"And I suppose you're not used to letting people close either." His tone softened slightly and he leaned back in his chair. "I'm just... curious. I know so much about the rest of the group, but you've given me nothing. But don't worry, darling." His voice grew softer, the purring sound creeping back in. "I'll keep trying until I figure you out."
“I suppose we can learn together.”
"Now you're speaking my language. I'm eager to see what secrets you've been hiding behind that charming facade of yours."
“Then ask away.” You swallow your pride, ready to share.
"Alright. Simple question to start us off. How old are you?"
“Two hundred and twenty three.” As a high elf himself, you were sure this wouldn’t surprise Astarion. Probably.
"You do look lovely for your age, darling." Astarion's lips formed a cruel smile as his gaze swept over you once more. "Alright. Where were you born?"
“Not too far from Candlekeep. As that’s where I gained my taste for knowledge.” You reminisce about the old library and the wonders you first began to learn. You had wished you could experience it all over again, if you could.
"Ah, yes. The famous library." The purring in Astarion's voice died off almost entirely as he grew thoughtful. "Candlekeep was your home then? I can't help but wonder what would have made one as ambitious as yourself to leave such a place."
“Baldur’s Gate had a lot of new people and information I didn’t know about. So it became ever so tempting as the years went on to reach the gates.”
Astarion took a long moment to think about your answer. His lips quivered upwards as he took a sip from his cup. "Why did you decide to join this group? Were you not satisfied with life in Baldur's Gate at the time?"
You laugh for a moment before bringing a hand up and tapping at the side of your head. “Did you forget about our little situation? I feel like it’s better alone than having our little friend with us.”
“Ah… that. I was too wrapped up in your words I forgot about our slimy companion. I most definitely want to get rid of our vile pal as well..”
“That’s for sure.” You pause. “And you? What was life like for you before the camp?”
You agreed with Astarion that you knew well of your other companions, almost too much. However, he had not yet revealed too much of his own story besides a few slips here and there that he couldn’t quite avoid. You were curious.
Astarion seemed to flinch at your question. He took a sip from his wine again slowly to avoid responding for a moment. "I was bored. Being stuck with that... lord of a master was quite dull. I missed the hunt of my preternatural life. I'm sure you can relate." Astarion's tone grew slightly sharper, though any malice had not yet returned to his voice.
Something in you knew he was lying. And you wanted to confront him, aftering telling so much about yourself it didn’t quite seem fair in your mind.
“Astarion… you can tell me the truth.”
Astarion's eyes narrowed even further as he looked back over at you. "Tell you what, darling?"
The mocking sound was back in his voice as he smiled at you once more clearly strained.
“I told you mine, you tell me yours. Simple as that. I’d rather you not lie as I was being straight with you.”
"And what's to stop me? It's funny." He leaned back in his chair and looked away from you with a grin. "You tell me your story and expect me to reciprocate. I don't remember that ever being a part of the deal. And besides... It's just my nature to lie." He shrugged at you without a second thought.
You should have known it would end this way. But something in you wanted it to be different, although that seemed to just be a wish. I suppose Astarion’s cutthroat nature wasn’t going to let down easily.
“..Fine then. I guess I’ll be on my way.” You go to stand, shaking off your clothes of any debris.
"Why the sudden hurry darling?" I thought that we were having fun." His eyes flickered towards you once more, with a smirk on his face.
You give Astarion a harsh look, shooting a deadly glance expressing your feelings. “I suppose I was, until you decided to be a dick about it.”
Astarion's eyes went wide for a moment before he broke into a cruel chuckle. "You're entertaining, I'll give you that much. And I suppose I'll give you what you want. If you have to force it out of me I will tell you the truth. So... ask away."
He wasn’t being sincere. He was mocking you, acting a performance in front of the camp. He had no intention of sharing anything with you and it angered you more than you thought. You weren’t too sure why.
“I reveal information about me, tell you about things I’m vulnerable about, and you have the nerve to push me away after doing that? Whatever, I guess you don’t really give a shit anyways…”
Astarion's laugh was sharp. "Your right dear. Your vulnerability doesn't affect me in the slightest." The mocking tone in his voice grew stronger with every word he spoke. "Now. Ask me your question so we can be done with this."
“No. I’d rather not. You ruined the mood.” You grit your teeth tightly in anger.
"Then this is as far as this game of ours goes?" He leaned back in his chair, and gave you a smirk. "My offer of honesty didn't come without strings." He gave you a wink as he took another drink.
