Chapter Text
Seonghwa is the first one up. They usually are, and when it wasn't them, it was typically Yunho or San. But today it was them, which meant they had the task of waking everyone else up, something they had discussed secretly the night prior while San had popped up to the bathroom to do his skincare routine. The first person up would wake the rest, and that way, they could get San’s birthday surprise rolling and ready hopefully by the time the birthday boy himself rises.
Seonghwa’s first target was Hongjoong, his body right next to them and the easiest to wake up. With just a few gentle shakes Hongjoong stirs awake, stretching his limbs out with a yawn.
“Hmm, morning already?” He groans softly, feeling the aches from the previous night.
“Mhm,” Seonghwa smiles, planting a quick greeting kiss on his lips. “Get Yunho,” they say, turning to their other side to wake Mingi up.
Mingi was a little harder, the dancer only partially awake after the first couple shakes. He keeps swatting Seonghwa’s hand away with a grumble, latching onto their waist and hiding his face away. Seonghwa laughs fondly, rubbing his arm tenderly.
“Mingi, baby, we gotta get up.”
Mingi whines, clinging onto Seonghwa even tighter. “Five more minutes.”
“Do you always get this clingy after you’ve been railed?” Hongjoong chuckles, crawling over to the two now that Yunho was fully awake. “‘Cause damn, might do it more often.”
“Shut up,” Mingi is grumbling, yet despite his grumpy tone he’s trying to hide the smile threatening to spread on his face.
He does eventually get up, and Jongho gets woken up by Yunho. The five of them make their way to the second floor, hurrying to get changed and ready for the day. Yunho and Seonghwa are both ready and out of the house in minutes, their task being to grab some more groceries for San’s birthday dinner and to pick up the cake as well.
Jongho is the next one done, heading into the kitchen after he’s done with his skincare. He starts prepping the ingredients for the breakfast, deciding to kill some time while he’s waiting for Mingi. Mingi appears just a few minutes later, and the two begin to prepare and cook the breakfast, making all of San’s favorites. They’re playing music on Mingi’s phone, singing along and partially distracted as they’re doing their own silly dances that has them both giggling at each other.
Hongjoong’s job was decor. He’s decorating the living room, hanging streamers from the walls and ceiling and blowing up balloons using a pump. He has to ask Mingi for help with the banner, and of course Mingi doesn't miss the chance to tease him over how short he is. Hongjoong jumps on his back in retaliation, the two smiling and laughing as they have a playful wrestling battle on the living room floor.
Back in the basement, Wooyoung was starting to wake up. He stretches out his limbs, letting out soft groans as he cracks his favorite areas of his body. “Fuck,” he half-hisses, half-groans when he achieves a particularly good crack in his back, sighing at the instant relief that followed. He looks around the makeshift bed, finding his target and crawling over to him. “Sangie,” he says, shaking the artist awake. “Wake up, bubs.” Yeosang groans, rolling away from Wooyoung and burying his head in a pillow. Wooyoung giggles, crawling over to him again and this time, he sits on top of him, not giving him a chance to escape.
“Come on, it’s Sannie’s birthday. We gotta get him up.”
“Ugh, five more minutes,” Yeosang groans, using his strength to his advantage to move Wooyoung into a little spoon position. Wooyoung is squealing as he’s being manhandled, laughing and snuggling into Yeosang’s chest with a mischievous grin.
“No,” he reaches back to poke his side, giggling when Yeosang yelps and squirms away.
“You’re such a bitch,” the elder whines, grabbing a pillow to use as a defense shield against Wooyoung’s sneaky fingers.
“Come on, the sooner you get up, the sooner you can have coffee.” Yeosang immediately sits upright, looking over at Wooyoung with a beaming smile.
“I’m up.”
“Bitch,” Wooyoung giggles, sitting up as well. “I can’t believe you love coffee more than Sannie!”
“I do not!” Yeosang laughs, smacking him with the pillow. “Don’t accuse me of such things!”
