“If there’s no water at the bottom, it was nice knowing you!”
Evbo had been ready to risk it all by jumping down a pit with literally no way of knowing if there was water at the bottom, he could respawn, sure, but Tabi knew deep down that even if he could respawn, she couldn’t be confident that he’d even be able to return here, and she was not going to be trapped here all alone
“STOP YOU IDIOT,” Before she knew it, her body moved on its own, tackling Evbo before he could jump down
“You’re an idiot, but I didn’t expect you to do something THIS dumb,” She couldn’t help but yell that out, causing Evbo to appear momentarily stunned, taking her chance, she continued giving him an earful
“Look, don’t ever do that again, and don’t you dare ever make a decision without AT LEAST informing and asking for my approval, and no complaining, you wanted to stick with me and be my fri-”
“Are you finally admitting to being my friend!?”
“Ugh, you’re going to give me a headache,” “THAT WASNT A NO,” Evbo couldn’t help but laugh and celebrate, raising his sword to the sky and cheering
She couldn’t help but roll her eyes
Exhaling, she sits down next to him
“Maybe I shouldn’t have stopped you then,” “Hah, just admit it, you want me to be safe.”
…
“I made things awkward didn’t I? Well, of course I did, I tend to do that, don't I?”
Evbo sits silently for a while, I can tell just by the way he fidgets with his sword that he doesn’t know what to say
“You didn’t do anything wrong, I guess, just this once, you managed to actually get something right.”
She exhales, somehow the sudden quietness of the room allowed her to relax momentarily
She continues
“You are an enigma, I don’t know how someone like you has managed to survive for so long, but I guess I’m a bit grateful for you.”
She locks eyes with Evbo
“Everyone kills to survive, there’s no room for trust, there’s especially no room for “friends”, and I guess, I didn’t realize how nice it is to have someone that wants to keep you alive.”
An odd feeling bubbled in her chest, a feeling she hadn’t thought she’d even be able to feel anymore
“A smile really suits you.”
She was happy
“You better not get used to it, this may be a one time thing so appreciate it.”
Evbo chuckles to himself
“Don’t worry, I am.”