You bite your lip in anger. Not sure how to formulate your words correctly. “And I wonder why no one wants to get closer to you.” You seethe as you walk your way back towards your tent, anger boiling inside.
One more cruel laugh escaped Astarion's lips before he spoke once more. "You're mistaken if you think no one wants to get close to me." The mocking tone in his voice seemed stronger than it ever had before. "But as for why you don't... Well that's a game not worth playing. It's only ever going to end with hurt feelings. But I suppose I did ruin the mood."
You don’t turn back to face him, but raise your hand up displaying a proud middle finger back at him before making your way towards your tent.
Astarion smirked as you gave him the finger. "Oh honey, you can do so much better than that. You're a high elf, born of a noble house. You should know of a hundred more creative ways to tell me to go fuck myself'."
You turn to face him finally, your anger spilling over. “You’d like that wouldn’t you?” You shout at him, quite loud. You didn’t care if anyone heard you if there was someone still in camp. You didn’t care as you slid the front of your tent down and cover yourself behind it.
Astarion seemed to love it, his tone was still teasing. "Maybe I would, maybe I wouldn't. Would you like me to?" He spoke as if it was just a friendly banter between friends, though the undercurrent of cruelty was hard to miss.
You didn’t bother to reply. Your tent was askew but that didn’t bother you either. You just wanted to sleep. You try to lay down inside, attempting to fall asleep but the cold air nipped at your skin a little too much for your liking.
---
You sigh. It most likely had been over an hour now and you were still awake. Cold biting at your skin. Tossing and turning didn’t seem to generate enough heat for you to lull into sleep. The bedrolls outside were waiting for you. Near the warm campfire, alluring.
You didn’t want to go outside, didn’t want to swallow your pride and face yourself to Astarion but it seemed like you had no other choice if you wanted to get any sleep. Inside your tent was quiet, the sound of the cold wind blowing outside almost completely blocked out by the canvas. After a moment, the sound of someone shuffling outside of your tent broke the silence.
Astarion’s voice, sounding softer than usual, drifted through your tent. “Darling… I’m sorry.” He waited another long moment, sounding as if he was waiting for you to speak before continuing. “If you let me in I’ll tell you the truth, without any strings. Promise.”
You sit up for a moment. You pondered, not sure what to do. Biting your tongue you roll your eyes before opening the door to your tent wordlessly as you come face to face with Astarion. He stood there for a moment. He seemed serious now, his mocking tone was absent entirely. That left only his calm, soothing voice.
“Please… I’ll tell you what you want. I’ll give you the truth. All of it.”
You motioned for him to come inside and he gingerly stepped inside your tent, closing your curtain behind him. Astarion moved through your tent and made his way towards your bed.
“And you’ll be honest?” You asked.
Astarion took a deep breath. No more tricks, no more games. "You have my word, I'll tell you the truth." He looked at you with genuine sincerity in his eyes, though it could have been just another act. His tone remained gentle.
You shuffle in your bed. Trying to adjust yourself before speaking. “Alright… go ahead.”
"Alright." Astarion hesitated for a moment. "My life before I was turned into a vampire... it isn't quite what I made it sound in there. I didn't leave home out of a desire for adventure... I left because Cazador wanted to use me as a 'play thing' if you can call it that." Astarion let you process that statement before continuing once more. "You see, Cazador and his other children were born vampires. I, on the other hand, was not."
“Yes, you said you were called a spawn?”
“Yes… He had made me one when I was around… I don’t think it matters how old exactly. Cazador brought me back as a spawn and told me not to leave Baldur’s Gate. To serve him eternally.”
“I’m sorry… that sounds… terrible.” You were careful with your words. Trying not to say anything that would hurt him.
You listened to Astarion vent to you. You wanted to comfort him, you knew his anger now wasn’t targeted at you. It was towards Cazador. You wanted to do something to show you cared but you weren’t sure how. Especially after the earlier encounter.
Astarion seemed to be on the verge of crying. He looked over at you for a moment, his eyes watering. "Please tell me that you understand, darling." His voice was quiet after speaking, almost as if he was afraid to speak too loud. Astarion then stood up and began pacing back and forth as he spoke. "I don't want to be hated by what seems to be the only person that I can trust in this damn party yet..."
You were taken aback by his words. Astarion was raw, full of emotion and it… hurt. “I… can’t fully understand what you’ve been through since I myself haven’t experienced it. But I know that what you did go through was… absolute horror. I’m truly sorry that you had to go through any of that. And if there's anything you need… I’ll be here.”