“Oh, shh, shh,” Wooyoung presses his finger to Yeosang’s lips, giggling. “Don’t wake him up yet.”
“Place your bets,” Yeosang looks over at San, grinning as he rests his chin on Wooyoung's shoulder. “How long do you think he’ll last?”
Wooyoung snorts out a laugh, looking over at San as well. “Oh please, once you and I are both sucking him off? Seconds. Two minutes at most.”
“God, I love us,” Yeosang laughs, tugging Wooyoung in for a kiss. Wooyoung giggles against his lips, his hands resting on his cheeks.
They really weren’t intending for it to happen, but it's not shocking when they get caught up in each other, deepening the kiss and turning it from a giggling mess of smiles pressed together to a wet, tongue-filled exploration of each other’s mouths, with Wooyoung straddling Yeosang’s lap now.
Ever since the two filmed the sex tape two days ago, there’s been a subtle shift between them, a heightened pull that tugged them even closer together. Neither of them quite understood why, but they’re not complaining, enjoying every single second they’re spending together. They’ve hardly left the other’s side, always within inches of each other, always touching each other in some way, most of the time just holding hands, or even pinkies. Wooyoung had even snuck into Hongjoong and Yeosang’s room the other night, the same night they filmed the video, sandwiching himself between the two while they were fast asleep.
Yeosang pulls away from the kiss to mouth along Wooyoung’s jaw down to his neck. It’s been his new favorite thing to do lately for some reason, but Wooyoung isn't complaining- neck kisses are his absolute favorite thing to receive.
But they were in fact on a very important mission, so Wooyoung needs Yeosang to focus. “Sangie, ah, we gotta, we gotta get Sannie up,” he says between breathy moans, his head tilting to the side the more Yeosang bites along his neck.
“He can wait a few more minutes,” Yeosang cheekily grins, not stopping his teethy abuse to Wooyoung’s neck. He wraps his arms around the younger’s waist, pulling him so close that their chests are pressed together.
“Sa- ah, Sangie,” Wooyoung moans, reaching up to tangle his hands in Yeosang’s hair. His hips start moving of their own accord, rolling against Yeosang's and grinding down on his crotch. “You know- ah, fuck,” he moans out when Yeosang starts sucking on his pulse point, sending tingles throughout Wooyoung’s body. “You know Hwa specifically told us to behave.”
“And?” Yeosang giggles, pulling back to look up at him. “Since when do we?” Wooyoung laughs breathlessly, forcing himself to get off of Yeosang. Yeosang pouts, already mourning the weight of him on his lap.
Wooyoung giggles, leaning in to give him an apologetic kiss. “Come on, let's get him up.”
The two make their way over to San, who was surprisingly still fast asleep even with all the ruckus they had been making. Wooyoung peels the covers off of him gingerly, taking a moment to appreciate his shirtless, muscular body. San wasn’t a light sleeper, but he wasn’t a heavy one either, so it doesn't take long after Wooyoung snuggles up into his chest for San to wake up. Yeosang latches himself to San’s back, resting his chin on the other’s shoulder and staring at his face.
“Hmm,” San yawns, stretching and then wrapping his arms around Wooyoung. “Hmm, is it my birthday already?” He asks with a fond, sleepy smile, peppering soft kisses to Wooyoung's face.
“Mhm,” Wooyoung giggles, snuggling into his embrace. “Happy birthday, bubs.”
“Happy birthday,” Yeosang sings, climbing on top of the two of them and laying his entire body weight down. San breaks out into laughter, wiggling an arm free so that he could wrap it around the elder’s waist.
“Thank you,” San smiles, giving the both of them a quick peck. “Hmm, where’s everyone else?”
“Upstairs,” Yeosang answers, attaching his lips to San's neck shortly after. San hums with a soft smile, tilting his head to the side.
“We’ll join them in a sec. We just wanted to give you a little present first,” Wooyoung giggles, sitting up on his knees.
“Already?” San smiles fondly, looking between the two of them.