Astarion looked down at you. He seemed surprised, and genuinely touched by your words. You had done more than he had expected, you had offered what seemed to be true kindness. Something he wasn’t shown in a very long time.
“Thank you… And I apologize. You don’t have to forgive me or anything. If you don’t want to speak with me, that's fine. Just… Just know that I don’t hate you.”
You smile at him, gentle and genuine. “I understand now. It’s alright. Thank you for telling me. It truly means a lot that you’re able to trust me as much as this.” You pause. “..I don’t hate you either.”
Astarion looked back at you, studying your face in a way that seemed almost... sweet. "If I didn't trust you, I would never have told you any of this. But I'm glad you don't hate me."
You smile again at him. “It is definitely not wasted on you. Don’t tell the others but… you’re my favorite.” You wink mischievously at him, bringing a little bit of humor back.
Astarion’s eyes went a bit wide as a faint blush appeared on his cheeks. “I- You’re just saying that…”
“Karlach, Shadowheart, Gale… all well and great but you’re definitely my favorite.”
“And why is that?”
You ponder for a moment. Thinking about Astarion. You weren’t too sure what specifically drew you to him but it was alluring. You thought back to the several memories you shared with him and your mind somehow thought back to the first night he had bitten you… Astarion gave you a look, curious as to why you had not spoken.
“I’m sorry, I was lost in thought for a moment. I wasn’t sure if you needed any more blood..” You admitted your thoughts out loud. Not wanting to lie. “But I am serious. You are important to me, Astarion.”
Astarion felt as if a great weight had been lifted from his shoulders. He wasn't being screwed with. You genuinely liked him. He had never expected that. He thought for a moment before responding with a small smile.
"You know, that's probably the kindest thing anyone has ever said to me." Astarion's voice was soft and sincere. No mocking tone. No games. Astarion spoke without any of his usual snark for once.
“Glad to be of service.” You joked.
"That's not what I mean you-" Astarion sighed and shook his head as he ran a hand through his hair. "I've just... never been... liked. Let alone loved. So, I don't really know what to do now." I'm not joking when I say that, I don't know what to do..."
“Oh.. it’s alright. You don’t have to do anything you’re not comfortable with. I won’t pressure you. What does your heart tell you?”
Astarion paused for a moment, his mind racing once more. "I... I think I'm falling for you... but I know that you don't feel the same way, so I'm going to pretend like it never happened. If I didn't know any better, I'd almost say that those stupid love songs that Shadowheart likes might mean something after all." Astarion chuckled as he spoke, seeming completely oblivious to what he just said.
You pause. You had a feeling this is what he’d meant but you were still taken aback. “Who said I didn’t feel the same?” You said after a moment. You were sure of your own feelings but this was quite the shock.
Astarion's face went bright red as he stared at you, his mind unable to process what he heard. You couldn't possibly have been into him, he was a monster... he killed for a living. And yet, here you were telling him that you liked him. It was surreal.
"Y...you feel the same way?" Astarion's tone sounded completely incredulous as he spoke.
“I do.”
Astarion looked at you for a moment, as if he was expecting some catch. As if this must have been some elaborate trick, there was no way that he'd gotten this lucky for once in his 280 years of living. But you only spoke in affirmation, there was no doubt in your voice.
"I... can't believe it." Astarion finally found the courage to sit up, and with it his face broke out into a smile. "Darling, you have no idea what this means to me."
“I’m glad you feel the same way. I was starting to think this was a little one sided.” You say with a small laugh.
Astarion chuckled as he spoke, almost sounding like his usual, snark self. He then paused for a moment, looking as if he was going to say something, but he changed his mind halfway through.
"We won't get much sleep if we keep talking." He suddenly blushed with slight embarrassment, before looking at your bed and grinning once again. "Do you think I... could... join you? Just for the night?"
“If you’re alright with the others seeing and making comments I suppose.” You say laughing again, trying to ease him into it. You shimmy over, trying to make room for Astarion as much as you could before patting at the side next to you, inviting him closer.
Astarion blushed at your movement toward him, but it quickly faded as he gently laid himself next to you. He smiled as you patted the spot next to you, before leaning in close and resting his head on your shoulder and looking at you.
"Thank you for being so kind to me." He said softly, waiting for you to speak.
You could tell he was being vulnerable with you, a good change, a welcome change. You liked it. “Why would anyone be cruel to someone who has suffered so much?” You reach over to him, slowly. You didn’t want to startle him. Reaching out, you place your hand on his arm reassuringly.
Astarion blushed at your touch, he seemed to be enjoying your presence for once. But he was far from calm, his skin seemed to be... trembling. His tone was soft and calm yet you could tell that his heart was beating a million miles a minute.
"It's not easy... and sometimes I wonder if I should be so trusting with someone like you, yet I can't help it when I'm with you. There is something that just seems so..." Astarion trailed off, not knowing how to finish his sentence.
“So..?”
Astarion's mind raced once more as he tried to figure out the correct words for the thought that was lingering on his mind. He wanted to say that he felt attracted to you, but he wasn't sure if he was ready to admit that even to himself.
"So... comforting." Astarion finally finished his sentence, he seemed almost embarrassed by what he had just said.
“I’m glad.”
Astarion returned your gaze and gave a small laugh, his smile quickly returning. "I'm glad as well." Astarion looked at you before looking away again, he suddenly looked sheepish. "My feelings for you... I'm still trying to figure that out right now...But I want you to know that I am attracted to you as a start.”
You giggle, smiling at him as well. “Well that’s good. This would be kinda awkward if you weren’t… I’m attracted to you as well.”
Astarion gave you another shy smile. The idea of you being attracted to him was something that he hadn't taken a moment to consider. He was just glad that you didn't dislike him. "I should let you know... I'm not completely innocent. I know what my nature is. So don't expect me to be the ideal lover. At the end of the day, I still have desires that I can't ignore."
“You’ve already had my blood before, it’s okay if you’ll need more.” You tell him, as if this is common knowledge. “I’ll tell you if you go too far.”
Astarion suddenly seemed nervous again, as if he was ashamed to admit this next part. "I meant blood... and more." He whispered the last part, as if he was embarrassed by what he had just said. Astarion’s face returned to a shy and slightly red expression, his body trembling slightly as he felt overwhelmed even by simple things such as talking with you.
“Oh…” You blush. “If you’re referring to what I think you are, I’m fine with that too.”
Astarion blushed at your words, if you were fine with that then... maybe it wouldn't be so bad. You were already attracted to him, and he to you, so what was the problem with you giving into each other's desires?
"Is it alright if I ask you a question?" He asks you.
“Go ahead.”
Astarion took a deep breath and let it out, trying to gather his thoughts. He was nervous yet he couldn't stop feeling an intense urge to ask you this question.
"Can I... kiss you?" Astarion took a moment after that to process what he just said, as if he had to convince himself that he really just did say that.
You smile in a way that is both happy and nervous. You felt the blush deepen on your skin but ignored it. “I would like that.” Technically this wasn’t anything new between the two of you, but this time it seemed different.
Astarion took your words as approval, and with that he moved up to your level and pulled you in close. His blush was growing with each second, and his heart was beating faster than he feared that even a slight breeze could break it. He brought his lips down and kissed you, softly and tenderly, as if it was as careful as it possibly could be.
His lips were soft, and gentle. Not what you were expecting but welcomed it greatly. You kissed him back, not too overbearing but enough to show him you accepted him.
Astarion's body went still at the feeling of your kiss, his entire body reacting like it was ablaze. The kiss was tender, yet the fact that he was kissing you, that your eyes were closed just for him, made his blush grow even more fierce. As you stopped for a moment, Astarion seemed to lose himself in the moment. Without meaning to, he leaned in one last time and gave you a slightly stronger kiss, before pulling away again and speaking softly.
"Thank you."
You reach out slowly, bringing a hand up to his face to cup his cheek. You rub your finger gently across his skin and smile at him. Astarion leaned into your touch, savoring every little bit of it. This was something completely new to him. You were kind, you liked him for who he was, and you were gentle with him. Yet he still couldn't bring himself to believe it. Was this a dream? A trap?
Astarion's body continued to tremble as if you touching him was making it go wild. There was no other way to describe it, it's as if he was being hit with waves of pleasure just from your touch. You lean in this time, and bring your lips to him. Stronger, more confident than the gentle kiss before.
Astarion's eyes snapped shut the moment you leaned back in, the feeling of you kissing him once more was enough to make his whole body react. Your body was soft, and warm, and he wanted to pull you in. He couldn't help but wonder if you wanted more than just another kiss. But he would let you take things at your own pace. Astarion pulled back once more and stared at you, he felt dizzy at this new development in his life.