“Well, we still gotta pay you for taking us to the mall yesterday,” Yeosang smirks.
“Oh,” San stutters out, his eyes widening. “You mean… That.”
“Uh-huh,” Wooyoung grins, kissing the other side of San’s neck. The two are kissing all over both sides of San’s neck, Yeosang moving down to his bare chest, still marked up from the previous night. Yeosang attaches his lips to the perky bud, smiling at the way San writhes underneath him.
“Ah, Sangie…”
“You have the cutest little nipples,” Yeosang teases, lightly biting down on one and tugging it with his teeth. The moan that leaves San is instantaneous, his back lightly arching.
“Oh, they really are so cute,” Wooyoung giggles, kissing his way down San’s skin to the other one. He flicks his tongue over it, grinning when San lets out a soft whine, his head falling back. “You should get them pierced.”
“Shit, that’d be so fucking hot.” Yeosang groans. San’s cheeks turn a bright red. He huffs out a breathless laugh, lifting his head to look at the two of them.
“Aish, hush it, you demons.”
Yeosang grins against his skin, and leaves a trail of wet, open-mouthed kisses down to San’s stomach, kissing down his happy trail and over his clothed erection. San is already rock hard, his cock practically springing free when Yeosang pulls his boxers down. He takes it into his mouth, San letting out a loud moan at the combined sensation of Yeosang's mouth on his dick and Wooyoung’s on his nipple.
Wooyoung licks a trail straight down San’s abs until he reaches his cock, San’s gasps turning into loud moans when his mouth joins Yeosang’s, mouthing at the base. “Fuck,” he groans out, unable to decide between keeping his eyes open to watch them and closing them from the overwhelming pleasure.
He nearly loses it when Yeosang and Wooyoung start making out over his cock, his tip caught between their lips and tongues. It’s so unbelievably hot that it shoves him closer to the edge, and he utters out a quick cumming before he lets go. Wooyoung and Yeosang catch as much of his load as they could with their tongues, lapping every last drop of it off his tip. San couldn't even watch, he knows for a fact that he’s gonna get turned on again if he even spares a glance at them.
“God, you two are unreal,” he pants, finally looking at the both of them once he’s calmed down from his high. They both just smile at him, giggling as they each grab one arm to pull him out of the bed. San lets them, laughing and smiling as Wooyoung shimmies his boxers up his legs. He’s being pulled by the two to the base of the stairs, Wooyoung stopping them in their tracks to send a quick message to Seonghwa.
After receiving a text back, the three make their way up the stairs, Yeosang and Wooyoung covering San’s eyes once they reach the top. They guide him to the living room, waiting for the others to get into position in front of them before they remove their hands.
“Happy birthday, Sannie!” They all cheer, Yunho and Seonghwa popping confetti poppers as Jongho is sprinkling gold confetti onto him.
“Oh!” San exclaims, looking around at the colorfully decorated room in beaming awe as he’s being hugged by each of them, one at a time. “Aish, you guys really didn’t have to do this,” he laughs. “Oh my god, thank you!”
They dive into breakfast right after, San happily munching away on all of his favorite foods. He has a lapful of Wooyoung, the younger feeding him each bite of his plate, and a hand in Yeosang’s with the other in Mingi’s. Their conversation starts out as aimless chatter at first, and then turns into recollections of their favorite memories with San, leaving the birthday boy an adorably shy, blushing mess.
After breakfast, Wooyoung, Yeosang, and San all head up to their rooms to get changed, while the rest clean up and gather in the living room with their gifts for San. San’s the last one back, shocked at the sight of them all holding varying sizes of prettily wrapped presents.
“Aish,” he chuckles fondly. “You guys didn’t have to get me anything.”