"I... think you might be the best thing that's happened to me in... a long time."
“I’m glad.” Was all you said, yet it conveyed all the emotions and feelings you had in just two simple words.
Astarion took a moment to smile at you, and in return he put his hands on your face and gently tilted your face so that you were once again looking in his eyes.
"Do we... kiss some more then?"
Astarion seemed lost in thought, his own heart was racing from the words you spoke to him. It seemed too good to be true. He looked as if he wanted to say more, but couldn't. The words got stuck in his mouth, unable to be released as his heart continued to pound like a drum.
“If you’d like. I’m not stopping you.”
That was all the approval that he needed from you, your words caused him to blush once more. Yet with this in mind, he pulled you in close, his hands still gently caressing your face as he did so. His breath grew heavy, in fact his whole body seemed to be reacting to you touching him. His lips were pressed into yours once more, his hands now going down your back as he kissed you deeply.
You let out a noise as Astarion’s hand moved down your back. And relished in the kiss he was giving you. It was deep, hungry.
Astarion held you close, enjoying every moment. He let his tongue explore your mouth, his lips pulling away from yours before pushing back in again. He pulled back once more and spoke, his voice was slow and soft.
"You're more beautiful than I could have ever imagined." Astarion said, his tone was quiet and thoughtful, as if he was being completely honest.
You reach your hand out and it finds itself entangled in Astarion’s hair, you gently tug at his locks while kissing him still. Astarion let out a moan as you tugged at his hair. He let you take control of the situation, and it allowed him to enjoy himself instead of rushing through things. He gave you full control over when the kiss would stop.
He finally spoke once more, speaking while still kissing you. "I want... so many things from you..."
“You can do whatever you please.” You say to Astarion, face full of desire as you look back up at him. “You can have me, all of me.” Your body felt like it was on fire, driven on overdrive. Even Astarion’s cold touch couldn’t quench the lustful warmth you felt.
Astarion wrapped his hands once more around your body, pulling you closer as he once again kissed you passionately. The offer you gave him... it was everything he could have ever asked for. And now that he finally had the chance to get it... he wasn't about to waste it. He didn't pause for a moment, instead he just kept going. His whole body was practically on fire, his breath hot and heavy, his heart pounding through his chest. He continued to kiss you, as if trying to pour all of his thoughts, all of his emotions, into his kiss.
You part your lips slightly as an invitation, and he obliged. His tongue slid into your mouth and you mused into him in pleasure. Astarion's entire body shuddered at the touch of your tongue, even though he had no need for air right now your kiss was filling his heart with a feeling that only you could give him. Your words, your touch, all of you... made him feel so alive. He grabbed you, pulling you with all his strength to try and get as close as he possibly could. Astarion didn't want this moment to stop, ever.
The touch of his hands against your hips sent carnal messages throughout your body and mind. You needed him. You wanted him. You desired him.
Astarion's body trembled with each breath he took, his mind running wild with all thoughts of what just a single touch from you made him feel. The hunger in his voice as you felt his grip tighten only grew stronger with every word he spoke.
"Need you..." His voice was raspy even as he spoke, yet somehow he seemed to speak with even more passion than he did before. His voice was filled with desire, and a burning hunger that he could only hope you felt as strongly as him.
Your back arches, meeting Astarion’s chest as you do so. Your own chest pushing into him, wanting. Astarion's breath grew heavier as you pushed into him, as if every part of you had to get close to him. His mind was filled with the image of you wanting him more than anything else you had ever wanted. It was a pleasant thought.
"Need you so much..." Astarion's voice was barely above a whisper.
Your hips buck to meet his, everything inside of you was screaming for him. All you wanted right now was Astarion. Astarion's body went still, his mind racing with all kinds of thoughts and feelings. You seemed to want him more than he had ever wanted anyone else in his life, what was different about you? What was it that made Astarion feel so strongly about this moment? He continued to hold you tightly, his hands on your hips as he met yours. His body seemed to pulse with energy and anticipation, his heart beating faster and faster with each passing moment.
Both of you still had your clothes on, and the fabric didn’t do much justice to the situation. You hurriedly removed your top showing him how much you wanted him. Astarion's breath hitched as you revealed yourself to him, your body exposed to him. His words came out a whisper once again and his hands trembled.
"Beautiful, so beautiful..." What was he doing? His mind was racing in every direction as his heart raced forward. There was so much energy going through him that even just holding still for a moment felt harder and harder.