“Shh, just enjoy them.” Wooyoung eagerly hands him his present, bouncing excitedly on his feet as he impatiently waits for San to open it. His eyes are darting between the box and San’s face, his smile widening at San’s surprised gasp at the necklace that’s revealed. It’s a stunning golden umbrella pendant hanging off of a gold chain, studded with tiny ruby gems. San instantly understands why Wooyoung had chosen this as a gift- their names combined meant ‘umbrella’ in Korean, and rubies were his birthstone. The idea of the thought and consideration that went into the necklace alone is enough to have San falling in love with him all over again, his heart practically leaping out of his chest when he looks back up at the younger with warm, fond eyes.
“And you wanna know the best part?” Wooyoung asks, quickly tugging out his own matching necklace from where he had hid it under his shirt, and instead of rubies it’s studded with what San recognizes as citrine, Wooyoung’s birthstone. He’s too endeared, both by the necklaces and how Wooyoung just seemed so excited to give it to him, probably just as excited as he was to receive it.
“Oh, I love it, sunshine. I’m wearing this every day, thank you so much,” San grins, giving Wooyoung a loving kiss before hurrying to get the chain around his neck. When he finally gets it clasped properly, he glances up to find Yunho walking towards him, holding out his next present.
“Happy birthday,” Yunho grins, handing him his present. “It’s from me and Jongho.”
“Oh?” San’s curiosity heightens as he glances over at Jongho, opening the box. His eyes widen when he sees the Switch inside, looking up at the two with a beaming smile. “Oh my god! Oh, you really didn’t have to.”
“Oh, come on, I know how much you like mine, you’re always stealing it. Now you have your own to play on whenever you want,” Jongho grins. “Even got your top two games already, and there’s a fifty bucks gift card if you wanna get another.”
“Oh, this is so sick, thank you so much!” He gives a hug and a sweet kiss to Yunho, and another hug with a kiss on the cheek to Jongho.
Yeosang shyly approaches San next, handing him a thinly shaped present. San takes it with a smile, curiously inspecting the shape. He gingerly peels the wrapper off, and when he finally sees what it was, his jaw drops, widened eyes looking between the gift and Yeosang.
It was a painting of the two of them, a picture that San recognizes as a selfie they took together on their first official date. It’s beautifully painted and intricately detailed, showcasing Yeosang’s remarkable skills. It warms San’s heart so much that his eyes start welling up with tears. “Angel… You’re so talented, oh my god, this is… Wow. It doesn't even look like it's a painting, wow...”
The others are eager to see the painting, enthusiastic appreciation and praises gushing out of them when San reveals it to all of them with a proud grin.
Yeosang grows shy from the attention, his cheeks heating up and his eyes diverting to the floor. “Ah, it’s really nothing.”
“Nothing? Baby, you could hang this in a museum,” Seonghwa awes.
“Too bad it’s all mine,” San giggles, unable to take his eyes off of the painting. “Oh, I love it, thank you so much. I’m hanging this in my apartment when I get back.”
The praises makes Yeosang melts, his shyness shining through his giggles and the way he fidgets with his fingers. San coos at him, pulling him in for a hug and kisses to both his cheeks and lips. As San is setting the painting aside, Mingi approaches him, shuffling towards him in such an adorably awkward way that San couldn't help but giggle at him.
“Um,” Mingi chuckles nervously. “I’m like, kind of bad with gifts, but…”
“I know I’m going to love whatever you got me, bun,” San smiles.
“Here,” Mingi timidly hands San the box, his cheeks red and smile shy. It’s a small little thing, so San is assuming it must be another piece of jewelry or something similar. What he wasn't expecting to see though was a customized keychain, just barely the size of his palm. The image printed on the thin, clear plastic looks like a Spotify song being played, with the album cover being an adorably goofy picture of the two of them, and a code on the bottom.
“You um, scan it with your phone.” San coos at Mingi’s sudden awkwardness, quickly getting his phone out to scan the code. He gasps at the playlist that pops up, scrolling through the songs, his heart melting more and more with each song he recognized. They’re all love songs, and San even recognizes some of who he knows are Mingi’s favorite artists, as well as his own.
“Aw, Mings…”
“It’s stupid, I know-”
“No, god no,” San quickly cuts him off, looking up at him with shining eyes. “I love it so much! I’m gonna listen to it every day, I swear. Thank you so much.” He giggles at the sight of the tips of Mingi’s ears growing red, pulling him into a tight hug and giving him a soft kiss.
Seonghwa hands San their gift next. The box was big, but it was light, and San already has an idea of what it was just from those two observations alone. He’s giddy as he quickly opens the box, squealing and happily pulling out the adorable stuffed bunny. He hugs it close, rubbing his cheek against the soft fur. “Oh, it’s so soft,” he awes.
Seonghwa grins, tilting their head towards the box. “There’s another gift, at the bottom. It’s from me and Hongjoong.”
Curious, San sets the bunny aside and peeks into the box, finding a smaller one inside. He grabs it, glancing between Hongjoong and Seonghwa as he opens it. It’s a silver cuff bracelet, simple and sleek, something San would definitely wear everyday. “Oo!”
Hongjoong smiles fondly. “Look at the inside of it.”
San looks at the inside of the bracelet, gasping when he realizes what was engraved there- it was all of their initials, with tiny infinity signs in between each name. His eyes soften, his dimpled smile widening even more. “Oh… Oh, I love it. Oh, that’s so cute, what the heck. Aw, thank you so much!” He gives Seonghwa a hug first, giving them a kiss before doing the same to Hongjoong as well.
“I uh, I also have this,” Hongjoong hands him a letter when they pull away, his demeanor unusually shy. San giggles at him, and makes a noise of interest as he’s taking the folded paper and opening it.
Dear Sannie
You know, it’s kind of ironic how, for someone who works on and writes lyrics like, every day, I can’t even think of a single sentence that could properly express how much you mean to me. To all of us. But here goes nothing, I guess.
I think all I can really say is that I’m lucky. I’m lucky to be able to love you. I’m lucky to have you in my life, to have you by my side always, to be able to call you my boyfriend and hopefully something more later down the line. And I’m so, so lucky to be loved by you. To love and be loved by you is one of the greatest feelings that I’ve ever felt in my whole life.
I owe a lot to you. I mean, a lot has happened since you came into my life. You inspired me to start therapy. You’re the reason we got together with Wooyoung, and that led to where we are now. You’re the reason I’m waking up in the mornings with a smile now, the reason I’m not so angry with life anymore, that I’m not so insecure with myself and how I am. You’re the reason I actually don’t hate myself anymore. I can’t say fully that I love myself just yet, but I know I’m on the path to that, and it’s because of you.
I love you so fucking much, San, it’s insane. It’s insane how much I look forward to seeing you in the mornings. It’s insane how much I look forward to having dinner with you at night. It’s insane how much I think about you, how every love song I write seems to be about you, how just seeing your smile alone can make my day a thousand times better. You make it so easy to be in love with you, it’s unbelievable that you’re even real.
I know I’m bad at showing it, it’s something I’m still trying to work on. But just know, that deep down, I love you with everything in me. And I’ll love you until the day I die.
Happy birthday, mountain. I look forward to spending many more together.
Yours always,
Hongjoong <3
San couldn't hold it in anymore. He breaks down into tears, overwhelmed with so much happiness and gratitude and love. He can’t take his eyes off the letter, his mind off all the gifts he’s received, his hand off his mouth as he tries his hardest to muffle his sobs.
“Aww, come here,” Seonghwa coos, pulling him into a hug. One by one the others gather around the two, until they’re all wrapped up in one big hug with San in the center.
When they start to separate, San takes a deep breath, exhaling shakily. “Thank you,” he croaks, looking around at them. “I love you guys so much, this is already the best birthday ever.”
“Aw, Sannie, you’re gonna make me cry,” Wooyoung pouts, thumbing San’s tears away and pulling him into another hug. San laughs breathlessly, wrapping his arms around him and holding him closer.
“Come on, sweetheart, we’re taking you out,” Seonghwa grins. San looks up at them, chuckling.
“Oh god, what have you guys planned?”