Astarion's breath hitched as your hand touched his face. His heart raced with your every movement, his eyes unable to leave your body or your face. Your touch on his face, your body in his arms... it was like every part of him was coming to life. He couldn't believe what he was hearing, what he was seeing, this moment had to be real. He finally returned to speaking, but once again he barely spoke above a whisper.
"Can... Can I do what I please with you?"
Astarion didn't understand what he was doing to deserve this, why you were so kind to him. It was a strange feeling for him, like you cared about him for once... it was a good feeling. He still felt like he might wake up from this dream at any moment, and so he spoke up again.
"You're sure you want this? You want me to be your lover. What if... what if I'm horrible at this... or I'm too rough with you?"
You chuckle for a second. As if his question was ridiculous but you knew he meant it. “Yes. I want it. I know you have your doubts and that’s okay, but trust me when I say I want this. Plus I wouldn’t mind if you were a little rough. I’m kinda into that.” You say teasing.
Astarion seemed to melt at your words, they seemed to hit a nerve he didn't expect was so strong. He put a finger on your lips to silence you, his breath hitched for a moment as he stared into your eyes. You were saying so many wonderful things to him and it was enough to push all of his worries away.
"I want nothing more in life to please you." He finally spoke up, his voice no longer as soft as it once was. Astarion was confident, and with your words he felt as though he was indestructible.
Your spine shivers at Astarion’s words. You have never felt so turned on before in your life, it was like your whole body was screaming for him.
Astarion didn't hesitate, he put his hand on your hip and pulled you as close as you could get to him. He could feel your body shaking and quivering as you met his own. The sensation made it feel like he was standing over a furnace, with your heat making his skin tingle. A star struck grin formed on his face yet again, the sound of his own breathing seemed to drown out the rest of the world to him. He spoke with words dripping in confidence and passion, and with your body so close to his he felt alive.
You began to fumble with the strings on Astarion’s shirt. You were slightly tugging at it, eagerly. Astarion knew what you wanted, he let go of your hips for a moment and pulled his shirt off with a single motion, his own movements dripping with passion and desire.
You stared at his now revealed body, eyes dripping with lust. He was built so beautifully you were awestruck for a moment. His shirt didn’t do his body justice. Astarion was muscular, strong yet graceful. Every part of him was perfect. Even his eyes, his fangs, his smooth skin. He was gorgeous in every sense of the word. His confidence only grew with your stare, even as your eyes filled with lust and love. He couldn't help but take your stare into him, every part of him was being admired. His own eyes were locked with yours, taking in the image of your face as you took in the image of his bare body.
Your senses were beginning to go on overdrive. You needed some form of stimulation and the words fell off your tongue before you even had time to think.
“I want you to drink from me.”
Astarion's face lit up, his eyes growing wide with pleasure. Without even thinking he leaned into you, his tongue sliding across your neck to find the perfect place to draw from. His hands held you close, ensuring you would never escape. His mouth opened as he sank his fangs into your neck. Blood trickled out from beneath your skin, and down the skin of your neck. Astarion drank, his eyes closed as he let himself be fueled by his passion.
It was painful but also so pleasurable. You felt Astarion across your neck, and let out a moan as he drank from you.
Your moan drove him further and further, and he drank more and more eagerly. The taste of your blood was intoxicating, he had never drunk straight from someone's neck before you. He was overwhelmed with new sensations, and he didn't want this moment to end. Astarion's eyes remained shut the entire time, your moan and your taste drove him mad. His fingers traced your body, and as he drank more his grasp on you slowly tightened.
As he drank from you, his body was so close to you. It was overwhelming, intoxicating. You didn’t hesitate as you reached your hands into Astarion’s hair again and tugged at him. It was like Astarion's body suddenly became ten times more sensitive. Every inch of him was begging for your touch, for your attention. He seemed to drink from you harder as if wanting to feel your touch more. Astarion finally allowed himself to feel what your body felt like, every inch of it making him shake with pleasure.
“Touch me more, I need you.” You breathed out.
Astarion's mouth and teeth made a loud 'click' as he pulled away, his tongue running across your neck to suck up the last of your blood. As the last drop left your neck, Astarion let his grip on you tighten once more. Your words made him want to do what you asked. He lifted a hand up your body, his fingers slowly tracing along the bare skin of your stomach.
“Lower… please.” You begged.
Astarion's fingers traced along your stomach for a moment, his hand pausing when it met the fabric of your clothing. He looked up at you, his heart pounding as your hunger for each other grew stronger. You ached for him. You didn’t know how much longer you could wait. You grabbed his hand, tired of the teasing and gave him a demanding sort of look. Hungry, almost primal.
Your hunger was infectious, and Astarion's own lust and passion grew with it. He leaned lower, his hand sliding away from your clothes now and his fingers brushing across your skin once more. Astarion's nose traced over your body, his tongue tasting your skin for everything it was worth. He wanted to be close to every part of you. He wanted to know every inch of you. You were his. His only.
Astarion sank lower and lower down your body before he planted himself in between your thighs. Your body was shaking slightly, aching so desperately for something from him more than small touches. You could feel his breath on your thighs, his mouth a hairs length from your skin yet still not touching. Your legs trembled as Astarion seemed to enjoy just playing with you. His fingers began to slide over your thighs, your body shuddering with every touch.
You let out an involuntary moan at this, as he was finally reaching the places you wanted him most at, but not close enough. Your moan was music to his ears, and he seemed to take his time before speaking.
"Beg for it."
Astarion's voice was nothing more than a whisper, but he spoke it with such confidence that your eyes remained closed. Your legs shook even more at his words, and you wanted nothing more than to satisfy his command.
“Astarion, please I need it.”
Your words were all that Astarion needed to hear, you needed him and he knew that. He pushed back the hunger that had been building within him for so many decades, all to please you in this moment. Astarion's fingers traced over your legs once more before slowly moving even higher. There was no hesitation, and he wasn't taking his time. He was yours and for now that was enough for him.
Astarion gripped your thighs tightly, you couldn’t tell if he was trying to hold his hunger back in more ways than one, but gods you didn’t care. You wanted him to be rough with you.
His face was now mere inches from you, directly in between your thighs. You still had your lower garments on but that didn’t stop Astarion from going. You were sure he could tell just how aroused you were even with the clothes, and he gave you a sultry smirk.
With one swift movement he used one of his hands and quickly roamed his fingers up from your thigh to your sex. The mere slight touch was enough to send shivers down your spine once more and sparks across your vision. You wanted more.
“My, my. You’re quite eager aren’t you?”
“And you’re quite a tease.”
Astarion said nothing but gave you a cheeky smile, unfazed by your attempt at sharp words. His eyes looked to your exposed hips and stomach eyeing them with desire. Slowly he cocked his head right above your flesh before he trailed his tongue down and across your stomach.
You were barely able to register anything of what just happened before Astarion feverishly pulled the remaining garments you had on down your legs and haphazardly off to the floor beside you. His movements were hasty, you could tell he was trying to drag this as long as he could but his patience seemed to be running thin as well.
You were now exposed completely in front of him, nothing covering you as you lay on the bedroll. This wasn’t the first time of course, but it was different now and you shifted anxiously on your blanket.
“Now… don’t get so flushed now, not until I have my fill of you.”
Astarion was looking down at you, hunger in his eyes. You weren’t sure if it was in more ways than one. Before you knew it, he was once again on top of you. Frenzied kisses scatter your lips before he pulls you into one final longing one, deep and full of passion.
In the midst of your kiss his fingers roam your body, moving lower and lower before finally finding themselves on your sex. You attempt to let out a noise but Astarion’s lips refuse to let you go and muffle your mouth. He moves his fingers in fluid motion, knowing exactly where the most sensitive parts of you are.
You move to match his motions, bucking your hips into his fingers as he does so. It felt so good. Yet, there was little relief. There was still a gnawing feeling that needed release. More, more.
You were practically dripping at this point, so much so it was clearly evident that despite Astarion’s efforts to help it wasn’t doing much to stop the fire spreading across your body. He seemed to notice this, feeling the familiar sensation as your minds crossed.
“Hmm.. aching for more are we?” Astarion speaks in between kisses. “Well.. I suppose I am as well.”
He pulls back from you, leaving you utterly breathless and shaking. You notice the bulge in his pants and just as swiftly as he had with you before, he removes them in one quick movement. It was hard not to admire him, he was utterly gorgeous in every way. His body, his face, everything about him was beautiful. You attempt to move to position yourself better for him, but he stops you.
“No, face me. I want to see every face you make as I have you.”
You oblige, repositioning yourself to be laying on your back as Astarion stands over you. Your heart was in your chest, you look up at him with pleading needy eyes and you tell how much he is enjoying this.
Slowly, Astarion meets your body as he stalkingly moves down to position himself on top of you. You let out a small huff in protest as he painstakingly moves so slowly to you. He gives out a small chuckle, knowing how much your body is screaming for him. He’s savoring every bit of this moment.
Astarion grips your thigh once more, delighting in the feeling of the soft flesh beneath his hand. He then moves to open your legs and places them on either side of him, engulfing himself in between you. Once again your body moves on its own as he does this, driving to meet him in full but Astarion doesn’t give you the full satisfaction you’re dying to receive. Not yet.
“Patience, my darling.”
Astarion lifts your legs in the air slightly, knowing exactly what position to take you in full. His arms still grip you with hot, almost feral hands brimming with want. He was edging himself just as much as he was you.
Finally, he moved to meet you. His tip at your entrance and that alone was enough to drive you up the wall in pleasure. You let out a moan softly and urge him for more. You try earnestly to buck into him but Astarion had leverage over you as he held your legs tight.
“Be good and I’ll give you what you want.” Astarion whispers to you.
“Please, I don’t know how much longer I can wait-“
With that, Astarion thrusts into you fully. Not letting you finish your sentence before doing so. Stars fly across your vision. Fuck. You place a hand over your mouth to keep your composure as much as you can but it felt so goddamn good.
“None of that, I want to hear everything. Keep your eyes on me.”
Astarion pulls out slowly before once again thrusting into you deeply, quicker this time and picking a pace fast enough but leaving you wanting slightly more.
You meet his eyes, lust clouds his vision as he continues to thrust into you but never breaking eye contact. You try your hardest to focus as much as you can on him but the pleasure was building quickly.
You roll your head back, eyes rolling as well. You feel a slight shift and realize it’s Astarion placing your legs on top of his shoulders. His hand, now free, reaches out and grabs your chin pulling it forward so he is once again able to look you in the eyes.
“I said look at me.”
His pace quickens, driving you further. His thrusts become a little out of rhythm but that doesn’t stop him from taking every bit of you. All Astarion wanted was you. Your hand was still covering your mouth, stifling the lewd noises you tried to make. The grip on your chin loosens only for a moment before Astarion repositions his hand right below your mouth.
“If you’re so concerned about the noises you’ll make, I guess I’ll have to shut you up.”
With that, Astarion shoves two fingers into your mouth. Your body jolts in surprise, but a moment later you gladly take him in full. You suck on his fingers, swirling your tongue around them as Astarion continued to fuck you.
He felt so amazing, it was hard to keep your composure. You were losing yourself to the incredible sensation of Astarion inside you as he thrust deeply in and out.
“Gods above, you feel so goddamn good.” Astarion moaned out in between thrusts, his voice cracking from pleasure.
Each thrust into you felt hotter and deeper, driving you closer and closer to your climax. The teasing from earlier made you a thousand times more sensitive than usual so your stamina was likely to run out very soon.
You wanted it, you needed it so bad. Your entire body was aching to come and try as you might you couldn’t hold on much longer. As if Astarion knew this, he retracted his hand from your mouth leaving lines of spit as he did so.
“Fuck, Astarion I’m so close-” you breathed out before turning into a moaning mess unable to finish your sentence.
“Already? What a slut you are..”
Astarion’s pace does not stop, in fact it quickens. Now that his hand was free once again he knew exactly what he needed to do. He reaches down and uses the same two fingers that were in your mouth moments ago to caress your sex, stimulating you over the edge.
You couldn’t hold back any longer. Your climax rushes to you earnestly as Astarion continues to fuck you through it. You bite your lip trying to stifle the incredibly lewd noises but to no avail, you moan loudly as your limbs tremble and quake.
“Shit-”
It seemed as though your own climax brought Astarion to his own. Your body shaking and squeezing him in just the right ways. Astarion’s pace dulls but does not stop. He wanted to make sure he had every bit of you before he could be completely satisfied.
Finally, you feel him climax as well, still inside you. He squeezed his eyes shut tightly relishing in the moment as he remained still throughout his finish, twitching only slightly. His breath was deep and ragged, his stamina overexerted but you could tell he enjoyed every bit of it. As did you.
After a second his eyes slowly opened, fixating themselves upon you. The cloudy lustful gaze was gone. Warmth and affection replaced them in its wake. He pulls out and lies down next to you.
“I suppose we’ll be getting a good night's sleep after all.” Astarion muses.
You chuckle and nod your head. You can feel the pull of exhaustion come over you as you both lay there in each other's company, content. You drift off into sleep, dreaming of Astarion.
